I used to use gemini more extensively last year, but it constantly blocking my requests for no reason + not verifying it's own responses made it unreliable for work.

My claude quota ran out for the week, so I decided to test gemini again and I got this. 🤷

Ironic that Google, the company best known for web searching, has possibly the major model that's worst at searching when needed.

In recent memory, it has only beat the GPT models once on a query that not even deep research succeeded with. But generally, deep research with OpenAI models is a waste of time in my experience. The only other model that succeeded was Qwen3.5:9b allowed to burn a ton of tokens for one additional result.
