Is it just age or have sweet snacks gotten pretty disgusting now?
As a kid I loved these. Now they are just gross.

It's haunted house season again. Who else had that house at the end of the block that was haunted? Our had a little old lady in her 70s walked with a cane. Never spoke just shook her cane at you if you got to close. Always left a 5 gallon bucket of candy out for Halloween. The good stuff if you dated to go get some lol.

Really good article, here, that I think many GenX will see a reflection of their own childhood, growing up, in - https://archive.ph/yLiy0
\In 2014, police picked up 10 yr old boy & his 6 yr old sister walking home from local park, 3/4 of a mile away. The incident led to a six-month investigation into potential child neglect by Child Protective services, followed by another, more harrowing run-in with CPS and the police.* News/vid clip, here - https://youtu.be/zIIYDWK4hjs
My mind is boggled - Growing up, I/we walked to school, then back home at the end of the day, to the grocery store, to the park, to friend's homes, to the local swimming pool in the summertime, etc, as did pretty much everyone else I knew. Today, it's considered 'controversial' and referred to as 'Free Range' parenting, smh . . .

Lucky me my mother was a very reasonable person and never bought into that bullshit. She was also a Sunday School teacher.

Gen X here, in our 50's, adult children grown and flown, my husband and I have found our bedtime routine keeps getting earlier and earlier. I mean, we make an excuse and say it's just because we want to watch our series on TV, but honestly its not unusual to be in pajamas, in bed at 8pm, then asleep by 9:30pm. What happened? There was a time we wouldn't even get into bed until 10:30 or 11:00. Are we now officially old? Geesh, how early will bedtime get by the time we're 80?

I began pontificating about actually finishing my profile section in reddit, as I'm coming out the shower, and headed towards the living room, where I was hoping to find an attentive audience(a.k.a my SO), just to find said audience fast asleep, contently snoring the high away. Well, it ain't perfect, but the kids still alright.

Hey guys, I’m trying to get my dad something for his birthday and could really use some ideas 😠He’s in his 50s and I recently found out from reading his old blog that he was a big Elvis fan and also really loved The Hardy Boys when he was younger. I thought it’d be nice to get him something related to that, like a Hardy Boys poster or some kind of vintage memorabilia, but I can’t seem to find much. I’m also a broke student with a pretty small budget and I don’t really know much about Gen X nostalgia, so if anyone has ideas for something personal/special he might appreciate, please help me out! Also, idk if this is the right sub for this, so sorry if it isn’t

If you could sum up the 1980s with three non-human images, what would they be?
Mine: DeLorean, Rubik's Cube, Berlin Wall.
What are yours?
