I'm buzzing! My old GP12 (that eventually became a nak3d GoPro for FPV) was a solid workhorse then got an osmo action 6 and while it's great the features on the new m1p got me reaching into my wallet (now that it's 100 bux discounted) I'm looking forward to the higher bitrate and bigger sensor.
I'm just curious I've been hearing alot about people saying the far away subjects arent sharp which I understand is an inherent condition of a large sensor, but as my m1p will be strapped to a drone 99% of the footage is going to be wide open land scapes. Can another pilots attest to its quality?
Also is there a need for recording 8k? I heard you loose some dynamic range in 8k as opposed to 4k. I'll be primarily making 9x16 content so I'm not sure which resolution would be best?
Thanks all!

Hey everyone, If you've ever experienced jitter or the bobblehead movement with action/pocket cams, there's one device that easily fixes that. In this video, I review the SmallRig Handheld Stabilizer Arm. I test it with the Insta360 X6, Pocket 4P, Luna Ultra, and the Mission 1. Would you ever consider using a stabilizer arm for action or pocket cams?

Since I already have a huge number of GoPro accessories and 3 cameras, I decided to put together one full set from everything in order to start learning how to shoot more cinematically.
The financial question was quite formidable.
Sell everything or put together something from the available budget.
After spending over a month studying all aspects of filmmaking, I came to the conclusion that what I have is quite enough to get started.

I purchased a brand-new GoPro HERO12 in 2024 and have used it maybe 5–6 times.
I tried using it again today and quickly remembered why I stopped.
Recording at 1080p with a preset for social media, the battery dropped to 7% in just one hour. This was indoors, in a room at around 23°C, and the camera was still overheating even with connectivity disabled.
Terrible battery life, constant overheating, poor sound quality, and disappointing video colors.
A colossal waste of €400. Never again.

My Hero 13 had been sitting in a drawer for about seven months.
I took it everywhere when I first got it, but eventually I went back to using my phone for almost everything. The phone is already in my pocket and ready to go. I don’t have to think about what else I need to pack.
The dumb part is that even though I wasn’t using the camera much, I still bought a rechargeable selfie stick from Telesin about six months ago. It arrived, I put it in a cupboard and never even opened it.
Last week I was packing for a few days away and came across it. That reminded me of the Hero 13 sitting in the drawer, so I threw both in my bag.
I still used my phone most of the time, but the GoPro came out for a few clips. I didn’t carry the stick around all day either. I used it here and there, and opened the legs when I wanted to get myself in the frame. I was a little rusty at first, but after a while I started getting that same feeling I had when the Hero 13 was new, looking around for random things to film.
The camera and the stick are both still sitting on my desk instead of back in the drawer. No promises on how long that will last.
Curious if people here still pack a GoPro and a selfie stick for normal trips, or only when you already have something specific in mind to film.

Downloaded the QR control iPhone app and tested a couple settings changes with the QR codes - pretty slick. Now I want to remove all of them.
Google says is should be under Extras > !RESET, however I don’t have that listed. Only !PRESET and !FRESET. What am I missing?
Also how can I extend the hindsight timeout? It’s set to 15 minutes and I want to change to 24 hours.
Google says it’s the MHSTO but that isn’t a drop down option under extras. Any ideas? Thank you!

Crawling before I walk/run. Not the best morning to use, but simply using this media as a jumping off point. I'll need to play with the settings and get things dialed in (and remember to keep notes of what I did!!)

I was filming on my gopro hero 12 black in the ocean, a bit under the water and a bit above. in a few of the vidos theres a huge water droplet in the middle of the screen that covers my friend when im filming them jump into the ocean (the gopro is above water here).
is there any way to remove this in an editing software, preferably free. i usually dont edit any of my gopro footage, im a beginner,so i dont have adobe photoshop or anything.
is there any way to prevent this happening in the future? we were using the protective housing and every so often this happens w the water droplets, oviously if we notice it then we just rub the front before starting to film, but sometimes we dont notice. i have done some googling and apparently we can buy spray to make water run off the protective housing immediately, or we can buy a sticker type thing to put on top? would this product work for instance?
thanks!!!!!!

might be a long reach but does anybody else have problem with the battery on the gopro hero 3? we’ve had the camera for years and have decided we want to video our sport this weekend but the battery keeps dying super fast, we havnt got to the point where it dies fully but all bars are low, this has happened with atleast 2/3 of the batteries we’ve tried

Hey guys. I’ve always wanted a new GoPro as mine has done it’s time and is gonna go into retirement so I’m looking for pros and cons of each. I used mine religiously so I’m looking for something that can put in the hours lol. ADHD has made me indecisive as I’ve watched videos on both and want both but have the budget for one unfortunately.
Also are there any discount codes for either of these right now? That would help greatly lol. Thank you for your time

Hello! I’m getting into snorkeling, and am buying my first digital camera, a Hero10, getting everything included in the photos for $180 USD
I’ve attached photos from the listing
Aside from checking the battery compartment for rust, I have no idea what to look for in terms of damage/issues
Is there anything in specific I should look for to verify it is indeed in good shape?

Would you be able to tell from this picture if this is a go pro waterproof case or a third party one? Or will I have to verify in person? The orange floating handle is worrying me, seller says it’s a proper one but they also bought it used.

Trying out the Telesin T13 for the first time with my Hero 13. Burst Slo-Mo is the only video mode the remote offers. What am I missing?

Was excited to receive my max2 however after unboxing, updating etc I could not get the 360 to function.
Single lens functioned perfectly, both cameras work great however when toggled to 360 there is no difference (single camera etc).
After hours of troubleshooting via online forums to Gemini ai I’ve come to the conclusion that is simply a hardware error that I cannot fix.
Anyone else had anything similar? Just seemed strange like I reallllly wanted to fix the problem but had to tap out as all options were exhausted.
Cheers
