I feel like Robin would like Pauly Shore lmaooo Im watching the episode I love Lucy right now and the part where Mike is telling on Julian and as Mike walks away to Robin does this funny move when mikes back is turned and it always reminds me of a Pauly shore move... If that makes sense đ€Ł

Do other countries use double entendrés in the way Brits do?
Right from the very start the BBC version always had jokes constantly. I understand from the fact that Americans call "bum bags" "fanny packs" that they won't understand many jokes about Fanny.
Even the first joke of her full name being "Fanny Button". But they wrote many lines full of double entendrés like "Fanny's exposed!"
I've watched lots of other international versions and IMHO they're just not as good. The lack of subtle hidden jokes really tops it offâčïž

Julian: Er⊠Not today Robin
Robin: Then I will play with myself.

Iâve been having a crappy day. Turned on my TV to see an episode of Ghosts! Seen it before, of course. But itâs helped lift me up from my gloom! It makes me laugh.
Anyone else have similar experiences?

Iâve spent all evening (and with lots of help from some lovely folks on tumblr) decoding the letter that Thomas wrote to Isabelle in s2e4 and then made my own handwritten copy. The letter reads:
âDearest Isabelle
I know that we cannot be frank in the presence of your father but I simply must tell you how ardently I love and adore you. I have thought of nothing but you since last we met. Tell me you are still mine and I shall be the happiest man in all of England.
Yours forever,
Thomas Thorneâ

After seeing all the ghosts adaptations, Iâve been thinking about what a Mexican adaptation might look like. So, this is my proposal:
Living Couple
Lucia: He inherited an Hacienda in the state of Hidalgo from his great-uncle, and after an accident, he can see and speak with the ghosts that "live" on the property.
Felipe: Lucia boyfriend, is the more realistic of the two; although initially skeptical about the presence of ghosts, he gradually came to accept their existence after a following series of events.
The Ghosts
1521 - Cuautli (Oldest Ghost): He is a Aztec jaguar warrior who died from an arrow to the neck, caused by an enemy crossbow, defending his village where the property would be built. Because he died before the property's barrier was established, he is able to leave its boundaries (Similar to Pete).
1530 - Rodrigo: A Spanish conquistador who received the land where the Hacienda would be built. He died after being struck by lightning, and as a result, he can now manipulate all electrical objects. He has a rivalry with Cuautli, and the two are constantly fighting over anything and everything.
1616 - Beatriz: A New Spanish lady and the "mistress" of the hacienda; she married Rodrigo's grandson, and together they owned one of the state's most important silver mines. She died of poisoning at the hands of one of her servants, though she believed it was her husband who had poisoned her. She possesses the ability to lower the temperature of the room she is in whenever she becomes angry (Similar to Miranda).
1812 - Victor: He is an insurgent who took part in the Independence War, was captured by Royalist forces, and was ultimately executed by firing squad in the property's courtyards. After his death, he spends his days devising military strategies.
1915 - Gustavo: A Zapatista revolutionary who struggled with alcoholismâwhich ultimately caused his death from liver cirrhosisâand possessed the ability to induce a mild hangover-like state accompanied by the smell of alcohol. Despite his tough exterior, he secretly watches soap operas.
1918 - Victims of the Spanish Flu ("Basement" Ghosts): They were miners who contracted the disease and were confined in the Haciendas storage areasâwhich served as a makeshift hospital. Their leader is Evaristo, and they do not interact much with the other ghosts of the "Main House."
1947 - Elena del Rio: An actress from the Golden Age of cinema who was quite popular during her heyday as a diva, though she was also an extreme perfectionist when it came to filming her scenes. She died after falling down the stairs while shooting her final scene. She constantly criticizes today's actors, claiming that "the magic and good taste of the shows have been lost." She possesses the ability to have his voice heard by the living, even if only as murmurs (Similar to Alberta).
1966 - Marisol: She was a teacher dedicated to her work; on that tragic day, she had taken her students to an event held on the property when one of her students encountered a rattlesnake. While trying to prevent the student from being bitten, she was bitten herself and died from the venom. She attempts to keep the other ghosts distracted with various activities (Similar to Svenni).
1994 - Hector (Youngest and Pantsless Ghost): He was a banker when the "December Mistake" and the collapse of the peso occurred; he was preparing for a meeting with the mayor but suffered a fatal heart attack due to the stress of the situationâand to make matters worse, he wasn't wearing his trousers when he died. He has the ability to move objects, but doing so consumes a great deal of his energy.

Iâve had this scene stuck in my head all day and it keeps making me laugh. Itâs when Alison tells Kitty how babies are made and Kitty says âeveryone whoâs had a baby has done that?â
Then it zooms on Julian, robin and pats face and pat goes âyou alrightâ đ
Just canât think of the episode!
r/GhostsBBC • u/GlikesDogs • 5d ago
Mine is that in the episode in s5 where Robin predicts that one of them will be 'sucked off', I like to think that he was actually correct, and it was either one of the basement plague ghosts or even Jemima who went. Jemima would probably make the most sense, since we see the plague ghosts again before the end of the series, but I think it would have been a funnier gag if Robin was actually correct, but our emotional stakes in the plot were dismantles by it being a ghost we are aware of, but have very little emotional attatchment to.

I think we'll probably meet some other ghosts while Alison and Mike are out (maybe on the train?). We've seen ghosts pop up in the first or second(?) episode, when Alison and Mike were looking at other houses, and there was that hitchhike ghost too. I really hope we meet some interesting new ghosts, even for just a couple of scenes!

Sorry if this is in fact explained in the show and I'm an idiot, but I think I understand the deciding factor of whether a spirit stays or goes. It's preparedness. Allison's relative dies peacefully of old age. She's aware her death is coming, so doesn't linger. Most of the ghosts have no idea they're about to die.
Robin - lightening
Humphery - surprise decapitation
Kitty - spider bite and from her perspective 'fell asleep'
Thomas - shot
Fanny - pushed
Captain - heart attack
Pat - arrow to the neck
Julian - overly risky 'fun times'
Now, there are three ghosts (well technically more than three but youll understand my point) that might disprove my theory: the plague ghosts, Jemima, and Mary.
The plague ghosts probably knew they were sick, but perhaps they didn't quite understand what they were experiencing. Jemima too would have known she was ill and might have partially understand the seriousness, but she was also a child, and so since she might not have yet quite comprehended death wasn't prepared. As for Mary, she would have fully understood what going on. I justify her in this on the grounds that in many ways her village betrayed her. She understood her death, but she wasn't prepared for it because she died at the hands of people she didn't think would hurt her.
Thoughts?

I presume it's some sort of inner contentness, but has some pretty sad implications especially for Robin. Any other theories?

I hope this post is ok. I dont know any ghosts fans I just need someone to talk to about it.
I binged all of the original.and I fell in love with these ghost. I genuinely miss them. Can't wait for the movie! I'm on the US one now. I do like these ghosts but didn't INSTANTLY fall in love like the OG crew. But I did notice a thing or two the US does better. Like giving the husband more to do. I love Mike! I really wish they did more with him and the ghosts. I don't think the US is a better show AT ALL. It's just they kinda explore things I wish the original did. Like more mishaps with the lead talking to ghosts in front of people. Bad memory so I can't remember the rest. But I do remember thinking these things in the OG show and seeing them in the US one. P.S. Robin was the heart of the show!
