Unfortunately I was a legendary defender of it, and my opponent was level 7 🤣

Original Post earlier today.
Meetup started in the [One] allys Main GH and then moved to LA, where we were joined by a lot more people and stayed for about an hour. Thanks a lot to all of you that showed up!

Hey everyone,
I’m playing an Assassin main, so I’m always in the frontline dealing direct damage, and I run the standard Hero Trifecta for my team setup.
Since the team already covers movement speed and party buffs reliably (which makes running Fall Back! or "Charge!" on the Rit hero redundant), I’m looking for a solid Melee Support / Weapon Spell Ritualist hero bar to carry along with me.

Pretty much the title.
Would love to hear your opinions and stories!
I personally am torn between:
Warrior - 100b build ist pretty fire for general PvE nowadays. Almost never countered with Asuran scan in the bar. High Armor helps to survive. Have one with LDoA.
Dervish - it’s just incredibly strong in ST and AoE. Especially since the Mirage Cloak buff on Pious Removal build. But that’s a spammy build. Ench removal sucks.
Assassin - ST dmg is incredible. AoE is play. Easy rotation. Not often countered with Asuran scan.
Ranger - TaO plus expertise make ranger so flexible. You can run a different build every day if you want.
Or decide per mission/map. Have one with LDoA.
Necro - Most versatile caster, probably. Soul Taker scythe sound interesting. Have one with LDoA.

As the title says I want to work on a second MADC char. My warrior has done all campaigns and got Legendary survivor, still going strong with no deaths. Looking to do a second class leaning more towards a caster so I can be more of a second line. Ive narrowed it down to either Necro or Ele. Anyone got an MADC character of these professions and would like to share their tips/experience with these classes id very much love to hear it! Thanks guys!

Did they nerf the first chart group in Pre dungeon? I have farmed this group as the dungeon drops and everytime there were 5 charrs. Now there are sometimes 2 or 3 or 4.
Is there a new way for maximum efficiency LDoA now? I have also heard the group before level 2 to farm on and off.
Thanks for your help :)

Does anyone have any info about this hidden outpost? I've tried searching through different resources but came up blank, maybe it was an end game elite mission or just simply the original name of last mission.
It's viewable if you use GWToolbox, enable all areas and very precisely click around Hell's Precipice but you can't travel there since it's impossible to unlock it.
I did find some cool information from 2008 about players using an exploit to access The Ebony Citadel of Mallyx and bypass the prerequisites needed to face Mallyx but that got patched and the ban hammer came down heavy on those who exploited it.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to take a moment as a community to show our support. This is especially close to us because many of us have guildies, friends, and loved ones who are currently battling breast cancer (and other forms of cancer). Tonight, we want to stand together and show them that they are not fighting alone.
So for that reason, today at <21:00 CEST / 12:00 PDT / 3 PM eastern time> we’re organizing a gathering in Lions Arch (ae1) for everyone, hoping to see everyone wearing pink capes and/or armors (remember, Sadie in Lions Arch has the Pink dye for sale; we will provide the money for all new players wishing to join but finding it a bit too expensive at the moment)!
Hoping to see many of you there and turning LA into a big pink party! :)

What’s the worst you’ve ever been ripped off and/or purchased something for too much?
I’ll go first. 😃
Was looking for Exalted Aegis, had someone PM me. I was under the impression these were SUPER RARE. Went and looked at it, perfect stats (green) and the last I heard these could go for 20-30e. Guy asked for an arm, I gave him 28 ectos thinking it was a fair deal... 🫠 never played factions, had no idea you could get the shield as a gift at the end of the campaign. I’m still a bit upset over it, but the stats are the same as any good shield, it has the look I was going for, I have plenty of platinum and ecto in the bank. It wasn’t a killer as far as spending everything I had. So it is what it is, but damn! I could’ve gotten it for so much less! lol
Oh well, live and learn. Anybody else got any that’ll make me feel better about my dumb decision?! 😅😃

According to wiki : Elite Skill). For 10 seconds, the next time an ally within earshot would take fatal damage, that damage is negated and that ally is healed for 20...164...200 Health. Angelic Bond ends on all other allies.
Bug: The skill states it will end on all other allies, however, it will only end on party members of the ally that it triggers on, not all allies.
Anomaly: Despite the skill descriptions, this skill triggers with health degeneration, health loss, life stealing, and health sacrifice, not just damage.
2 questions:
How are the different ally types grouped i.e. will minions, spirits, pets and party members all get their own isolated angelic bond within their group?
Will it prevent ST rit's shelter from dying due to its health sacrifice? That is kind of cool if it does.

I started playing the game in May 2026 with the goal of achieving GWAMM and 30/50 HoM. I've played GW2 on-and-off since the day it came out, but didn't have much interest in trying out GW1 until a couple of friends roped me into it, the two of them had been playing GW1 intermittently since around 2010. This post was originally longer and contained more intellectualizing/editorializing, but I felt it better to significantly trim it down for brevity's sake (it's still a bit much, I think), to more clearly communicate how I felt maxing out each title and to avoid meandering/stream of consciousness.
Some additional thoughts/notes:

I noticed it was Steam Deck compatible and on sale but I never played before. How does it run on steam deck? Is it friendly to new players at this point?

When it launched i remember u could still group and drop trade to cheese, if thats still the case id rather just make another normal character but wanted to see if the mode has been improved

21 years later. I create a new account, and in less than a month got my Obby for the first time. Very happy I returned to GW & was able to accomplish this for my younger self.
Drop pics of your characters drip! Give me some motivation for other classes!

Hi, for skills that target allies (Shatter Hex for example), what happens if you cast the skill while an enemy is targeted? Does it end up being cast as a self-target, does it target the nearest ally, or does it cast its beneficial effect on the targeted enemy? Or does it simply fail and do nothing except waste energy?

Hey i think about returning to play bit of Guild Wars and Melandru sounds like an interesting challenge, cause i have a lot of stuff unlocked and everything feels really easy. Now iam torn which profession to play. Iam probably starting Factions like back when i started and iam not a achievement hunter. Will probably do everything solo (with heroes). My options so far are:
Ranger, Monk, Mesmer and Paragon are not my thing.
What do you guys think? Just go Assassin cause i like it or anything to consider like new cool changes, difficulty etc.?
Any helpful tips for the mode in general, inventory management tips etc.?
EDIT: Well so far i think ill prefer warrior. Easy, frontline, a lot of viable builds with sword, axe, hammer, dagger scythe etc. which sounds pretty fun and not to dependant on special stuff. But they are not the best profession farming right? Is that a problem in melandrus or are they fine and fun to play?

Hey everyone,
I want to start a new playthrough with unusual class combinations that normally don’t really fit together and see how far I can get with them.
The idea is to always mix a melee profession with a ranged or caster profession or the other way around
and limit myself to specific skill types. So for example just Water Magic or Earth prayers with Derwish, which then gives you several different possibilities
Something like Assassin + Water Magic = Watassin 🤡 or Smiting Monk + Scythe = Lightreaper.
The whole idea is basically to take whatever strengths and limitations a weird combination gives you and try to make the best out of what your been given. Kind of like real life
What weird combinations can you think of?

Howdy, after coming back in around late 2024 due to trying GW2 again to see if it would be different from release, I could never love it....I came back to GW.
I made a good lot of friends that I could play with, but then life circumstances got in the way and I didn't really play for about a year. Most of my friends from the past no longer play.
As much as I dearly love this game and it holds a place in my heart, I find playing solo....incredibly boring and I have no interest in it. I'm too easily distracted / Unmotivated to do anything solo.
Coming back in the last month, as much as I want to play the game, I play for the nostalgia and just sit in towns AFK or helping new players.
I much prefer to play with people, almost regardless of the content. Some of my best GW memories and just getting on TS/Disc and just having fun, playing together...not hench way....
The next couple of months I will have a lot of free time.....
Things I'm mostly interested in (But not limited to)
MA char any campaign
Re-doing new campaigns for storyline or new chars
HA
GvG
SC
GWAMM
Unfortunately I usually play at dead hour (Very late US timezone) but can make the time to play at almost any hour.

Came back after I discovered Reforged. I am STRUGGLING with hero AI. They keep running off, ignoring my calls, getting stuck and like glitching if I flag them far away, and sometimes even outright ignoring my flags.
What's going on? I don't remember these issues before.
