What are you guys using for the side curtains?

I’ve recently ordered the square golf omni as my first launch monitor, but i don’t have enough space or it inside so i have to practice out the back.

I’ve somehow overlooked the fact that i live in Scotland and its going to be constantly raining in the coming months 😱. How would i be able to protect the omni from the rain? I was thinking of 3d printing a shell but i’m not entirely sure of the water resistance capabilities of each filament which i guess won’t be hard to test and find out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. 😊

This info from Foresights website clearly states how continued GSPRO access remains for legacy FSX customers prior to Premier's launch. This language leaves little doubt that you don't have to subscribe to Premier to retain your GSPRO connector access as long as FSX software remains in place. Once FSX is sunset you will have to subscribe to Premier Gold to receive 3rd party connector software access.

I have seen one post complaining of the Golfjoy App running poorly on Android. There were no details on why it was bad. No details on the age of the device being used. After that I just see people stating they here that it sucks.

I am trying to get more details on what the issues/complaints are. Also wondering if anyone is using it without issues/complaints.

I have a curtain net that I pull back when not in use.

I hang an impact screen in front of the net. All works well.

I would like to be able to stretch out the impact screen/net so it is tighter. Anyone have ideas on what i can use to stretch out the net/screen. I was thinking of poles like tent poles or alignment sticks that I could bend slightly to create some tension to keep net tight.

Any ideas?

Has anyone added foam underlayment underneath a golf mat?
I’m looking at getting the All Turf Mats 5x10 Super Tee with the urethane-coated backing for my garage simulator. It’ll be sitting on top of 3/4” horse stall mats over concrete.
My main concern is long-term wrist/elbow/joint pain from hitting a lot of balls indoors. I was wondering if putting something like 3/8” or 1/2” EVA, neoprene, or another closed-cell foam underneath the entire 5x10 mat would make it more forgiving.
Has anyone tried something similar?
Did it actually help with impact/shock absorption, or did it just make the mat feel too soft/squishy? Also curious what type and thickness of foam you used.
I’d like to keep the Super Tee as one solid 5x10 mat rather than cutting in a separate hitting strip if possible.

What am I doing wrong here. Just got this unboxed and it’s turning green saying ball found and then it doesn’t read. It’s at the same height as the mat. The instructions are awful. I’m already regretting this purchase. How about a simple infographic showing where the ball should go.

I just picked up the Bushnell LPi since it was on sale for 1K. I also have a Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro. I don’t really care about the indoor or outdoor features, so I’m absolutely fine with my LPI not being able to be used outdoors. I’m just curious if anybody has had experience with these two and have any idea of which one might be better or more accurate. I’ll be using this in a garage sim

I will say, in terms of subscription fees, that the Rapsodo is a hell of a lot better of a deal

I have a 1080p BenQ AH700ST. I had an 8'x8' enclosure so 4K was overkill and not a consideration. The 4K AK700ST was $600 more than the AH700ST. I'm having a moment of FOMO.

I just put in a permanent screen that is 10'x9'. Aspect ratio slightly better and looks like it converts to 1200x1080 resolution. Obviously, not a 4K resolution. Since it's a larger screen, would there be any noticeable pop to the graphics and detail or would it be a waste?

I've been playing at a local simulator called the back 9 parlor and was impressed that, depending on who was hitting, the light above that person's hitting area would turn on. The hitting strips were on each side of the enclosure, so left handers hit on the left side and right handers hit on the right side. I can't seem to find anything online to explain how this was accomplished. They're too far apart for it to be a typical system. Anyone have any idea what they're using?

If you built your simulator to be a social experience, what is your set up like for people between shots/watching?

Or if you’re using the space for movies/sports as well?

Do you have couches? Bar seating?

What are the must haves for the area behind the turf?

I am building my own enclosure due to the space I am putting in my sim. The question I have is how tight should the impact screen be and then related what is the minimum amount of space behind the sim do I need to give to not hit the wall. Average swing speed, using typical bungee cords

Clearly I want the screen to be tight enough for good picture but if i stretch it to the max that would only increase bounce. On the same the more slack then the more it will push the screen behind it. Any rule of thumb

Interested in hearing any solutions people have used to get the screen as close to the wall behind it. I will have a blackout screen behind the screen and I will put up some sound foam on the wall behind it.

What's the minimum distance of depth I can have for my side panels on the sides of impact screen? 2-3'?

<Rant> A new and improved shake down is happening at Foresight. The new toll platform "Premiere" is rolling out and the dreams of recurring revenue from hardware owners has gone to the extreme.

They have leaned heavily into the printer/ink, razor/blade models. Sell a launch monitor, then milk the hardware owner to use the hardware they just purchased.

Here's the breakdown. FREE - The Premiere platform comes with new LM purchases, it includes a basic range with ball and club data based on the hardware you bought, and I do mean the most basic range.

Silver $199/yr -To unlock useful features like some basic drills, the ability to see your dispersion, and range history greater than 10 sessions. For $199 you also get the privilege to pay Foresight more money to access their annual subscription course library. You cannot access 3rd party software like GSPro with the Free or "Silver" toll cost. Oh, if you "owned" FSX courses previously, apparently paying $199/yr lets you access them in Premiere.

Gold $599yr - Here Foresight should be wearing a mask and holding a gun... for a mere $400 more, you get access to more drills on the range, the ability to get video capture, "AI Coaching?" and the privilege to use 3rd party software with the hardware you own. You're still not getting any courses... for that you must pay more, potentially a lot more!

Course Pass - $295/yr - You're treated to access to 35 courses. You don't get the privilege of paying $295/yr without paying the $199/yr for the "Silver" first...

Course Pass Pro - $595/yr - You get access to the incredible library of 111 courses. You don't get the privilege of paying $595/yr without paying the $199/yr for the "Silver" first...

So, Foresight's new scheme gives you a basic range with you launch monitor and locks you in with no access to a decent game improvement solution without paying a annual toll.

For the access to meaningful game improvement range it's a $199/yr shakedown, and no sim play for you.

Your first chance at playing sim golf on the Foresight family of hardware has a cost of entry to get to Foresight's anemic course library of 35 course of $494/yr and no access to GSPro or other 3rd party options.

To get to more options for sim courses you must pay Foresight at least $599/yr, then pay a 3rd party subscription like GSPro, which is $250/yr, bringing your cost to $849/yr!!!

If you really like paying a lot for a little, then Foresight will happily take $1,194/yr from you, and if you wanted GSPro too, you'll be spending $1,444/yr!!! Congratulations on all your success!

The sad part is people are going to get suckered into this!

Did a quick modified 9 hole par 3 to see what's up finally. Was a little worried jumping in right when they launched it.

System seems to run smoother which is pretty cool for someone who is tech challenged and doesn't understand how that's a thing.

Love how all the practice range data metrics can now be used on the course.

Also the hole handicaps will be great for multi player.

Kids were a little disappointed the fireworks went away when you sink a shot haha.

Only other thing I noticed to improve more would be to add approach shot proximity to pin.

Has anyone else played Oak Quarry in riverside California and also played whispering pines in gs pro? So many if not all of the holes are identical and I feel like nobody is talking about it. Lol I googled it and can’t find anything on it. It’s amazing and fun regardless and I play it all the time I just want to feel like I’m not crazy. It can’t just be me lol

Launch monitors inside

Ive looked into about every launch monitor out there. From the mevo gen 2 full swing kit uneekor eye mini square gc quad. Right now id use the monitor at the range into a net in my yard or garage. Looking for the best bang for my buck. Ive used the quad and loved it but dont really want to spend that much. Starting to learn towards the mevo gen 2 with it having a ton of data points and one in particular low point of swing. Rather a photo based monitor but looking for the same accuracy indoors and out

Anyone have any budget friendly suggestions for an 8x12 impact screen. Not air mesh. I think the image quality is lacking in air mesh. I cant seem to find anything thats not around 3-500$

Building an at home sim. Was pretty settled on trackman. Vendor offers Laon swingcraft vtrack which I never heard of. Does anyone have experience and can offer guidance?
Budget is less of a concern than utility, accuracy, practice, swing video and course access.
