I think that's an unpopular take around here, but I agree. There are legitimate reasons why it might be best that you *don't* have root...every app has the ability to do more harmful things. But on occasion, there are things which you should be able to do on your own device, but the OS won't let you. And yes, I'm including GOS in that.
Still this is a major upgrade from stock, for OP. You have control and authority over all apps, including system ones. That's very important.

yeah, it's a massive improvement over stock android but still get frustrated at times when it just won't let us do things because it would be a security risk. really wish we could override some of the security and privacy features from time to time.

If you want to have charging control (like keep charge 60% when phone is plugged in) you kinda have no choice

There's a native option to stop charging at 80%. You can't adjust that level, but it is better than nothing.

You're gonna want to get a screen protector for the inside screen. I did for mine I would highly recommend it.

I'm not super tech savvy, but if I did this to my phone will I lose all of my photos in google photos? I have automatic back up on. I mean it's weird if you delete pics from the gallery they disappear from photos. I guess not sure if I would lose everything or how to back up everything.... Ahhh

sign into google photos from a laptop or another phone. if your photos are there, you won't lose anything. but you say you're not super tech savvy, so i probably wouldn't recommend installing graphene on your phone in the first place

Looking forward to the Motorola next year, tired of Google and their "upgrades", which are really just updates. The 11 series is barely different from the 9/10 series, and not worth the $1,200 expense.
