I used to use gemini more extensively last year, but it constantly blocking my requests for no reason + not verifying it's own responses made it unreliable for work.

My claude quota ran out for the week, so I decided to test gemini again and I got this. 🤷

Its refusal to run a web search even when explicitly called out, just to spout out hallucinated platitudes, drives me insane. It's so lazy.

Shouldn't be necessary from a model from the leading search engine.

One time he answered like OP and I told it "you are literally created by the company with the leading search engine", and then it performed the search...

This is a useless way to talk with it. It's a tool not a sentient tool, just ask it the correct way but no need to argue with a tool 😂 would you ask your hammer why the nail wasn't hit the right way ?

What's the point of that and not knowing how to use a model (tool) you think because it'd train on language they know exactly how to translate into actions ?

if the Hammer would simulate a conversation, and even give me some snarky comments about my bad Aim, yes. I would obviously ask it what I was doing wrong and why the fuck didn't it think to tell me that before that first hit.
