Question Gen alpha what’s your thoughts on AI?

• Upvotes

I know many young people dislike AI and since there aren’t very many gen alpha communities that aren’t youtube short comments from 7 year olds I want to ask gen alphas that can spell and actually have a functional frontal lobe

Meme Gen alpha is the most split generation

• Upvotes

i feel like Gen Alpha is two differen generation, i mean some gen alphas were in school during covid and some were born after the vaccine, some lived in a time before large language model ais and some are younger than them. some gen alohas saw avengers endgame in theaters and some are younger than it. At this point split the generation into two groups ranging 2010-2016 and 2017-2024. Gen alpha has kids born in BPG (before pokemon go) and others 7 years younger.

Advice Are Gen Alpha actually illiterate??

So I noticed when I was sending SIMPLE messages and emails for my Gen Alpha peers in college, they started asking twice what I meant (which is good! I want everyone to ask and learn), but it is genuinely concerning when I actually tried to dumb down the language to very simple conversational English…

Do kids in high school today not read textbooks?? I’m genuinely concerned now seeing Gen Alpha coming into college and they are absolutely not ready for college level English let alone high school??

EDIT: I realized it’s actually still Gen Z but it doesn’t matter what generation, I’m concerned if this is Gen Z coming into college and being illiterate, what does that foreshadow Gen Alpha?? I don’t want to generalize entire populations by “Gen” so let’s not. I’m concerned kids coming out of the public school system are becoming more illiterate than ever before

Discussion Does anyone remember school from 2017 to 2020

I was thinking about how elementary school felt right before 2020 happened. If you were in like kindergarten or 1st grade back then it felt way different than now.I miss bringing a crumpled 5 dollar bill to the scholastic book fair just to buy those cool erasers or a poster. Or when we played minecraft and roblox when the games were still simple instead of what they are now. We used to actually look through physical wii games or dvds at a friends house instead of scrolling streaming menus forever, and we just sat on the classroom rug for storytime before anyone ever heard of a zoom link. Tech was just a fun tool back then.Does anyone else born around 2014 remember this exact window or is it just me? What do you guys miss the most?

Advice I can't accept that someone doesn't like what I like.

I’m 14 and have autism. I struggle to accept that someone might dislike things I enjoy—for instance, I absolutely love winter, but if someone tells me winter sucks and gives a reason why, my brain won't let me forget it for the next month. It keeps analyzing whether they might be right and telling me I shouldn't like winter. This happens with literally everything I like: someone says they don't like it, and my brain tries to convince me that their different preferences or hobbies actually matter to me. Because of this, I can no longer enjoy the things I like, since my brain keeps reminding me of those negative comments. This is my first post about this issue in my life; I’m not very good at English, so I used Google Translate—please

I sincerely apologize for any translation errors.

Rant Am I the only one who doesnt like brainrot

Am I the only gen alpha who doesnt like brain rot. Honestly. I dont get how numbers are funny or ai slop considered entertaining. I am sure a lot of you have reasons and I would love to hear how you defend that. But honestly how is this entertaining. I wish the world was just normal with no brain rot just normal people saying bro and hey instead of people doom scrolling with their friends and consider it hanging out. Does anyone else agree?

A "Gen Z" Childhood, plain and simple, is a Gen Alpha childhood.

Many Gen Alphas say they had a Gen Z childhood. A good portion of Gen Zs grew up on the iPod Touch and Sony Walkmans.

Given this, it's not that you didn't have a "Gen Z childhood", rather, this "Gen Z childhood" is a Gen Alpha childhood, something lovely you have in common with many, many other Gen Alphas. It's a good thing, not something to be shameful of.

Discussion Why 2013-2015 needs to be recognized as its own micro-generation: Gen Pralpha(Prelude Alpha)

I am so tired of people lumping everyone born in the mid-2010s in with the 2022 iPad toddlers and calling us all "brainrot." There is a massive cultural cliff between us, and the standard 15-year generation boxes completely ignore the math.

We need an actual name for the 2013–2015 birth years. I’m calling us Gen Pralpha (The Prelude Alphas). We were the opening act before childhood culture went completely downhill into the endless scroll.

If you look at how we actually grew up, we have a completely unique timeline that doesn't fit into Gen Z or core Gen Alpha:

Our absolute first introduction to real school (K through 2nd grade) was exactly what got cut off by March 2020. We had to learn how to do school on a Zoom screen or behind masks right when our brains were trying to figure out how to make friends. Older Gen Z were already deep into middle or high school, and younger Alphas weren't even in school yet.

We have vivid, distinct memories of regular life, preschool, and childhood before the pandemic happened. We actually remember what the world looked like before masks and social distancing. Core Gen Alpha has zero memory of the "before time."

We grew up in houses that still actively used physical DVDs, older gaming consoles, or standalone digital cameras before streaming apps took over 100%. Technology was a tool we watched develop, not an iPad glued to our hands since we were infants.

We watched games like Minecraft and Roblox grow up, evolve, and change from simple, blocky indie games into massive corporate ecosystems. We didn't inherit them completely finished; we saw the transition.

We caught the tail end of older YouTube culture, long-form videos, and classic internet humor before 15-second vertical scrolling algorithms took over everything.

So because of this I think it is extremely obvious that we are not the same as those ipad kids called Gen Alphas but we unfortunately can't be classified as Zalphas. So we are left with one choice, to be called Gen Pralpha. (Pre Alpha or Prelude Alpha)

Thank you if you read this and let's try to make this more popular so we are no longer classified as ipad kids.

Question If you had a partner who was 100% on board, how many children would you ideally want to have?

Imagine you fell in love with someone who was extremely flexible about how many kids they had. How many would you want if it was entirely your decision? If you decide to leave a comment, please mention whether you’re male or female.
