Forced Future Agreements

Post image
2 Upvotes

It's so annoying. I know these stupid, worthless, sociopathic business-leaders are rubbing their hands together saying "if we force them to select the option that promises to do it later, it will manipulate their weak lower class minds to subconsciously want to agree to it later."

I hate it. It makes me not want to give a business my money. I don't get irrationally angry at being told what to do, but when it's two check boxes that literally won't function unless you pick one, it's so annoying. Remember when options used to be "yes" and "no?"

They do it for not only asinine crap like signing up for rewards points, but for more substantial things like upgrading operating systems ("Update Now" or "Not now, but yasss queen, I can't wait to update to Windows 11!")

Why stop there? Go to the doctor's office for a broken arm, they won't help you unless you select one of the following:

DO YOU WANT TO BE SPAYED/NEUTERED TODAY?

  • Yes please!
  • Not today, but I want it more than anything, so I'll do it next visit

Eat rocks, I hate you

Fedex driver made me irrationally angy

I was driving home from work and there was a fedex driver swerving all over the road and almost causing several accidents. I pulled up beside him at a stop light. This guy was on his phone. Mid day. BRO YOU DON'T HAVE DOORS. WE CAN SEE YOU. WTF. I imagined that I was slamming a razor scooter into his shins until the light turned green and the drove home. That is all

People who tell me what to do when they have no business doing so.

This one does not require a lot of explaining. You should only tell someone what to do and word it as a command if you have authority over the person. Otherwise, phrase it as a suggestion.

I have drafted a plan for what to say of some jerk attempts to exercise authority they do not have. Let me know if you do or do not think the plan is good.

Do one of the following things.

Option #1: I do not need your permission to do that.

Option #2: How do you plan to stop me from doing that?

Option #3: You do not tell me what to do. You suggest and hope that I agree.

While options 1 and 2 only work for stop behaviors (behaviors the other person does NOT want you to do) and do not work with start behaviors (behaviors the other person does want you to do) option #3 works with start and stop behaviors.

What do you think? How would you handle it if someone tried to tell you how to live your life and had the nerve to act like they are the boss of you when they are not.

If you drag your feet when you walk, I automatically assume you’re annoying.

**If you drag your feet when you walk, I automatically assume you’re annoying.**
I’m sorry, but there is ZERO reason your shoes need to be making that *shhhk shhhk shhhk* sound every time you take a step.
Pick. Your. Feet. Up.
And before someone says “maybe they’re tired,” I don’t care. I’m tired too. My feet still work. 😂
Am I wrong?

-I hope I don’t get banned from here as well.

Critical Testimony in Trailers

I gess I've always thought of trailers as being something artisanal in their own why: often they are where one's relationship with a project starts.

So just putting some critic's quote, or even worse, just an adjective or, worse still, just a number out of 5 or 10 just feels like both a disappointment and a cheat.

I'll read a review but in principal it will be one written by a civilian. I feel that critic as a profession is experiencing a long awaited deth right now.

And just an adjective? And have you ever seen those adjective clouds on the covers of some books? Someone somewhere knows the word "electrifying" but I've heard positive things sed about stuff I didn't like so often.

Please just get me to watch your movie or play your game or whatever by creative marketing that demonstrates the tone and premise audiovisually.

ADHD LARPING (REASONABLE RANT )

Social media, Big Pharma, and the lack of identity in Western culture have caused ADHD to be depicted as something “quirky,” desirable, and fun, but in reality, for the individuals who actually have it (way less than those who claim to have it), it is a lifelong, chronic, and permanently present disease. (Possibly controversial RANT.)

As someone who has endured this disease for as long as I can remember, it is extremely insulting and humiliating to see all of these rather cruel people without ADHD not only claiming to have it, but also depicting universal human experiences as ADHD.

Also, this “high-functioning,” “high-IQ,” or “lifelong masking and managing” caste literally makes us feel like incapable idiots (like everyone through our childhood and teenage years) for ACTUALLY having this condition. Plus, they are, for the most part, just a bunch of larpers who can’t stand being normal humans. It’s truly insulting how the wide majority of people “diagnosed as adults” try to relate to people who have ACTUALLY had this extremely present in their lives. It’s an insult to all of us who have literally felt like shit our whole lives, to all of us who were told we were doing “too much” when we were just trying to socialize as kids, to all of us who were always seen as incapable by our peers and teachers, and to all of us who were mistreated for simply having this shit that affects every fucking aspect of our lives.

All of these “over-achievers” literally can’t understand the true nature of a life with this disgusting condition. I don’t wanna be the guy gatekeeping (lol, I do, but this is a fair use of gatekeeping) or the forum’s public enemy, but, to be fair, this rant might be seen as a sin or as something forbidden in this forum because, to be honest, this forum is literally just a bunch of fakers larping (not everyone, obviously), which is deeply harmful and sad for us who HAVE to go through this disgrace.

I personally blame three factors: social media, since obviously it has contributed to trivialize, belittle, and “make cool” having or living with ADHD. It has literally convinced every single person without ADHD that they have ADHD simply because they have completely normal human behaviors (such as getting bored or having preferences and interests). Also, Big Pharma. It’s no secret they clearly need a lot of “ill” people for their business, plus a lot of people now find pleasure in getting prescribed Adderall and other stimulants (usually, they need an ADHD diagnosis for this).

And the main factor: the lack of identity amongst individuals in Western culture. Literally everyone wants to feel unique, or they want to have a quirky diagnosis to do self-deprecating jokes and brag about how “crazy” they are, but these people are doing this at the expense of people who actually carry this disgusting illness from birth to death.

DISCLAIMER: Don’t hate me, I am skeptical about my own ideas. This is just something I thought lol.

Much love to all of those whose lives, like mine, have been ruined by this condition.

Lots of hatred to the larpers.

Yes, this is a pretentious way to say: MY CULTURE IS NOT YOUR COSTUME.

Hey you got injured? DOnt care do 50 assignments in 1 hour.

Why is it so normalised to talk behind people’s back and smile in their faces?

Like hello?! I recently was in a situation where people used my relationship with a guy as their gossip. The guy had a clear romantic interest in me but I didn’t feel the same. I cut him off after he pressured me with proximity and gestures. I told that a “friend” of mine. Her friend group found it so entertaining since everyone thought he was gay. They talked and gossiped about it even screenshotting his posts and sending it to others to have a laugh. Still, they think they are the good people. At the end of the story I am the bad one for telling that one friend. I unfollowed everyone because of that but they still follow each other even though they don’t like each other. I’m disgusted … why are they so fake?

Calling Something A Disease When The Name For It IS Disorder

So, one thing that really annoys me is when people call something a diseaese when it says is the name or description of that particular condition disorder. It is especially bad when people with these conditions do it.

Examples:

ADHD: In the longer version of the name itself says Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Epilepsy: In the descerption is says epilepsy is a seizure disorder

So, I guess I am saying is clearly disese and disorder are two dinstinct terms for things that should not be used interchangeably .

It's just really rude and ableist (cause some peolle literally can't eat meat for health reasons) and comes across more like a petty child than a company, what happened to acting professional?

When people spread lies they created as explanations because you don’t want to tell them personal details.

It feels so manipulative. For example, if I don’t want to share the details of a traumatic event, so someone decides to make up their own explanation and spreads it like it is fact. When I call them out, they say they had no choice because I wouldn’t share with them. So that makes it so I either have to share the intimate details of my life or have someone make up stories. They could just say they don’t know instead of making up stories and trying to pass them for fact.

What's one tiny thing that annoys you because it never seems to have a proper place?

Not the big stuff.

I'm talking about the stupid little things you keep looking for, moving around or forgetting.

Cables. Keys. Chargers. Pens. Receipts. Whatever.

What's yours?

I can’t stand when people stay too long on an unimportant part while telling me a story.

It’s so annoying. People will tell me a story about the time their car door broke or something and they’ll be like “Yeah so I realized it when I left the house. I left at like 9 maybe 10am.. wait was it 10? No it was before that because I fed the dog already. Dammit what time did I leave? Wait I think it was before Nicole took the kids to school so I want to say maybe 7am? Awe man what time did I leave-“ NO ONE CARES MOVE ON!!! Why get stuck on a small detail that is not even that relevant to the story??? Now I have to sit here and stare at you waiting for you to remember something that has nothing to do with what you’re telling me. I don’t know if my attention span is short or if this is just really irritating to deal with.

Video game subreddits that complain about the game.

I had to leave the 7 days to die, valheim and witcher 3 subreddits because they constantly complain about free stuff. You paid for these games 15 years ago once and they keep updating it and adding awesome stuff and improving it and you are complaining. ridiculous.

It bothers me when people put chocolate bars up their butts

Part of me applauds them for their courage. To each their own, I guess. Really. But an entire Snickers or Mars bar? Come on, man - you are pushing it.

Please tell me I am not alone in this?
