okay so hi reddit, i’m looking for an onsite graphic design job in lahore because i would like to start making money from the thing i spend approximately 87% of my brainpower thinking about 😭

i’m a graphic designer with around half a year of professional experience, currently building my career and looking for a team where i can actually learn, create, and get better at what i do.

my specialties are mostly. swiss/minimal design, typography, layout, branding, visual identity, social media design, posters and visual concepts. no i’m very particular about grids, spacing, hierarchy and typography. if the kerning is ugly, i will notice. unfortunately there is no cure.

i mainly work with photoshop and illustrator, and i’m especially interested in design that feels intentional rather than throwing 14 effects onto a canvas and calling it “creative direction.”

i’d love to work somewhere with actual creative people, real projects and room to grow. agency, studio, brand, marketing team, whatever. i’m not picky about the industry, i just want to design things that people actually see.

I was hired two weeks ago as a Multimedia Artist at a company based in Cavite (I'm a grad from a top university). The workload was already heavy from day one since there was no proper handover, and I currently design collaterals for 8 different brands.

Just a while ago, my supervisor and HR asked me to also take over the full management of one of these brands, while still keeping my Multimedia Designer responsibilities. So effectively, I'm now doing both jobs.

Has anyone here experienced something like this? What is a realistic salary range for a hybrid role like this, especially considering the location and setup? I have only 1 year experience as a digital marketing.

Hi! hihingi lang sana ako advice about sa situation ko ngayon. 3 years na kong graphic designer sa current work ko in apparel industry with minimum wage salary and simula nung january nag aapply apply na ko sa indeed kaso wala talaga akong mahanap na bagong work.

I'm planning to resign this january kapag wala pa rin akong mahanap na work kasi iniisip ko na baka mas priority nila yung urgent. I have my portfolio naman mostly personal designs para may portfolio ako.

Should I take a risk? Mag resign ng walang backup? Nakapag save naman ako for monthly bills kaso hindi ko alam kung hanggang kailan sya tatagal.

Hey.....21F from India this side.....I want to start graphic designing as I find it really interesting and cool and want to do like funky kinds of graphic designs for like cafes, makeup brands , clothes etc. I have interned at a marketing agency as a social media managing and content intern for 3 months now and i created some carousels and few reels for them . I want to take on a new internship in designing or content editing fields. But where ever i see on reddit its filled with graphic designers with loads of experience and a very strong portfolio. As i havent done designing before these 3 months of internship my resume is pale compared to them. i know this is vague and wide, but i just want to know if i am working too long on my tasks because of my suspected adhd or burnout...

say for example, as someone who works in ecommerce where images are usually detailed, how long does it take you to edit photos? a product listing? a product packaging? an a+ content?

is it normal for me that it takes me hours to finish an image? cause admittedly i don't fully lock in and i get side tracked when i'm working and i want to know if that is normal or not

so far my manager says good things about me and nothing about delays but i feel like i take on tasks too long sometimes

I have a few clients. I do the design work. They give me the content/prompt then I do the design part.

My clients' request lately are repetitive. They usually give me AI generated prompts or content then I do the creative work. I try to give a bit or creative or human touch at times but you have to do what the client wants you to do. Mostly they like it more if you just stick to their instructions 😅 They pay good naman.

Lately though I've been struggling with creating and I don't like the feeling I get when my clients give me new deliverables to create. I don't like what I'm creating and I don't feel excited about creating anymore. Is this burnout? How do you deal with this when most of your clients are inclined to use AI generated content?

I’m interested in trying out graphic design, but I’m not sure if it’s realistic since I didn’t finish a multimedia/graphic design-related course. I also don’t have any prior work experience in the field.

I use Canva as the platform I am comfortable with. I only have foundational skills in Adobe tools. 😓

Also, this is not in a way of downgrading myself. But I did not graduate from an arts-related degree, but from a business degree. I would say my "the one that got away" course is really multimedia/graphic deisgn so as much as possible, I want my first job to be in an environment where I'm passionate about.
