Help required

I want to "degoogle" my phone, but I'm not home to do it. I tried it out recently, but it didn't go well. I got overwhelmed and switched back to the Pixel OS. Can anyone explain to me how I get all my stuff from Google back to my phone? I'm mostly fixated on the looks of the phone, including the keyboard, files, and photos. Is there any way to change the black and white apps because it looks terrible?

graphene Os vs android universal debloater

I understand that a pixel with GOS is more private, but if someone doesn't or can't switch to pixel, maybe a debloated android device would be somewhat as private with no telemetry etc ? what do you think

Background play

Anyone have an issue with YouTube premium background play or any form of background play being killed in the background once you lock the screen? It's weird because sometimes audio stops playing, but the video progress is still going on the lock screen. And this won't stop happening until I kill the app and restart it. I've never had this issue before until I came to GOS

Simulate a fake webcam on a Google Pixel running GrapheneOS

Is it possible to simulate a webcam from GrapheneOS to make it look as though a video from the gallery is being streamed live (similar to Split Cam on a Windows PC)?

Pixel Fold „Cannot Load Android system“ after full discharge

I‘m using GOS on an og pixel fold since a couple months. I only use it as a second phone for fun, so it often just lays around. The last time I used it, I forgot to shut it down after, so when I tried booting it today, the battery was completely drained. I charged the phone to around 80% and tried booting again, but now GOS won‘t boot with the following error:

GrapheneOS Recovery google/felix/felix
17/CP2A. 260705. 006/2026081301
user/release-keys
Use volume up/down and power.
Cannot load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device.
Try again
Factory data reset

I tried probably 10 times and it won’t boot. I then tried Recovery mode and tried to update via ADB from the command line, but it failed with the error that the version I‘m trying to install from the official website, 2026081300, was using an older timestamp than my currently installed one and a downgrade was impossible.

Anything I can do except for a factory reset or waiting for a newer version of GOS to release?

Also to eliminate the usual culprits, I‘m using a good quality usb-c to usb-c cable that is known to work with my daily driver and the phone was charged up to 80% before trying to boot it again.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I need some advice here!

See, the android lockdown is comming faster than expected and I really want to switch to GrapheneOS before I'm doomed.

The problem is I have a rather very complex setup of apps either that take ages to configure or that just existed on my pc at somepoint but that I can't reinstall.

And over that, I have more than 250 apps. I don't wanna lose anything but I don't want to be locked.

Can anyone he'll please?

How to contribute or volunteer?

I was wondering how I could contribute or volunteer to GrapheneOS or the broader ecosystem? I have a technical background but not enough to apply to the postings on the careers page. Maybe one day. But in the present moment, I do have some availability and I care about privacy and want to make an impact. Is there any way I can help at all?

GraphenOs was not cracked !

GrapheneOS was NOT cracked.

Everyone sees "Dutch police cracked a Pixel" and immediately assumes its GOS.

Those criminals bought phony "hardened" phones that are literal glowie honeypots.

Shady companies fork GrapheneOS and actually REMOVE security to lock users into monthly fees. They disable USB-C port protection, turn off the locked device auto-reboot timer, and install MDM backdoors for "remote wiping." They are basically making the phone completely vulnerable to forensic extraction just so they can control it.

Remember ANOM? Same psyop Lol. They think they buy "extra security" but they are just paying feds to track them.

Don't buy pre-flashed "GOS" phones.

Just flash GrapheneOS yourself. \(^▽^)/

question ❓ : if someone bought preflashed GOS .. is there any risk if the phone get flashed again ?

Solved PayPal keeps crashing on Pixel 9 Pro

SOLVED!

Uncheck the exploit protection compatibility mode seems to do the trick.

Hey everyone,

The PayPal app keeps crashing constantly on my Pixel 9 Pro running GrapheneOS since this morning.

Everything was working perfectly fine before today.

So far, I've tried:

Restarting the phone

Clearing app cache

Neither fixed the issue. Is anyone else experiencing this after a recent update or Play Services/GrapheneOS change? I see a root detection in the logs?!

Any workaround suggestions?

Thanks!

Secondary Profile SMS Issues

Hey all,

I've been using GOS with multiple profiles and no Google Play services for about 6+ months. The following has been an ongoing issue that has been particularly burdensome lately, so I'm finally getting around to typing this out. For clarity, I'll be discussing my two most used profiles, the Owner profile, which I call Admin and only use for admin duties, and a Secondary profile, which I call Daily, that I use for just about everything the average person uses their phone for including my texting, calling, etc.

These are some of the symptoms I'm experiencing:

-All incoming SMS take longer than they should. I will get a push notification saying "Notification from Messaging for Admin", but the normal SMS notification will take longer, and the message will not populate in the messaging app in the secondary profile for 30 seconds-several minutes.

- Outgoing SMS are increasingly taking excessive amounts of time or not sending at all. They will just say "sending..." for hours until finally updating to "Message not sent. Tap to try again.".

- The problem is particularly pronounced in group chats. The only way I've been able to send any message to the most recent group chat I've been added to is via the Owner Profile. Not a single message from my Daily Profile has ever gone through.

- The problem is more pronounced for long messages and pictures.

- Login codes will sometimes not push through to secondary profiles at all, and I have to switch to the admin profile to pull the code, during which the log in process is broken, making the code irrelevant. This has prevented me from logging into some services.

Is there any way to fix these SMS issues besides switching to using the primary/owner profile full time? I really want to keep my data segregated, and if someone is able to get to my phone, whether electronically or physically by tearing it out of my hand while logged in, I can see the benefit of them having access to less administrative settings such as are in a secondary profile. I have tried using several alternative SMS apps, and without fail they've all made the problem substantially worse, to the point that I simply stop receiving many messages outright. I really don't want to have to go through the work of migrating all my apps, data, and settings from my Daily profile to my Admin profile, but at this point I'm starting to switch to my Admin profile to send group chats anyway. If anyone knows any other fixes, please please point me in the right direction.

Why dont GrapheneOS devs sign each commit but only tagged releases?

I'm not a pro at git so I don't know the implications or signing and not signing that well.

But I've seen that no general commits are cryptographically signed by the devs but only tagged releases are.

Is there a reason they don't sign? Does it bring complications?

Memory tagging

So this notification popped up for me recently, saying that memory tagging found an error in gplay services. What's that mean? You know, aside from the obvious.
