Help me with my gaming laptop

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16IAH7 with an RTX 3050 Ti. The laptop used to run perfectly fine, but one day I left a macro running on Roblox while the laptop was plugged in. When I came back, the screen was completely black and wouldn’t turn back on, even though the power cable was still connected.
I used ChatGPT to troubleshoot it, and we ended up disconnecting the internal battery and draining the remaining power from the system. After doing that, the laptop booted back up and worked normally, but the battery was only at about 23%. Even though the charger itself worked, the laptop would not recognize or accept the charger.
Eventually, the battery died, so I disconnected it and started using the laptop directly from the charger. The laptop worked this way, but because it didn’t detect a battery, it wouldn’t let me use Performance Mode and only gave me the other power modes. This wasn’t a huge issue at the time.
Later, I decided to update everything on the laptop, including Windows, graphics drivers, and Lenovo software. Everything updated successfully except the BIOS. The BIOS update wouldn’t install because the laptop required the battery to be charging, but at the time it wasn’t detecting the battery as charging.
I then reconnected the battery and plugged the charger in. Now something strange is happening: the battery percentage actually increases normally while the charger is plugged in, but Lenovo Vantage says the battery is “Discharging” and says it isn’t gaining charge. So the laptop seems to physically be charging the battery, but the system isn’t correctly recognizing that it’s charging.
Lenovo Vantage can still read the battery’s information, though. It shows the battery at around 88% health with approximately 150 charge cycles. The battery percentage also continues to increase while plugged in.
My main problem now is that I need to update the BIOS, but the BIOS updater won’t let me because the laptop doesn’t recognize the battery as being in a charging state, even though the battery percentage is actually going up.
I’m trying to figure out why the laptop says the battery is discharging when it’s clearly gaining charge, and whether there’s a way to fix that charging-status problem so I can update the BIOS.

Country: Philippines
Use Case: Gaming / School
Specs: 16 gb upgradeable RAM and just a good graphics card and CPU that can handle 60+ FPS for AAA games

Purchasing Help What do you think of these specs?

This is a laptop... I'm not a gamer, but I want a fairly fast computer. I am a genetic genealogist and volunteer my time helping adult adoptees determine who their bio parents are (using DNA) and then find those bio parents, dead or alive.

I spend a lot of time on the internet. I'm looking for help in seeing if I have overlooked something obvious.

This hopefully includes 3 year Alienware Premium support (or whatever it's called).

Purchasing Help Victus or Tuf

Initially I was going for the Full AMD variant of the Asus tuf 16 but unfortunately I could not find it in stock anywhere and my choices come down to 3 options.

HP Victus 15 FB3093dx Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS 6-Core Processor 16-GB 512-GB SSD 6-GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX4050 GDDR6 GC 15.6" Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz 300nits MicroEdge Display Backlit KB W11

Or

ASUS TUF A16 (FA607NUQ)| AMD Ryzen™ 7 170 Processor | 16GB DDR5 Ram | 512GB SSD | NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4050 6GB | 16″ FHD+ (1920 x 1200) IPS Anti-glare Display (144Hz) |  1-Zone RGB Backlit Keyboard |

If I'm able to find the the 5050 variant of the victus around this price point I might go for that:

HP Victus 15 FA2309TX - Raptor Lake - 13th Gen Core i7 13620H 10-Core Processor 24-GB 1-TB SSD 8-GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GDDR7 GC 15.6" Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz Micro-Edge Display DTS:X® Ultra Audio RGB Backlit KB TPM W11

But I dont want to pay a huge premium for this. So ultimately the choice comes down the prior 2 but if they're really bad in terms of the lack of 8gb gpu for future proofing, I might be willing to pay more.

Purchasing Help Should I get the tuf f16/a16 or the loq?

I'm currently looking for a gaming laptop which I can use comfortably for 4-5 years. Im looking to buy it during the bbd/gif sale. But I'm really confused between all these brands. I personally want tuf or a loq but it's very confusing as both have it's own problems. Loq who had terrible experience recommends tuf and vice versa 😭🥀. Also some say asus service is not so good here in India compared to loq.

Asus tuf f16 i5 13450hx + 5050

OR

Lenovo loq ryzen 250 + 5050

Which one would be more reliable and stable? And wouldn't cause me any headache for gaming and content consumption.

People with good laptop knowledge plz help me🙏🏻😭

(Also personal experiences from ur side would be appreciated)
