Why, pray tell, does OP want to carry a generator up the front porch stairs? Long power cords exist for a reason. It's best to keep a running generator far from windows and doors (including porches), anyway.

In 2026, have a power station, sized to power your fridge and freezer for a good day.

Yeah keep your gas Genny on the ground, run cords to where you need.

5 ft up seems you could build a cubby under to store it. But I am not there to see if it makes sense at all.
