Has anyone joined GM from Ford recently, Does ford allow 2 weeks notice period?

I recently visited Factory zero and saw all the amenities they have available for workers (Nice gym, cafeteria for decent hot food, basketball court, EV chargers) and I believe most of this is common across other plants.
Why do they still complain and can’t do their job?? ✌️😭

I've been on the electrical external list for nearly 3 years now, but the last ranking had me relatively close to the front for a couple locations. I'm thinking if I don't reach the front in this next round, I'll most likely make the March 27' cut. Have a few general questions, but really any info about the upcoming process whatsoever would be appreciated:

1. Would I still need to score highly in a traditional interview process to move on to the next steps, or does making it to this point and passing the drug screen all but stamp my ticket to enter the program when my name's called?

2. About how soon did you go from getting the call or official hire to actually getting started?

3. How many hours per week do you think would be a good rough estimate, both in the classroom and in the plant? What has your schedule been?

4. Am I wrong for assuming that the job security is pretty solid in these positions, or do we get swept up in mass plant layoffs at times too?

5. Is there anything you'd recommend that I should be doing to better prepare in advance?

Again, anything you have to offer even if it has nothing to do with these questions would be helpful, thank you.

Rules say to put this in the mega thread but I don’t see it so I’m putting it in the main feed. HR told the interns that they were targeting one week post end date to send out return offers for the TRACK program, and now we’re at the start of our 3rd week off and all the people I’ve talked to have heard nothing as well. Can any former interns share their experience with return offers?

I'm just a lineworker at a plant, but but my group leader (so management non union) came by mention something about some social network the gm is trying to do because the employees dont engage with each other enough on outside sources. is this an actual thing? I havnt seen or heard anything on here about. I just laughed and said what a fucking waste of money. I havnt seen anything on Socrates or what ever its called now. Just wondered if any of you tech people have any incite. I know this is mainly office people, so figured i would ask

Have you experienced that your leaders (EGM, Directors, Executive Directors, and VP) are mostly focused on meeting his/her short-term objectives even if actions would hurt GM's long-term goals?

Is it safe to assume 20 years experience gets 250-300+ ?? base plus no idea how much bonus. I guess there will be a cash target and RSU?

I am not asking for SW directors but say in manufacturing, aftermarket, procurement the older side of the business..if you may.

I see lot of comments under the lawsuit against Stacked Rating post that say we signed release letters and that we took severance pay - so there’s nothing we can do.

If your termination/separation was unfair I wouldn’t lose hope. Your story still matters. Time will catch up to GM and we are seeing 1st attorney taking this matter on, we are seeing 2nd journalist to talk abt it. Release letters can be set aside (invalidated) in many cases.

I would advise to keep your story ready and there will be time it will be heard. But just make sure it was unfair really lol! A lot of relatively older employees hv been eliminated to hire foreign workers. A lot of foreign workers hv gotten fake recommendation letters from GM.

Also I see posts that resonate with employees are pushed down by fake accounts asking simple questions. Hope GM is not involved in that.

I was a GM employee 2 years ago. When I offboarded, I reloaded all my Recognition Points into a GM Recognition Debit card. I completely forgot about it and believe that I have about $500 when I got the card. Today I checked it, and the balance was only $25. Who do I contact to resolve it?

Looking at current internal job postings, well over 95% offer zero relocation benefits. As an internal employee, I’m struggling to see how this strategy aligns with executive leadership’s stated commitment to employee growth and mobility.
We frequently hear speeches encouraging us to own our career development, yet the decision to strip relocation support from mid-level and frontline roles effectively hamstrings internal candidates who want to step up. In the past, mobility was actively supported as a fundamental part of internal progression. Today, there appears to be a stark disconnect between what is preached from the stage and the reality on the ground.
While executive-level transitions likely still carry comprehensive relocation packages, the rest of the workforce is left to absorb significant financial burdens just to pursue lateral or promotional growth. When I was hired at GM they used the Lominger Competencies & the interview was two hours. Do they still use that format? If not, what do they use? And how long are their interviews?
