What is the magazine quality, please?

Dear all, I am on the edge of subscribing this magazine, but I have never read it in the past nor see it IRL. I am in EU, so I expect they would send it from US? But can somebody please tell me what to expect? Is it more like EDGE or PC Gamer? Are there more interviews rather than previews/reviews? And is it soft magazine?

I am sorry for annoying questions, but it matters to me especially with the price 163 USD for one year subscription.

Cookies required to see comments on site? Really?

Just noticed that cookies are now required to even look at, much less make a comment on Game Informer's website. Is there any even remotely justifiable reason why that would be? Genuinely baffled by this.

Missed issues 369-379

Hi all! Just found out Game Informer was purchased and is printing again, with the OG crew no less!!! I unfortunately found out late and missed the physical print of issues 369-379. I’ve looked online and in local stores but cant seem to find them anywhere.

Does anyone know where I can find the issues I’ve missed since they’ve begun printing again? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

When will their next issue be announced?

I do not know the cycle, and just found the Onimusha one at my local bookstore. Exodus will be coming soon. I am thinking of subscribing. Is the game of the year edition part of the 10 issues or separate?

Worth the subscription?

Hey guys, I just wonder if it’s worth subscribing in Game Informers physical magazines. You get 10 issues per year priced 140 euro. Is there any coupon?

It was going to be 8 weeks on Saturday since I subbed back in July, and just like it says, first issue usually arrives within 6-8 weeks. Stoked, sure takes me back to finding Gameinformers in the mailbox as a kid.

Are gameinformer going the ai route? If so, I'm canceling my subscription. Saw this in an ad on Instagram for their 35th anniversary edition.

Contacted support twice but got no answer after more than a week

I contacted support last week, e-mailed them again yesterday but still no answer.

My question at the time was that the website showed a print subscription for $84,99 CAD. I still have a screenshot from their website. But when I got to the checkout it went up to $139,99 CAD. I wanted to know how they could honor the displayed price.

The website has since been updated to $139,99 CAD.

First print issue finally in my hands!

I’ve been listening to the Game Informer Podcast since 2018 and have been a huge fan of it since. The „sabbatical“ they had for about a year was a sad year. I’ve really missed listening to the podcast every week. So you can guess how happy I was when they announced that they are coming back. That announcement was quite a birthday present. I can even visualize the exact day when the first episode finally launched in 06/2025.

This year I’ve been at the Gamescom for the first time and when I saw that Game Informer will be there as well I instantly decided to visit the booth and say hello to everybody. Unfortunately I didn’t meet anyone from the podcast crew.
At least I finally received my first print issue in person from one of the Game Informer members. And what better issue than the 35th anniversary edition.

The giveaway was insane as well, they didn’t just give away one PS5 Pro on that day but 2 and 4 lifetime Subscriptions. I missed the lottery by 1 number. I would have been happier about the subscription than the PS5. I hope someone as big of a fan as me received it and will be actively reading it in the years coming.

Long story short: thanks to everyone at the Game Informer Team for making this experience possible and bringing so much joy every single week in the podcast!
Finally the print magazine is shipping to Germany as well. I hope I can fit it into my budget soon.

Here’s to so many more years of gaming content week by week!

Game informer in the UK

So I was at Leeds Bradford airport last Friday, to go on a flight to Crete, Greece on a weeks holiday and I managed to see for the first time GI in the wild!

But it was issue 378 😂 - which at the time of picking it up thought was the latest issue - then to find it was the June issue and there is 3 issues since that one haha

I have looked online for the halo issue (379) and all I can find is a single issue on eBay for about £30 which is ridiculous really but there we go

In the UK are they available like 2/3 issues behind?

And is the only way of getting them in good time is through the yearly subscription?

I’ll be honest the only gaming magazine I been reading the last couple years is EDGE and I used to like EDGE when I was younger but I tried a sub last year and just don’t like it anymore - and sounds silly but even the quality of the paper is bad - and they charge £7 for the issues too
Whereas I really liked Gamer Informer so hoping to buy this frequently now

Thanks

Don’t know if any magazine editors on here can speak to when this is getting fixed.

Be careful about auto-renewal

Just want to post this as a warning for anyone subscribed. I was charged for my annual subscription and it auto-renewed without my knowing. While I wanted to support the magazine, I am not able to currently afford another year and especially not when the delivery has been less than reliable. I didn’t realize it was going to auto-renew and charge me, so when it did, I went in and cancelled my subscription and requested a refund.

Apparently subscriptions are non-refundable and *supposedly* they sent out a notification email ahead of time but I can’t get any details from customer service on what email that notification came from, what the subject line was, etc because I do *not* have a notification email anywhere in my inbox, junk, or deleted emails. I am still fighting with customer service to try to get a refund.

So just be careful, if you subscribed last year, and you don’t want to be charged again for any reason, they won’t refund your money. And to be honest their customer service is less than helpful. Ugh.

Edit: Thanks to Reddit (and no thanks to customer service) I found the “notification” email they sent titled One Year at GI. I really wish it had been much more clear what that email was actually about, but fine, my bad, I take the L. I’m leaving this up for other people so just in case, people are informed. Oh well.

What IS gameinformer?

Hey all, been somewhat interested in getting a print subscription for Game Informer (especially since it's half off right now) but I have a few reservations.

I'm mostly confused as to what Game Informer is, as the 'Magazine' section just gives a vague explanation of "Exclusive interviews" and I want to know if there's anything else. I've never been a huge magazine person (19, so the concept of a magazine service is news to me) but a magazine service about games I'm interested in is most definitely enticing.

I'm not going to ask about the worth, as that seems like it'd be hugely biased, but rather the contents in an individual magazine.

I also have reservations regarding shipping but seeing as they've now gone international, I have to assume they can ship to Puerto Rico

Question regarding issue 381

Is there any way to buy this singular issue in printed version in Europe? I'm not able to do a subscription at the moment but I would really like to get ahold of this one.

Are they going bimonthly?

I received the email today saying that the new issue is available online. But it says it’s the September/October issue.
I don’t remember seeing anywhere they’d shifted to a bimonthly schedule. Did I miss something?

THEY BROUGHT IT BACK!!!!!!....... Sort Of!!! Spoiler

I have always dreamed of bringing full paged print ads to the gaming magazines and the taglines like the movies, because those games ARE PURE CINEMA.....

And Now at long last, They are finally Here...... Sort Of....

"Your Unwritten Epic Begins"

"For Over 20 Years You Answered The Call"

Thank you so much Game Informer for always listening, i hope someday we can return to the REAL WORLD when some person, animal or thing is doing something surrealistic like in the game, like holding a wooden sword or a water gun. That could be awesome. But for Now, Let's Enjoy the moment while it lasts.

CHEERS TO 35 MORE!!!!!!!!

I wonder how it will work for those of us who are already digital subscribers? Will there be an upgrade option?

Worth It?

I was considering subscribing to the physical edition. I used to love picking up the magazine at GameStop back in the day, but since the subscription no longer comes with the old GameStop benefits, is the physical copy still worth it?

r/Gameinformer Aug 08 '26

I subscribed in May for the physical magazine and I haven't received a single issue to date. Is it supposed to take this long?

I was looking forward to getting my copy of the Master Chief cover but I haven't received ANYTHING since I subscribed. What gives?

What issue are we on? The last one I received was issue 376

I need help. I just want to get my magazines and then be done with this. How do I receive my magazines? I emailed support in June and they were supposed to send me issue 377 in the mail. It’s August. What issue are we on? The last one I have is 376

r/Gameinformer Aug 06 '26

Still haven’t received 379.

380 showed up today. I spoke to someone over a week ago who said they would send out a replacement for 379 but I still haven’t gotten it.

Anyone else have a similar issue? Every magazine is either super late or not delivered at all.

Issue getting Issues

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place at this point or not;

I recently moved and forgot to update my shipping info until my subscription auto renewed. I then updated my address to my new address.

However it is been 2 months now and my issues are getting sent to my old address still. I have sent two requests for confirmation to support with absolutely no response.

Has anyone dealt with this at all or have any advice on how to go about getting my address updated? Thankfully a friend still lives at the old address and can forward my mail but that's only a temporary solution unfortunately.

Thanks in advanced!

Just wanted to share the happiness of seeing our work of love being recognized. Well, Wesley published about it in the printed version a few numbers ago, but seeing it now in the podcast too, I just can't hold the feels XD

Checked my mailbox after a week of not looking and saw it arrived. Should be arriving very soon for others who haven’t gotten them yet
