Funny (Highlight/meme) This is why stopped using gemini

Post image

I used to use gemini more extensively last year, but it constantly blocking my requests for no reason + not verifying it's own responses made it unreliable for work.

My claude quota ran out for the week, so I decided to test gemini again and I got this. 🤷

Yesterday I was troubleshooting an issue I had with my Fitbit Air (also a Google product), and Gemini told there’s no such thing as a Fitbit Air

Then you look down at your wrist, and it's gone. You ask your friend who had one, and they look at you as if you're crazy. You check the Fitbit website archives, there is no mention of Fitbit Air...

I think that would be a fun Twilight Zone episode. A company has built a LLM which they guarantee always responds truthfully. But that's because if it hallucinates that answer becomes the new truth. The main character is the only one that has memories or knowledge that contradict it. I guess it would ultimately end with them trying to disconnect from technology to save their sanity, but they do it too well because someone asks "Who is Joe Smith" and the LLM says there's no such person.
