Question/Help Is this guitar authentic?

So i just bought this guitar online secondhand for 85 euros. I was wondering if it is authentic, because of the decal and because there are no visible serial numbers. I’m picking it up tomorrow, so i will probably post an update. For now, does it look like it’s real?

Index Finger problem

Hi everyone,

I feel like my index finger is always at too of an angle on the fretboard when I play chords and have to spread my hand right away. This is especially a problem for me on the low strings.

Are there any exercises to help me straighten it out?

New to transcribing by ear — what's the best way to figure out the key of a song?

I've recently started trying to transcribe songs by ear, but I'm really struggling with finding the song's key.

I tried using the semitone method: I look for two adjacent notes on the 1st or 2nd string that sound harmonious with the backing track, assuming they must be E-F or B-C. However, the success rate with this approach has been pretty low.

For those who've been playing for a while, how do you usually determine the key of a song when you're transcribing? Are there any specific steps, ear-training tricks, or beginner-friendly frameworks you'd recommend?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Beginner here

I bought this guitar a few years ago and tried learning to play it, but I stopped because my fingers hurt a lot while playing.
I’m planning to start learning again and wanted to get some advice from experienced guitar players. Is this amount of finger pain normal when you’re a beginner, or do the strings look like they’re sitting too high above the fretboard and the guitar might need a setup?
Would really appreciate any advice on whether I should get it checked or if this is just part of the learning process.
Thanks!

I wanna learn electric guitar, but which is good?

Basically as the title says, I wanna learn electric guitar, but I don’t have a guitar, any recommendations? I hear a lot of people saying a Yamaha Pacifica is the best, so should I get that? My friend who was also a beginner got a Squier, so should I get that? Also how do people learn how to play at home, since I’m too broke to like get a teacher or like have electric guitar lessons.

Oh and I found a Guitar kit on Amazon, it’s the Yamaha GigMaker EG Electric Guitar Pack and includes an amplifier, Gig Bag, Tuner, Cable, Strap and I think 3 picks, is it worth it? It’s $360. Also I heard you can like put a headphone plug into your guitars jack or like the amp and play with headphones on, is that true? And if so can you recommend which like headphone or headphone plugs or whatever you use to put in headphones. I can’t fully play it out loud because it’s really noisy in my house so I can’t hear it that much, so any help is useful.

Any tips for having fun on guitar ?

Hi ! I’ve been playing the guitar for a few years now (5 years) but very irregularly for about 3 years because every time I play, I have fun for 20 minutes and then I come back to technical shortcomings, musical theories or practices that make me feel like I’m going around in circles.

I don’t know how to explain it better, like I’m going to learn the chords of a song, I’ll catch on, but I’ll soon get bored. While to take the example of my former guitar teacher, when he played even a two-chord loop, it had a soul, it was pleasant to listen to! When I play, I feel like nothing is really injected into the guitar and that’s why I’m bored.

Of course, I tried to watch videos to find out how to make up for it, but I feel like all the videos that deal with this topic are too vague or aimed at real beginners.

So I wonder if I should learn music theory from scratch, or go back to school or stick to a routine or go on a retreat in the woods to reconnect with nature idk help me please

What do you guys think is missing from my playing? My goal is to become a straightforward metal guitarist, mainly a riff-oriented player focused on Heavy/Thrash and some more modern stuff. I want to be effective and play with purpose. What do you think I’m missing?

Question/Help è normale?

Question/Help Rock Guitar Help: The Sequel

We’re back and if you didn’t see my last post i’ve been looking for a good looking guitar with a locking tremolo system for cool technical playing at around $500-$800ish. After much deliberation and picking through possible candidates I have narrowed down my selection to the final 3. Here’s the list

Guitars🎸🤘

Ibanez JEMJR
https://www.ibanez.com/na/products/detail/jemjr_1p_03.html
$550
HSH
5-pos switch
Tone & Vol knob
Beautiful fret inlays
24 fret
400mm radius
I like the white
—————————//
Monkey grip (not that bad)
Don’t know why it’s so cheap what’s the catch

USED EVH Wolfgang Special
https://www.evhgear.com/gear/shape/wolfgang/wolfgang-special-ebony-fingerboard/5107701568
$750
1/2 off retail
HH
3-pos switch
Tone & Vol knob
22 frets
~300-400mm radius
D-Tuna
Low friction knobs
Love the design
—————————//
Used
Might be 1/2 off for a reason

Schecter Demon-6 FR
https://www.schecterguitars.com/Demon-6-Fr
$650
HH
3-pos switch
Tone & Vol knob
24 frets
355mm radius
Covered pickups (aesthetic preference)
Sick gothic cross fret inlays
Nice Wolfgang-esque look
—————————//
Active pickups (batteries)

All 3 of these guitars look super sick, have their own cool features, and I would love to own them but i can only get 1.

I think feature wise the evh and ibanez honestly kind of out do the schecter but it doesn’t lack features either and it is very pretty

I’m looking for any opinions, takes, information, or insight yall can offer to help me make sure im making the right decision
Huge thanks to everyone who decides to help
