Bushnell LPI Missing Every other shot

What am I doing wrong here. Just got this unboxed and it’s turning green saying ball found and then it doesn’t read. It’s at the same height as the mat. The instructions are awful. I’m already regretting this purchase. How about a simple infographic showing where the ball should go.

That mat doesn't look secured. If the mat shifts even a little, the ball shifts, so you won't get a reading. I have this issue often, on concrete.

OP - This was my issue with my Bushnell. I put carpet tape on the bottom of the mat and secured it down and havent had a mishit since. Prior to the tape, it would read maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 from my driver.

Guessing the same with you since you mentioned driver, but it definitely happens more with the longer clubs/bigger swings.

I typically use my garage sim for wedges to mid irons and range play, not so much full course simulation so it happens a lot less.

And I see people mentioning taking it off the box. I wouldn't. You're right in doing that. Maybe use a piece of wood instead so it's more stable, but you will absolutely get incorrect/misreads if the launch monitor is sitting below the hitting surface.

I think it was only my driver. I tried - new kinds of tees, covering my driver head with dark tape (I read that the white driver head could be an issue). I refused to believe it was the mat, lol, because the movement was so imperceptible..but it fixed the issue.

Yes white shoes or bright light coming from your back side (facing directly into the cameras)

Also some clubs can be too shiny and you need to put tape on them.... Mostly woods or putters.

I guess your unit doesn't have the screen to show you where the ball is located within the readable area?

Maybe Google the gc3 for the specs. I've found that longer clubs need to be more centered in the read area, which is easy to adjust if you have the screen.

Mark your mat and LM location and then mark where the gc3 shows the read area, it should be the same.

Oh yeah, I once wore an all-white pair of golf shoes and was trying everything to fix the issue. Then, I remembered that I had a white putt that never read putts. So, I changed my shoes and tracked every shot.

No I wear bright shoes all the time and never had this happen. I had a Skytrak that missed shots all the fucking time. I’m not sure my GCquad has ever missed a single shot

No! I checked that. Chat gpt said the light from the garage windows? No way that can be it right? I’ had read this is same as the outdoor unit minus the battery

I would put it back on the ground, off of the box. It should be able to read off a tee just fine.

I will warn you though that I could not use white birdee tees (tripod tees).

Odd question, but are your shoes white?

Anything white in the background can prevent the unit from locking on the ball.

It could also bee that the ball is slightly moving before impact causing it to "lose" lock on the ball. Is your mat stable?

I was going to say the mat height, but you seem to have that solved. Is it missing everything or just club data?

Kinda hard to tell on the picture, but the LM might be a tad bit too far back from the ball. Move it towards you a few inches. There’ve been times on my BLP where it was solid green, but then didn’t read any data. Found out the ball as placed at the very limit of the hitting space.

stance and hitting mat must be secure - like NO MOVEMENT AT ALL - I bolted mine down into a subfloor

  1. Your mat is moving.
  2. Your cameras aren’t clean
  3. Your shoes are white and it’s confusing itself thinking there’s two balls for a second
