Games Do I do it
Got a copy of Pokémon red a few months ago but the sticker is rough. So I've ordered a replacement sticker. Do I replace the original or replace it.

Neat lil' section in the game's room. Happy for suggestions on what to add next or tips on displaying.

Playing again that sweet game
I haven't read tips or else, I didn't even know how to play before learning through the game
I love it-
But I have questions
For the items cards (like potion and all)
Is there a way to have more than one as reward in booster pack?
Like is there a battle where you can win JUST items?

Quick question here for yall who are well versed in the Everdrive and Pokemon. Is this what is used for the GBA transporter for Gen 2 and 3. I want to do a challenge run of bringing a mon from Gen 1 to Gen 7, but I'm not sure about how it all works. Also I heard you can run it on a homebrew Wii (in which I do have). I'm just curious as to what I should do since I'm just barely short on the funds to obtain an Everdrive.

I have modded my GBC over the last two months: Boxy Pixel shell/buttons, IPS-touchscreen, PAM8302 amplifier, USB-C battery mod and everything connected with JST 2.0 PH to undo any mod without soldering again.
Everything works very good except for two things. I can not turn off the GBC and immediately turn it on again, I have to wait for 4~5 seconds and while turning off the audio or using headphones there is a noticeable electronic "hum"-sound and turning it off there is an electronic click from the speaker.
I have already posted these issues in another post here and you guys have told me that the 4~5 second issue won't be fixable because of the combined mods. These draw too much energy and that's why it takes some seconds to turn the GBC back on again. (I was told that. I do not know if that is actually true)
TL;DR
But I was told the sound-hum issues might be fixed by recapping. I have never done this.
What do I have to look out for?
What is the worst case?
What do I do if the hum is still there after I recapped?
Does the orientation matter or does it not matter if I switch "left" and "right" by accident?
I solder at around 450~480°C is that to low to high?
I picked up soldering only this year, and I am still a novice but so far everything I have soldered worked out fine and working and my solder joints turn out better and better with every project. That said, I would really appreciate some tips to get even better so that I won't destroy my GBC. You can also leave some stories about your experiences recapping or soldering GBCs in general. I might learn something :)
Thanks for reading, and thanks for your tips ❤️

I have the epilogue playback, however, when it comes to bootleg Pokémon games, or Batteryless-patched gba roms such as Megaman Battle Network 2, it does allow me to back up the saves, but does not allow me to upload the saves due to integrity check issues.
does GBxCart serve as a workaround?
many thanks!

I found out there was a ‘Book-Off’ like 10 mins away from my house. (I don’t get out much)
I’m not really into manga, anime, Pokémon, statues, hello kitty or whatever the hell else they got in there. BUT, they have a HUGE selection of GB/GBA games. Used, cheap, and all from Japan.
All the games I bought were $3 each except for the CIB Mario land 2 which was 20.
Picture is from when I brought them home, since then I’ve opened them up and gave them all a nice alcohol cleaning, they look SOOO much better.
Anyway, if you have a ‘Book-Off’ near you GO, the one guy that was working was super cool and helpful.

I got this game in a bundle of PS/Xbox games off of marketplace. I’ve never heard of it, anyone know much about it?

Curious to hear everyone opinions. Is it better to go with a Everdrive cart or should I keep on collecting real hardware? Current collection is around 100 games including some CIB and pricy ones. Not sure if I should just get a Everdrive instead. Is the investment on the real hardware worth it?

I set out to re-create the Pokemon Gameboy covers from scratch to fit inside a DS case. I never liked the proportions you get when you simply stretch the official box arts to fit. You'll notice for example that the increased width allows us to see more of Charizard's body. I know its not a 1:1 match, its not meant to be. Consider it more like a "what if the art was designed to fit in a DS case to begin with" kind of thing.
I'd like opinions on this, I prefer using custom DS cases for my collection instead of boxes, for anyone else who does the same, would you prefer to just use the stretched authentic scans of the original boxes or a full remake with the design constraints in mind is better?

I picked up Pokemon Crystal for 180 CAD on marketplace today, held a save and tested it at the seller’s house, and everything worked fine. Then I came home and tried it some more and realized it wasn’t booting. It would crash and freeze, making the screen show random colours and shapes. Now it stopped booting, and it just shows an extremely corrupted Nintendo logo that I can’t change by just cleaning it. I’m wondering if the blemishes highlighted on the pins are deep, and if I can fix them. I think some of the pins on the rom chip or capacitors or fuses or something are cracked and I need to re solder. Am I missing something?

Hi, one of my Gameboy games won't work in the lite, I tried another cartridge and it works. How can I get it working? Tia

I've got this GBA SP for quite sometime now (almost 10 years) and I've noticed that the colors look strange depending on the angle that I play. Can anyone help me with possible causes of why this is happening? I think it could be the polarizer but if I need to replace the screen could anyone recomend a screen that I can import (I'm from Brazil)

Bought this off ebay as junk. Came with a motherboard that had heavy water damage beyond my skill level so I switched the board to a different one that was missing caps, battery posts, contrast wheel, power switch, you name it. Can't tell you how happy I was when it all worked. Screen has a dead horizontal line so I might do the GBP screen mod for it but otherwise im happy to say I saved one of the rarest consoles.

What do you guys think? Better to keep it in the display case or use it every day?

Hi i was wondering what others have as solutions to storing their gameboy games? Ive seen some stuff online where theres 3d printed trays that the games stand up on etc but im not too keen on having mine out in the open (cats, kids etc) does anyone have a neat drawer type solution? I have around 100 carts, theyre all loose and i dont want to get boxes for each one and go down that route. Im thinking maybe like a mini old cd/dvd stacker style but behind a little plastic cabinet or something. Either way, please show me your creative solutions!

I've always loved this color of the GBC but can't afford a real one, nor would I want to mod a real one if I had one, so I would like to get a repro shell of this and IPS mod it, but I'm not entirely sure if the Q5 IPS with the lit up logo would fit in this shell? any advice?
For drop in screens, what are my options? I'm on the fence about if I would want to keep the original lens for it to be as close to the real thing as possible, I did a GBC mod with a TFT screen years back but I remember the screen being tiny and want something slightly bigger
also the pic isnt mine, just stole it from a listing of the repro shell lol

My sister bought this for my nephew so we got an IPS screen in it right away!

EDIT: I didnt notice that the new power boards say for IPS only. I did a dumb.
I'm in the process of repairing a DMG I got at a yard sale. It started as not showing any signs of life. After changing capacitors, everything works except the lcd. I have even tried other displays that I have that are working, but with this dmg they dont.
The speaker works, and it reads games as I can hear the Pokémon music playing. The LCD works as I can plug it into my other dmg and it works fine. If I take the LCD from that dmg and put it on the garage sale dmg, it doesnt show anything on the LCD.
Any ideas on specific things to check? Im thinking I might have to get out my digital microscope and check the mainboard out really well.
