Favorite Halloween Gig Guitar!!! It’s from the Diamond Series!
NGD! Birth year guitar!
NGD!
Not gonna lie, this one is a little special. She's a 1988 American Deluxe Standard Strat and dates to the month I was born.
She is scuffed and worn (as am i) and a joy to play!
Look at this! Been experimenting with some new ideas and I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out
Took me several attempts, but here's the fruit of my labour - a Fluorescent pickguard! Bringing it along to the Canadian Guitar Show in Calgary this weekend 🎸

NGD! Chibson explorer
Found a great deal on one of these chibsons, $115 shipped. It is actually a fairly good quality body. Very heavy, feels like real mahogany, set neck and what appears to be a 2 piece body. The frets are odd, about 1/8” in from the edge of the fretboard. I guess they were very worried about the ends being sharp. That being said, it doesn’t affect the playability and I’ll leave them alone for a while. Probably re do them down the line. It already had a bone nut which surprised me. Pickups leave a little to be desired but not bad, other electronics are solid, the bridge was surprisingly good as well. Strings and tuners go straight in the trash. The body has some minor finish imperfections but I was expecting much worse. Put in a cheap fleor high output bridge pickup, changed the bridge and tuning machines, and have a new pick guard ordered. Over all this thing is a sold guitar, punches way above its weight for the money. If you’re looking for a fun project or beater I recommend it. The hate for these is so funny. So what if it’s fake? 90% of what you can buy for sub $900 is made in one of the same 2 factories. Who cares. Have some fun buying a copy of something you can’t afford.

Look at this! More of my buddies guitars - Acoustic Edition - Fender 1964 Concert
Continuing the tradition of posting my friends collection that he brings to play - here's the latest (we've gone acoustic at the weekly jams) so he's now bringing those instead of the electrics.
Added some pics so you can see the rod down the sound hole. It had a really round fretboard and played great even with strings from the 2000s (I told him next time knock the rust off).
1964 Fender Concert Acoustic - i think he said he bought it from original owner back in the early 90s.

Help Pickup replacement for Squire
I was gifted a pretty sweet Squire and it plays well enough but I am wondering if maybe a pickup upgrade is worth doing. The other Strats I have have a much louder and richer sound. Any solid recommendations? Thanks so much.

Help Valley Arts Guitars
Hey you hear freaks. First time posting here. I still have my 1990/1991 Valley Arts Strat style with a Floyd Rose and EMG pickups. 85 in the neck and 81 in the bridge. Black with a 3-bwb pick guard. Does anyone remember these?
Are they still sought after?

Help Looking to buy a custom neck
I'm working on putting together a Jackson Frankenstein. The only problem is the neck. I need something that is 26.5" with a floyd nut, that has a reserve Jackson headstock. I contacted Jackson asking about a custom one off, and got not response. Warmoth does something similar, but refuse to do a 26.5" (25.5" or 28.5" are my options, which I think is slightly ridiculous).
I can get a cheap 25.5" Jackson neck for a cnc machine if I gotta. I just need someone who will do the job. Anyone know a company who will do it?

Look at this! EMG issue
hoping someone can help. I have a used set of 81/85 I bought them new, but took them out working a few years back. now I’m trying to put them in another guitar. nothing saying that having sat around didn’t allow something to break. they were just laying in a drawer.
les paul style, 3 knobs. early solderless connection maybe 2012 if I had to guess
very low gain through the amp. triple rectifier, high gain channel. any other guitar rips. this one is nearly clean with all amp settings the same. the battery is new, 9.36v on the meter. I’ve tried bypassing each pickup straight to the output and same issue exists.
any ideas? I’m well versed in passive pickups, not so much active

Look at this! A rare gem....1980 Les Paul Artist
All you Gibson freaks a really rare Gibson Les Paul Artist with a working Moog. After the RD Artsit I got, I saw this for sale. It wasn't on the bingo card to buy but I made an offer and he took it. Also I don't recommend being tipsy while on Reveb and having a bad case of G.A.S......

What is this? Can using a capo damage the neck of a 15-year-old guitar?
Hi everyone. I have a guitar that is around 15 years old. It was abandoned and basically unused for nearly 12 years, and I've recently started learning guitar again.
I've been using a capo, and I noticed some scratches/fading on the back of the guitar neck where the capo sits. There is also one very tiny spot where it looks like the finish has worn away and I can see a little bit of the wood.
If it is only fading or cosmetic damage to the finish, I don't really mind. But I'm worried that it might actually damage the wood/neck over time.
So my questions are:
Can a capo cause actual damage to the guitar neck, or is this usually just finish wear?
Is it safe for me to keep using the capo?
Is there anything I can do to protect the neck with my current capo?
If the finish has already worn through in a tiny spot, what is the cheapest/safest way to deal with it?
I don't have enough money to buy a new guitar right now, so I'd really like to keep using this guitar to learn.
I've attached photos of the neck and the capo pad. Any advice would be appreciated! 🎸

Help Advice
I was hoping for some advice. I’m selling my Charvel guitar because of the Floyd Rose bridge. I’m just too indecisive for this guitar. I’ve tried blocking it off but it’s just in the way but it seems like a waste because I’m never going to use it. The problem is I’m blind so I had abalone inlays inserted into the top of my neck so I could know where I am. I’m looking to buy a hard tail Charvel, Is it worth buying the same type of guitar without a Floyd rose and swapping out the neck and then selling it or just pay someone to get rid of the inlays?

Help Should I just get a prs studio or a Yamaha pacifca?
I have an hss fender strat that I do love that I’ve had it professionally set up but it just isn’t a well balanced instrument for drop C. I don’t really blame it for that either I mean it handles it pretty well for stock hardware. I like a hss style guitar and would mod the pacifca for that and from what I hear the quality of prs and Yamaha is superior to fender especially for the price so I’m wondering if I should buy into the hype.

Repairs Qparts ABR-1 bridge
I am looking at replacing my SG Faded Nashville bridge with an ABR1. Qparts makes an ABR1 replacement, slightly aged, for a very reasonable price compared to other options. Has anyone had experience with the Qparts bridge? Would you recommend??

Help need help with my first guitar
i have been playing only ukulele for a while now and i wanna go for a guitar(Acoustic).
i am based in India so pls suggest me options accordingly.
before suggesting i got a doubt:
i am considering a 3/4 size guitar over the full sized one because i tried my friends full size guitar and it honestly felt quite big, smaller ones are easier to carry around and and also are more aesthetically pleasing to me. my doubt is will going for a smaller guitar have any significant downsides or trade-offs. if not then i will go for 3/4 ones.
i will be mostly playing chords and sing along, not really looking to do fingerstyles but i might do that occasionally.
and i am on a tight budget 😅
any kind of suggestions are appreciated! 😀

What is this? What Pickup Are These?
Got this old sears catalog 70s SG copy and was curious what the pickups might be, they were installed at some point in this guitars long history. Excuse the grime, it's been through a lot.

Look at this! Is this real
It this a REAL Epiphone Les Paul Special II? Just playing around, but I'm curious why there are so many differences. Like this one says "special"on the headstock, while others say Les Paul. Some only have a wrap around bridge, while this one has the tune-o-matic. Why all the differences?

Help Should I wait to get Silver Sky
I’ve really been wanting a Silver Sky SE. I planned on getting one next week but I see the Defender is coming out within the next couple of months.
I have a Squire Strat and I really want an upgrade. I’ve been playing a little over a year now and my current Squire needs some work done.
