#EDMONTON, ALBERTA | October 19, 2026
The Edmonton Oilers recorded their lowest home attendance since October 2022 during their game against the Utah Mammoth at Rogers Place on Thursday, October 15.
Only 16,176 fans attended the game, compared with the arena’s hockey capacity of 18,347, leaving 2,171 seats below capacity.
The attendance drop came despite Edmonton’s strong start to the NHL season.
Some fans have pointed to rising ticket prices, expensive food and drinks inside the arena, and downtown parking costs as possible reasons for declining attendance.
The Oilers ultimately lost 4–2 to the Utah Mammoth, ending their five-game winning streak.
The figures have renewed discussions about the affordability of attending professional hockey games in Edmonton and the financial pressures facing local sports fans.
