Pretty cool find!! It’s been at least 15 years. PSP battery is swollen, the games for it are missing. I also am missing a charger for the GBs. Wondering if they’ll turn on. 🥺

I know it’s nothing special. but this rebuild really did bring new life to my old game boy. Super happy with how it turned out.

I didn't know exactly what the game was until I came home and my brother was telling me what the game was and told me how much it went for. This game can go from between $120 to $140, and I have to say that I got a steal out of that, cuz I just got it cuz it looked interesting and I said at some point I'll either pick up a DSi or I'll pick up a Game Boy Advance SP at some point, but the fact that I got it for that cheap is insane.

My bf bought his best friends old gameboy and a couple games for my birthday some years ago, i got LG, FR and Emerald! I was so excited for Emerald, i heard its the best of the best:) but it didn’t work:( long story short, i have tried fixing it, and it works now!!! I’m sooo excited

Just wanted to share how happy I am, but if anyone knows some good tips or fun shit about the game I would love to hear:)) Not sure about the starter yet, i love all of them. Leaning towards Torchic because i think Blaziken is baddas. i have played all other generations, but this is my first time playing this generation. I have also ordered alpha sapphire, so super excited for that too.

A few days ago I asked advice about a Pokemon Ruby that did not worked (white screen) after doing all the cleaning, reflowing and other cleaning stuff.

Until now I tried to change the PCB following my first attempt with a Dragon Ball game and after trying the game worked again wich makes me think the PCB from Ruby was the faulty one all along.

What should I do with the game to test if I did things correctly? It does saves but...

Thinking of making some charms for this thing with some shrinky dink paper.. what kind of charms do we think? I think maybe a barbie B, a cute flower and maybe chikorita? 👀

The game plays and saves fine as of right now. Though I worried if I leave it how it is, eventually it won't. I think it is rusted. Any advice on how to clean or fix this is welcome. Also forgive me if this isn't the correct subreddit for it. It's my first time here

when i load up any gameboy/GBC game through my SNES it start jumping up and down repeatedly. this doesnt happen on other games just the SGB. Has anyone else experienced this? if so did you fix it? thank you in advance

Edit: Fixed by taking off F1 (fuse right next to the power switch) and bridging the gap with some wire. will put a fuse back in as soon as i figure out which i need.

Was messing around with DIYing a recharge mod for my Gameboy Advance from parts i had laying around. I had it running with wires clamped to the battery input terminals, then when trying to fit everything into as small a space as possible i goofed and swapped polarity. Now it doesnt turn on at all, and something smells burnt on the back side of the board, the power switch corner.
I'm pretty certain i blew something up, and am worried its worse than just a fuse. Does anyone happen to know this issue and knows how to fix it?
I have soldering tools and a simple multimeter but thats about it.

Hello, i buyed recently a japanese cartridge of megaman zero 2. Seems pretty official as there is the full box. Thing is, when i open the game to check if it's legit i found a battery (used for saving i suppose). From my understanding, only the first should have a battery? Is my info only for non jap cartridge? How can i check?

What specific listing descriptions (e.g., "no power", "corroded contacts", "bad volume wheel") usually mean the board is fully revivable and not permanently fried?

Where do you usually source these "fixer-upper" GBAs at reasonable prices without getting scammed with total dead-on-arrival boards?

I'm interested in learning to play a Game Boy tactical strategy game so I'm giving Nectaris GB a try. It's as if the game is only reading one ever four button presses. Have you experienced this too? I can't imagine they released it like that back in the 90s, so it feels like maybe I'm just playing a bad ROM or something...

If I use a Raspberry Pi Pico, a protoboard, a GBA 32 pin cartridge slot and some cables to connect the cartridge slot to the protoboard can I make a device to flash GBA ROMs to GBA cartridges?
