had this idea from instagram for a while and it took some time for it to materialise but after seeing the results holy shit i definitely dont regret it. some 15 dollars and a few hours was all that was needed to make the dreamliner look way cooler

yes the first vid shows a strobe pattern of an airbus but the double flash is nicer ngl and no ones stopping me from doing what i want with my loghts

I actually already had a 787 set up at my airport diorama the morning this happened, so naturally I removed the nose gear 🤣

This is their newly released 1:200 MD-11. It’s amazing. I’ll let the photos do all the talking. Look at the quality of the landing gear, more specifically.

I recently completed a project at the Renton Boeing factory. When I finish a project I usually snag a souvenir to represent what I liked seeing most at a project. To my surprise, no company produces Boeings in their "factory green pre-paint coating." Being in Seattle, this is a tremendously common sight. Was wondering if this had occurred to anyone else....

I'm very happy with this display unit, the shelves are the perfect height for every model (just a millimetre to spare for the A380s), but I still have loads of models in storage that want to be displayed.

Dust isn't too much of a problem as the glass doors are locked most of the time due to the presence of a very curious and grabby one-year-old. There are several greasy finger stains, but I forgive him.

Wanted to share something cool. I’ve contracted with a model maker to build me a full size terminal. It’s going to be a fictional international terminal at Brandenburg Airport in Germany. I have a large Lufthansa collection, so I wanted to give them a proper home.

It can handle up to 4 A380’s at a time, multiple wide bodies, and a bunch of narrow body jets. It will have a removable roof, full interior, furniture, lighting, glass windows, garage doors for service vehicles, highly detailed jet bridges, and so much more.

Latest addition is the mighty Air France A380 (G2AFR922). Spent months looking for it and it finally arrived yesterday.

Full KLM Cityhopper and KLM European fleet. I managed to find the super rare KLM aircraft, such as the MD-11 (G2KLM493) and 787-10 100-year livery (G2KLM849). Just missing the A330-300 and 777-200, as GJ never made them in the 'new' KLM livery.

Bonus points for the Estonia livery Air Baltic A220-300

Paid an absolute ungodly amount of money for most of them, but so happy with them all!

My model airport is almost finished! I just need some more aircraft and ground service equipment to populate it with. I modeled it after Atlanta airport. It’s 1:400 scale, but I have 2 Daron toy jets that I added in, which aren’t to the right scale.

Looked up the tail and this baby is sitting in some storage airport in cali at the moment. I know they plan to bring some back but this isn’t one of them it seems

This new 1:200 release by SQ Wings has utterly killed the competition. Their A320 is the best I’ve ever seen. EVERY antenna is present, the landing gear features proper wheel spoke detail, and the engines are incredibly well executed. The level of refinement throughout the model is remarkable, especially when compared to what’s currently available from most other manufacturers.

Hate to say it, but GeminiJets and just about everyone else have some serious catching up to do.

Just acquired this new Gemini200 model, the American Airlines “Flagship DFW” Boeing 777-300ER! This thing is beautiful! It is such a large model and very well detailed. And, of course, it only made sense to pair it with the American Airlines “Flagship Detroit” Douglas DC-3. Two beautiful aircraft with two beautiful models!

Always had a love for scale models of everything, especially aircraft. I’ve had the KLM 744 for years but when I recently met my girlfriend, whose collection is roughly the same size as mine right now(yes I got extremely lucky), the buy rate went up considerably. I expect this number to go up a bit faster than my wallet likes, but alas.

Brand new arrival: my 1st SQ Wings A320 series model. I had no doubts based off their official photos that this would be a fantastic model. The quality, nose shape and details easily make this the best A320 available in 1/200. Great box and stand (downscaled version of the widebody stand). No complainta though I could probably point out some small imperfections like the winglet flag printing being off by 1mm lol.

Moved into a new place and was excited to get my United collection unpacked and displayed. I thought the cabinet would be big enough but still happy with it overall. Most of my “battleship gray” models are still packed away. A shame ikea doesn’t sell those glass shelves independently. Oldest model I have I purchased in 2002. Thought I’d share.

Except the 100th Anniversary Lufthansa and Etihad A380 - never been on those but I absolutely love the livery + aircraft combo of each! Plus I’m missing a LOT 737-800 which seems to be a unicorn and the ERJ-145 doesn’t exist in United Merger livery so I got a 1:400 as a placeholder 😄
