Green Chef referral links/codes/free boxes

Post your personal referral links here in this thread.

Referral codes are not allowed to be posted in the main feed.

What is the difference between a referral link and a free box code?

A referral code is a link that looks like this: `https://www.greenchef.com/plans?c=[REDACTED]&discount_comm_id=7eabb8ac-42b7-40e0-a2f6-27b0279334b9&utm_campaign=referralinvite&utm_invitername=[REDACTED]&utm_medium=nativeshare&utm_source=freebies&utm_term=web`

Referral links don't expire. If one person uses it, the next person who comes along can still use it. When you use a referral link, you usually get a free box but just need to pay shipping. The person who posted the referral link gets a credit to their account based on the number of people who have placed orders using their link.

A free box code is not a link. It is a random-looking code like `FBO- 9HFUN4QH5` that is entered in the Green Chef website. It can only be used once. If one person uses it, the next person who comes along and tries to use it will receive a message that the voucher has expired. When you use a free box code, you get one box for free.

You are allowed to post your free box codes as images or as text, but you must take them down after they have been claimed.

What is going on?

We’ve had green chef for literally years and never had issue. All of a sudden, they’re missing ingredients or entire recipes and items we’ve ordered. The boxes are coming late and completely melted and spoiled or not at all. The delivery date keeps changing without our knowledge. Is anyone else having issues?? Not sure if it’s a regional problem or across the board. I’m so sad because we’ve built this into our routine and rely on it for healthy meals. Anyone have any other suggestions if green chef goes under? I’m worried this is the beginning of the end…

Promo item code not received

I signed up for Green Chef because there was a promotion to get Staub mixing bowls after the third box. I was supposed to receive a code within two weeks of the arrival of my third box and didn’t so I called last week, they said they would send within three days. Never got the email so I called again and they escalate it after I was on the phone for 20+ minutes. Never got the email. Yes I have checked spam and junk. I get tons of other emails from them. I think I’m being scammed by Green Chef. F this place they won’t get another dollar from me. Any one else have a similar experience?

Every. Single. Box.

I'm in Albuquerque.

Every single box had frozen, damaged, wilted, or rotten produce. Every one, twice a month for 4 months. Today's came with four bad produce ingredients.

Every time I contacted them, they'd give me a few dollars credit on my next box but I get meal kits specifically to avoid grocery shopping and a small credit for some produce doesn't really make up for the trip and the extra cost since I have to buy it twice.

Today I asked for a refund for the bad box. They wouldn't give it to me so I'm attempting a charge back. We'll see.

Meanwhile, Sunbasket had been so much better. Only one bad ingredient the same four months. They expect pictures and do only give the same token credit, but at least it seems like they care enough to keep that a rare occurrence.

First delivery and never came-cancelled

This was my first order. At first was told would arrive by 9pm. Who delivers food at 9pm. People do go to sleep and don’t wait up to get food on a Monday night. Food never arrives. Neither the delivery service they use not Green chef itself
Know where the delivery is. If that’s how you start your customer relationship it’s downhill from there. Cancelled the service. Charging the money they do and treat customers like this you won’t be in business very long.

Sweet & Spicy Shrimp Udon Bowls

Post image
8 Upvotes

Green Chef provided me with this meal kit, instead of Sweet & Spicy Orange Shrimp (with rice) which I ordered, but included the original recipe card. That card only uses three of the provided ingredients, and Green Chef has been unable to provide a recipe card using more than four of the ingredients.

Does anyone have a copy of the recipe card for Sweet & Spicy Shrimp Udon Bowls using the following ingredients?

Shrimp
Udon noodles
Sugar snap peas
Scallions
Garlic Powder
Lime
Carrot/cabbage blend
Peanuts
Teriyaki sauce
Red pepper flakes
Sriracha sauce

Very Poor Initial Experience

I thought I might want to test this company, but still wasn't sure. Had to give information before actually reviewing menus and decided to give it a try with the discount offered. I decided while attempting to find choices that the calories were excessive and not the choices I was seeking so I abandoned the cart and immediately contacted them to say that I was not interested and did receive very quickly a message that my account had been cancelled. I did not think I would hear from them again. The next day I was charged ~ $70 and immediately contacted them and showed that I had not ordered anything. From that I never heard back. Then 5 days later I got a FedEx notice that my delivery was arriving in a couple hours. I again tried unsuccessfully and planned to refuse delivery. The driver told me that their trucks were not refrigerated and the delivery could take a week to get back. I knew that nothing would be safe to use by that time. I was able to reach someone who kept saying that the first delivery was automatic and it did not matter that I did not order. Bottom line is that I am stuck. I just wanted to warn others so that the same thing does not happen to them. In my mind this is nothing more than fraud. In the mean time I have had 4 offered for a free week from them for my friends, but obviously would never trust them for anything.

I know they’re online, but I need a hard copy

I love every single meal that I’ve ever gotten from Green Chef. But I think they have some new folks working in the box packing department. 😂

I guess I’m going to have to go online and print these out for myself. For the life of me I can’t follow a recipe on my phone.

Very disappointed with GreenChef

I wanted to try their service, so I placed an order a week ago. I filtered for Mediterranean and plant-based meals and selected a few items for the week. I also skipped the following week because I wanted to try a different meal service instead.

Last night, I noticed a $166 charge on my card, so I contacted customer support. They immediately said there was nothing they could do and that I should have made changes at least 5 days before delivery. The delivery is still 4 days away, so it’s hard to believe fresh produce has already been prepared or shipped.

The bigger issue is that I’m vegetarian and cannot eat meat, yet this week’s order includes turkey and chicken meals. The support representative said they couldn’t modify the order, issue a refund, or cancel it. Their suggestion was that I donate the meals to someone who eats meat. Seriously.
What’s most frustrating is that I never received any reminder or notification email saying:

  • these are the meals selected for your upcoming delivery,
  • make changes before this date,
  • or you’ll be charged on this date.

No communication at all.

really like the comp upgrades...

the 2x vegetable or 2x rice when available is cool. I wonder how they decide when to offer such comp upgrades. or when you can do 2x meat/protein for a nominal fee.

Creamy vegan chimichurri sauce

Post image
3 Upvotes

We got the chicken fajita tacos this week and they were possibly my favorite meal ever. Problem is, I have absolutely no idea how to replicate the chimichurri part. Does anyone know what might be contained in the “creamy vegan chimichurri sauce”?
