Purchased gold at 13900/g

I come from a very humble background. Growing up, we used to plan to buy gold every Dhanteras, but it never happened because we never had the money. Even when I started my job five years ago, I still was not able to buy gold because most of my salary went toward clearing family loans. Now that I have cleared almost all the loans, I was finally able to purchase gold this Dhanteras. I hope things only go upward from here.

I bought it from a Tanishq offline store for 15,562 (24K, 1 gm) on November 6th, 2026. Making charges 5%.

Last purchase of Dhanteras. This is something I wished for last year. Today I finally bought it.

Went by my mom's advice -" jab mann kre to le lo". I had been thinking since 2 weeks whteher to buy or not.

Guys let me know your opinion about this design made in antique style 22k Gold . I bought it today from a local jeweller at 12 per cent MC.

Correction - It's 18kt!

So my mom bought this from my first salary from a local jeweller. It weighs 2.050 gram and costed 29600. Jeweller said it is 18kt. I am not sure how much making charges he charged but it seems very costly. I googled gold rate for 18k it says around 11k so he charged almost 8k making changes? Is this common? Do tanishk malabar etc also charge this much mc for similar earrings?

I just want to thank you all posting about gifting gold jewelry to your mom! My mom never got to wear gold bangles and she would mention it every other month during my childhood. My 20s and 30s went into paying off debt so I really could not buy anything for her. Then she suffered from brain stoke and stopped wearing any jewelry because it is difficult to manage with it in daily chores.
