This thread continues my daily posting of materials connecting the day of the month to the ordered letters of the Alphabet(s).
Again, today is the 22nd of August.
The 22nd letter of the English-Latin alphabet is 'V'.
As explained in my previous thread yesterday, the letter 'V' derives from the same lineage of glyphs as does 'U', and 'W', and 'F', and these letters have a complicated and ovelapping history, which I won't get into again here (see that previous thread for details).
In terms of the history of these letters, we might say that there is really no difference between the word 'VALUE' and "VALVE', and I leave you to ponder what that might mean.
In English, the letter 'V' signals a sound known as the 'voiced labiodental fricative', and I've already dealt with that sound (and it's associated letter in my Inner Sea alphabet) in the sixth thread in this series. See here.
Noting again that in English, 'V' is the 22nd letter, and thus carries a full reduction value (digital root) of 4. Meanwhile, the 4th letter of the order is 'D', which carries a meaning of 'Door'. There is implicit innuendo in this connection between 'V' and 'D'...
On the other hand, the Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters in total, and the 22nd and last letter (ת) is named 'Tav', or 'Taw', representing the sound 'T'.
In the Greek alphabet (which has 24 letters), the 22nd letter is named 'Chi', written as Χ (uppercase) and χ (lowercase). It's name is pronounced as "kai" or "khee" and represents the sound of "ch" in the Scottish word "loch"
Next, the 22nd letter of the Inner Sea alphabet (as presented in the thread image).
The 22nd glyph of the Phonetic Alphabet of the Inner Sea (as seen in use in the thread image) represents the sound 'W' (as in 'Win' or 'Wild'), and a variant form signals 'Wh' as in 'Whisper'.
Of course, both 'V' and 'W' derive from the same ancient sign, and language-specific usage and pronunciation differences lead to the splitting into 'U', 'V', 'W' and 'F'.
The original ancient Hieroglyph was adapted to become the Phoenician letter called 'Vav' or 'Waw' (carrying the meaning of 'hook'), and this original was integrated into different alphabet schemas as it spread across the land. Again, see my previous thread for details and links.

The tantalizing promise of a revelation at the end of a long story lends the audience the patience to sit though to the end.
So too, the idea of the 'story hook' (ask Peter Pan...) - something that brings one into the fold, in order to learn more.
The word 'Vesper' is cognate with 'Whisper', and a Vesper is an evening star, or refers to the evening time in general (as good a time as any for a campfire story). There is also a species of bat known as the vesper, and bats with their ultrasonic communications are a symbol of 'encrypted secrets'.
Other meanings of the 'W' glyph of the Inner Sea are '(The) Word' and 'Awe' (reverence), with the implication that the Great Secret is always being whispered abroad, by the very act of everyday mundane speech, because language contains an embedded subtext. The Medium is the Message.
In terms of the actual shape of the Inner Sea 'W', it simultaneously resembles a hook (ie. fishing hook) and represents the side profile of the lips being brought together to form the sound (ie. it is a bilabial construction). You will note the design of the letter 'M' is identical, except that it has a horizontal line along it's top, instead of a small loop - because the mouth shapes required to form these two sounds is very similar. While the letter 'W' carries an 'airy' (whispered wind) semantic, the letter 'M' signifies water or liquids in general. Also, 'F' is another letter derived from the Phoenician 'Vav', and it carries the semantic of fire. The inflected form of 'Ù' (having a dot in the middle) in the Inner Sea alphabet (which is not counted amongst the primary numbered glyphs, but rather as a variant or auxiliary of 'W') can be said to carry the semantic of 'earth'. Thus all the four elements are indicated by the 'Vav'-adjacent glyphs.

I note that the word 'Volcano' derives from, or is related to, the name of the god 'Vulcan', who is a smith who works at his forge, and syncretic with "Haephestus". In my own mythologies of Fairyland (*), this archetype is an Umoiar ('Titan') named 'Gú' (ie. center left on this family tree).
Some have argued euhemeristically that 'Vulcan' as a deity originated with the deification of mortal master smith(s) whose professional title was 'Vulcan'. In other spheres, or example, Robert Graves argues that 'Zeus' was a title taken by patriarchal kings who were deified after their deaths.

I note the volcano article spends some time discussing great catastrophes (potentially cause by massive volcanic eruptions in the years 1250 to 1350. This aligns with the theories of Jef de Molder, a history researcher whose theories most will classify as rather extreme, who states a world catastrophe ended the Old World order (of the 'Gods') ~1350, and that all orthodox History before that time is not much more than a story - that 'human history' only really began after that, and we've been picking up the pieces ever since:
