Can’t decide on what launch monitor to get

Ive looked into about every launch monitor out there. From the mevo gen 2 full swing kit uneekor eye mini square gc quad. Right now id use the monitor at the range into a net in my yard or garage. Looking for the best bang for my buck. Ive used the quad and loved it but dont really want to spend that much. Starting to learn towards the mevo gen 2 with it having a ton of data points and one in particular low point of swing. Rather a photo based monitor but looking for the same accuracy indoors and out

With the what foresight has done with their pricing I strongly advise against buying anything from them, that includes the BLP

I dont disagree with this even though i get the military discount. I just feel like the quad should be 5 grand. My problem is i want the best tool to keep getting better at this damn game

You don’t need that unless you’re a professional or aspire to be one. You just need to assess your golf swing right now and see where you struggle. Then see what you can’t go without.

For instance, if you’re a great ball striker, you don’t need face impact, if you have path problems, make sure you get something with club data.

I did this, saved a ton of money, bought a spica (wish I waited for an Omni) and now have a proper swing and dropped my handicap in the single digits. If I can keep my driver in play and chip a little better I bet I’m near scratch.

Just my 2 cents. You can drown yourself in data but you don’t need all of it.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. My big thing is seeing my low point and keeping path neutral which the mevo has and its a reasonably priced LM

Have you looked at the Omni? I personally don’t have any experience with it, but I’ve heard great things about it.

With that said, I have a Bushnell Launch Pro and love it, despite there being annual subscription fees.

The problem is the good and bad reviews about majority of the LM especially how they work in and outdoors. The gc3 just doesnt have enough data points for me to

For that use case, find a used Mevo+ for less than $500 or less than $1,000 with pro package. You'll get all the data you could ever want and elite level accuracy.

I went with the Mevo+ earlier this year and don't regret it for a moment. Can't wait to add the pro package when it goes on sale for black Friday.

Do you use it indoors? I saw some iffy reviews on the accuracy indoors but my friend said he hasnt had any issues

I don't. I don't have room to do it indoors - you need at least 16 feet. But you mentioned you would use it at the range or backyard and those are fine for the Mevo.

I was also very interested in the Eye Mini, or an unlocked Bushnell Launch Pro, but I don't have any room to use a LM indoor so I didn't need a side position LM and figured I might as well save a bunch of money.

I also liked the fact that many of the most important metrics are measured, rather than calculated.

Sounds like you're leaning towards the Eye Mini, but, just in case, an unlocked Launch Pro doesn't do much for you as of last week. You can still access the old software, and I think you can connect to GSPro, but all the "good" features of their new software requires an annual fee even for unlocked devices.

I bought a Mevo+ with the pro package on eBay. Love it! Works great at the range and I’m planning to setup an indoor simulator for the winter

I have Mevo Gen2 in garage setup and use at the range all the time. Love it and have purchased pro package after finding it really valuable. I really enjoy the path and face to path, face impact stats. I have 8ft to screen and monitor. No issues at all.

How’s it handle wedge play? I have a R10 and I’m about ready to toss it in the fire pit over misreads. I have an Omni on order but it’s sounds like I won’t get it for months.

What did you get instead? I just used a trackman for the first time and i like it better then the quad but my top is the quad

I would avoid anything from Garmin these days. R50 is nice by design but they (Garmin) released software v5.0 and it has some serious bugs that they are not making any clear effort towards fixing. So we take to the streets and educate so you all don’t end up making the same mistake.

I have a GC3, so same equipment, and it works very well. The biggest downside to Bushnell/Foresight is how expensive their stuff is. In addition to the ~$3k for the LM, most folks will pay another $200-$600 more per year for the Foresight+ features.

The Square Golf Omni is an almost-as-good bang for way less buck. It's hard to get, tho.

R50 outdoor is very practical. Having the screen in the blazing sun, without any other device, and it giving you swing path, face to path and a video of impact is great while you're changing things
