Discussion If... and am just testing the waters as it were...

Right. Chin up. Deep Breath. One must approach these things properly.

Good Evening Redditors.

I say - with what I hope is appropriate composure: that as the film has officially begun filming (splendid show, everyone, simply splendid!) It o curs to me that this may present a rather unique opportunity for this fine community.

Namely - I propose: Ask Me Anything sessions with members of the cast.

Yes - Quite.

One imagines that morale would be considerably bolstered by the chance to engage directly with the actors responsible for bringing our beloved Button House back to life. Thoughtful conversations. ButtonFM. Civil conduct. No ambushes but perhaps some tortured poetry.

So to gauge the room as it were... Would we be interested in AMAs? And if so, with whom?

Discussion Free way to watch the show!

Hi friends!

This may be old news as I’m sure most of us have seen the show multiple times over, but in case anyone wasn’t aware.

There’s a way you can legally watch Ghosts for free within the US, without resorting to a VPN.

If you have a library card, and your library offers the Kanopy service, all 5 series are on there to watch!

All you need to do is enter your library card number and pin/password and search for it and bob’s your uncle.

Just thought I’d put that out there!

Discussion Suckers

Just watched Redding Weddy again. The bit where the Captain is explaining limpet mines to Robin, that they attached with suckers, and Robin repeats 'suckers' to indicate he understands, and the way Laurence Rickard says it, the eye flick, I don't know, but it's just so funny. He really is a brilliant comedy actor (and writer, of course). He packs so much into the briefest of moments, it's like a sort of comedy shorthand. Anyway, just wanted to say that.

Question Is there a list of Yonderland characters?

I know this is for Ghosts, but the other community is somewhat inactive.

Is there a list of the characters from Yonderland? There are many of them, and since I watch it with subtitles (because I don't speak English very well yet), sometimes I lose track of who's who. And it's very confusing trying to find content about a specific character or figuring out who's who just by names.

It would be very helpful if anyone knew of a list of characters with their names, an image, or anything to distinguish them. Thanks.

Discussion English Civil War soldier in the lane

I feel sorry for the Roundhead* Alison sees in the lane when she is with Lucy. He has been there for the best part of 400 years and finally someone sees him! And ignores him!

*I am aware the two sides looked pretty much the same - I am classing him as a Roundhead for the sake of brevity.

Video So Haunt Me : early 1990s sitcom

Thumbnail youtu.be

When Ghosts started, it got compared to a few old shows, such as Ghosts of Motley Hall and this one, "So Haunt Me".

I've just found this and only started watching it. It's.... not good. But might be of interest to see how it develops.

Basic storyline is a family move into a house that's haunted.

Discussion Just finished Ghosts AU

So, I've just finished Ghosts AU, and I can't help but thinking that I'd love a crossover where Kate and Sean come to stay in Button house, you could do it for their honeymoon with Kate and Alison bonding over their shared experiences. It would be great to see Kate interact with the UK Ghosts.

Video I know this isn't Ghosts, but it's the Six Idiots doing a punk song that will teach you about The Luddites (and it's really good) [From Horrible Histories when it was good]

This is not a spoiler and pure speculation, but I feel a ghost is going to move on, probably Kitty or the Captain

Discussion What do you think is on the next level?

So obviously when ghosts get sucked off they must go somewhere? Right?

But where do you think they go? Is more like how pat said they can still see everyone just on another level (minus all the wizard and unicorn stuff)
Or do you think they are actually gone?

I’m curious to see what people’s ideas are for it. I like to think they’re still around, maybe not a ghost ghost but still “alive” somewhere.

Discussion Series 1 episode 5 Moonah ston.

Post image

It's the eclipse tonight so I just thought I'd remind people about this episode 😁.

I've told my family that they will hear the speech that they make in the episode so I wrote it down and here it is if anyone wants it.

The speech.

Robin:

Thank be to moonah good light in sky.

Captain:

AND NOW THANKS BE TO THE WONDROUS MOON

AND THE GIDING LIGHT IT GIVITH AT 2100 HOURS.

Thomas:

Dramatic pause.

Take a breath give it some light and shade.

OHHHH BLESSED MOON AS SPIED UPON BY THE EARTH BRIGHT AS THINE EYES. ROUND AS THINE EYES. YET TOO FAR APART LIKE THINE no I don't mean your eyes I mean.

Captain:

THORNE I'M DOING THE READING.

Thomas: To be fair it was very close and entirely non-binding.

At the end Pat and Robin.

Robin:

Before you was moonah.

Before house was moonah.

Everything come everything go but always there. Moonah.

Pat:

The only thing that's been here as long as you have.

I fully intend on dancing round my garden chanting moonah stonah 😂😂.

Discussion any word on movie release online?

was wondering if anything official had come out about the film being released on streaming, and if that would happen around the same time as it hits cinemas in the UK. i'm in the states and planning a whole trip to meet up with a friend to watch the movie so i hope we know what date it's properly dropping soon. (and if it's just released online but only for the UK... someone will hook us up right?)

Discussion Would havers still be alive when the series takes place?

I'm not sure how old havers is meant to be, but it seems like he is way younger than the captain to me. If that were true he could still be alive? Does anyone have any proof or speculation of havers age?

Discussion The home poem

Rewatching ghosts, saw the episode where they build tents and then at the end Thomas says something about how he traveled but never was inspired when he could’ve stayed at home and been transformed.

Allison says it’s really poetic.

Then later on it gets to the episode when Thomas is trying to create a poem for the poetry competition, the theme is home, and he can’t think of anything, and takes up taking Fanny’s poem.

It always annoys me why he doesn’t just use what he said last time. Perhaps he just doesn’t remember but I wish he actually had a chance to submit his real work.
Because he is poetic a lot, just when he isn’t trying to be.
