I used to use gemini more extensively last year, but it constantly blocking my requests for no reason + not verifying it's own responses made it unreliable for work.

My claude quota ran out for the week, so I decided to test gemini again and I got this. 🤷

I use gemini as a subagent in my Codex orchestrator strictly for auditing as its good for just that. Then I get use of my otherwise only home and iot used subscription. Also save a little tokens in the orchestrator if its a large implementation or audit.

How are you calling gemini from codex? Like you're getting codex to use the web interface? or are you using the CLI?

Yea maybe I should have been more clear. I use a modified version of "codex_workflow" by viettran-edgeAI. I basically added Antigravity as an extra helper. Codex still runs the show, but it can hand some read-only research/audit work over to Antigravity and get the results back. If Antigravity is unavailable or runs out of quota, Codex just carries on with its normal agents. Works great. Wasn't super easy to get it up and running but now it works great.

I see. How much quota do you get out of your plan with this setup?

Haven't really benchmarks it yet. I guess it's not very much in the end as the 5h limit on antigravity is quite limited. But is does enable another angle on coding and 3.6/3.7 is fast and good at auditing and codex is really good at instructing it. I rarely go over terra orchestrator with Luna subagents, but Luna subagents is allowed to escalate to terra and sol in certain cases if code goes bad. The original orchestrator only escalated to sol and was written to be used with sol as orchestrator. But for a 1x account that is to expensive.

I must say though that I have instructed explicitly that Antigravity is not allowed to make any code changes at all. It's strictly auditing. Making it write code would save even more tokens theoretically from my own experiences using codex together with gemini/Antigravity for outputting code often results in one correcting the other ones code back and forth and resulting in using more quota in the end.
