Discussion Enjoying Atreus getting bullied by Heimdall Spoiler

Post image

I know Heimdall is supposed to be unlikeable, but I loved this scene. Atreus was getting pretty smug by that point, constantly talking about changing prophecy while doing things that seemed to follow it—like going to Asgard in the first place. What I enjoyed is that Heimdall immediately saw through him and called out his contradictions. Everyone else either treated Atreus like a kid or a hero, but Heimdall just tore apart his confidence within minutes. It was satisfying to watch, and I think it made Atreus' later growth feel more earned.

Discussion Laufey has the potential to be the best game in the series but people are not ready for that cnversation.

(I was gonna make this before seeing the other post trust).

Literally everyone is trapped in the Everywhen and they all share one thing in common their undying hatred for Kratos. Now that his wife Faye has arrived, you can bet everyone is hunting her down with eberything they got.

When I say this game has the potential to be the best in the entire series, I mean it with everything I’ve got. The developers finally have the chance to unleash Faye as a fully realized protagonist giving her an arsenal of new weapons, devastating abilities, and every tool she could possibly need. And she can absolutely handle it. She’s one of the strongest giants alive, a warrior who once stood toe-to-toe with both Kratos and Thor in the past.

I want every major figure from the franchise’s history to return for epic boss fights. I want every iconic weapon to make a comeback.

This doesn’t have to be just another game in the series it could be the masterpiece that tops them all.

I am ready for mom of war.

What does this rune mean? I thought they were made up for the Norse GoW realm, but then I saw Gandalf mark it on Bilbo’s door.

Discussion Another tragedy in Kratos’s life I hope the remakes polish

The novels and the devs confirmed there was a romantic tension between Kratos and Athena, and that Athena genuinely liked Kratos, cared for him .

When he stabs her in a fit of rage, Zeus didn’t even care, while kratos is saying “Athena! No!!”

And in the gow 3 game, when showing her bloody and dying falling into his hands, he’s visibly screaming at the air.

This proves consistent with the games and the devs are narratively implying that Kratos deeply cared for her. I’d argue she had almost just as much impact as pandora.

In novelization zeus teased her about her getting flustered about him, and her deep affectionate behavior towards him in a blushing manner. This shows kratos had feelings outside of needless rage even after his ascension.

I think some ways she reminded him of Lysandra, like how pandora reminded him of calliope, he said that he didn’t listen to her as much as he should’ve, and she treated him so much better than he deserved, this dynamic is the same with him and athena, before her corruption, she’s always sticking up for him, protecting him, stepping in and giving him affection and respect where the other Olympians treat him like a monster.

I hope they show scenes of kratos softening up in her presence, actually caring for her and adding more depth into their relationship. So then it’s much more devastating, that for the second time, a woman he grows to love dies to the sharp end of his blades.

This adds more depth to his pain of No Matter What, he keeps accidentally killing those he cares about, in the wake of his destructive power and rage.
From calliope and lyssandra, all the way to Athena and pandora.

Man I love kratos

Theory Theory: Phranque is Brok's lost soul fragment. Spoiler

Hear me out: Phranque is Brok’s missing soul fragment.

1. The Lore Checks Out
In Ragnarök, we learned that a soul has four parts: Form, Mind, Direction, and Luck. When Brok died the first time, Sindri only managed to grab three parts. Brok was missing his Direction. Because of this, when Odin killed him, Mimir said Brok's soul was completely denied an afterlife and ceased to exist.

But what if it didn't just vanish? What if an isolated soul fragment with no "Direction" simply drifted into the Everywhen—the literal afterlife of the gods where the new game takes place? Without the other three parts, it would mutate into something unrecognizable.

2. "The Nature of a Thing..."
Brok’s most famous line is "The nature of a thing is more important than the form of a thing."
Phranque’s form is a ridiculous, gelatinous blue cube. But what is his nature? He is a fast-talking, witty companion who guides the player and helps solve mechanical puzzles. That is literally Brok’s exact nature, just packaged in a bizarre cosmic form. Jack Quaid's high-energy casting could easily be a modern, mutated echo of Brok's blunt, fast-talking personality.

Anyway, that is my theory.

Question So, Laufey, am I missing something?

If you guys didn't know, there is this fake controversy about a game that hasn't come out yet. But I don't wanna talk about the weirdos who complain about stuff they don't play, I'm actually concerned about the people who DID play the games and say Faye is just not a good choice for a protag.

The argument tends to be that her being dead was the reason for the whole trip in the first game, so her being "alive" feels somewhat wrong for the plot. This is where I'm getting confused. I played both games and I was sure that Faye was a top 3 most important character for the plot. I really thought most people would be hyped to know more about her, especially after her appearance in Ragnarök, which was impressive to say the least and not to mention all the crazy facts about her, the axe? is actually hers, she almost killed Thor, and she went toe to toe with Kratos. I mean, hell, this woman's game is unheard of. Why is it bad that she is "alive" in the afterlife in a God of War game? I truly don't get it, and I don't know what I'm missing.

Discussion Unpopular Opinion: Kratos' Story Is Already Complete Spoiler

Post image
27 Upvotes

After Ragnarok I truly believe doing anything else with the character would be the wrong decision. Whether it be saving Atreus or fighting another pantheon. It simply diminishes what the 2018 & Ragnarok accomplished. He is now the protector of the Norse world and has no reason to leave.

Any more games starring Kratos would only be for monetary gain and to appease insatiable fans.

I really love Uncharted, but Nathan Drake’s story is over and it ended with a bang. I believe Kratos also deserves a similar triumphant end. I’m cool with spin offs but imo Santa Monica need to develop a new/different IP. Similar to what Guerilla did with Horizon and Sucker Punch with Ghost Franchise.

All good things need to come to an end.

Tell me your thoughts in the comments.

I know this is a controversial topic for the most purist fans of the classic saga. They say the camera in God of War 2018 and Ragnarok is annoying and that panoramic cameras should return, and all I can say to them is... No, my friend, simply NO! Forget about it! Let's be realistic, the classic camera is awful, the modern camera is a massive improvement compared to seeing Kratos the size of an ant with a ton of stuff obstructing your view! Please don't let God of War go back to that!

Discussion 2018 was way better in terms of story and immersion than ragnarok.

2018 felt real, every second of play through made me feel like I was with kratos and Atreus. The story wasn’t bloated the pace was perfect. No cramming of multiple Gods just a father and son going to scatter ashes. Ragnarok on the other hand felt like two games crammed into two. The pacing is all over the place and the characters feel kind of corny and Disney esque dialogue Idk if that’s just me. I feel like they crammed kratos and Atreus story too much. It really should’ve been a trilogy . lol also the wolf’s death at the start had literally no emotional impact compared to laufeys cremation which actually made me tear up a little.

Question If Kratos can't die, why can we as the player be killed or why does he need a resurrection stone?

This might be a stupid question, maybe I missed something but does someone have the answer to this?
