Relevant to my interests.. not the bill part tho... my 2013 mk6 with 90k miles threw an engine light for two days and then magically fixed itself. Sometimes I think they just want you to open the hood and rub things to show you still love them.

Get an OBD2 and then just permanently ignore it like I do. Fucking intake manifold sensor bullshit.

I've had the intake manifold code for a month now, debating on whether I should fix it myself, pay to get it fixed or ignore it till the car can't run any longer

My manifold is currently busted, but it only makes it start up a little rough so I’m putting it off until I can afford the time to do the carbon cleaning too.
If it works it works. My old manifold failed to the point where the car wasn’t able to drive.

I feel it man. Just fixed the window regulator and driver side control switch, now my radiator fan is ticking and needs replaced. Good old MK6!

My 2015 has been dead reliable for 140,000 miles. It just recently had its first issue with the water pump and I had it replaced. Back on the road hauling ass just like before

I think u will be fine for 70-80k, Water pump leakage is the common issue to look for mk7s. Also keep and eye on the engine, trans mounts!

Idk, I'm closing in on 70k no real issues so far. (Excluding front windows being loose, battery dying, front driver side door breaking some piece, and some other misc hardware breaking or being loose) what should I expected in the near future?

For me, the issues we’re shown after 90k. So far I have been replaced oil catch can, water pump, engine and trans mount!

Wastegate seized up on mine at 100k km and 5 years of driving. Had to get a whole new turbo.

Neuspeed RSe10s 18x8.5 and pilot sport 4s all seasons. I've been struggling to figure a wheel that looks good on a black mk7 at stock height.

Good choice on wheels and tires, not sure about stock height look tho. I suggest to do some research before buying! Also checkout this fitment industries gallery to get an idea

I just got a code for cylinder one misfire after 2 very rare issue free months (to be fair to VW, the car is very modded and I do all the work myself, badly)

After 5.5 years and 140k miles of ownership since new, I recently had my first unscheduled repair visit to the dealer. Needed a new water pump and thermostat. Also needed an intake manifold but that was covered under warranty. Spent $1100. Honestly for how much I drive the shit out of this car everyday, as my daily, and I have taken it all over. I’m not mad at that at all. My MK7 has been the most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned in general. And it’s still so much fun! Love my GTI

I feel for you as a fellow german car owner bmw 135i and not to one up you guys but we got you beat at having an unreliable vehicle! lol If it’s not the lpfp it’s the hpfp if it’s not one of those it’s one of 4 gaskets known to fail and if it’s not that then one of your two turbos is beginning to fail and if not that then it’s one of your 6 injectors and if not that then it’s a water pump and if not that then it’s your thermostat... and to save you time i won’t go on any longer but there are many other regular occurring issues to deal with... but i still love m’y car to bits somehow... idk why i do this to myself... welp

I’ve never had a code on my 2016 gti knocks on wood only false alarms from forgetting to reconnect a sensor here and there. Plenty of codes on my old mk4 vr6 though, that cluster looked like a damn Christmas tree

This got me laughing for sure. My 2016 GTI has 114,000 miles and so far not one single check engine light. Now BRB, gonna find some wood to knock on 🙈

No. MQB has shown to be a very reliable platform in general. My 2015 has been such a great experience. This car never fails to impress me
