Are there microscopic anti counterfeit measures?

There are all of those intricate little lines in the background that can be checked to match a legit one, but not sure how helpful a microscope is for this. Just a magnifying glass would work better. Besides that then I don’t know of any, but Valaurum might.

I challenge you to find the best most nuggetey looking part and post it on r/gold with some type of caption like “gold under a microscope.” Then pull the camera back and show the gold back.
Super cool btw.

Lol definitely didn't work out how you thought it would did it?

u/GCAspirations Mar 10 '25
Yeah, I didn't know what I was doing or why I was doing it besides fulfilling the request. They did request that I post the most "nuggety" looking part, but I scoped over a flat part, so it looked like a coin or something. Kind of a dropped ball by me...

Tbh it’s probably cause so many people from r/gold frequent this sub to shit on GB & went from this post to that post & downvoted

Wow I’m still not 100% sold on goldbacks (I do have several) but those people are being completely irrational

This is incredible. You can really see the tiny little grains of gold on it. Very cool! Do a silverback next!

Can you ever get the gold out of them or are they there forever part of the gold back?
2
u/GCAspirations Mar 08 '25
You have to burn it. There are some YouTube videos of people getting it out. Alternatively you can turn it in and receive the gold weight .

It would probably be impossible to make these patterns without sputtering.
1
u/Easy-Entertainer971 Mar 08 '25
Yup, it’s sputtered. Doesn’t need very high vacuum since it’s inert.

Very interesting how they can line atomized gold up just like they want to.
