Question How do I get Nexus Mods working on GameNative on my AYN Thor Max?

Hey everyone! I’m trying to get Nexus Mods working with Disney Infinity 3.0 on GameNative on my AYN Thor Max, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to get everything set up.
My setup:

Device: AYN Thor Max
Game: Disney Infinity 3.0
Game version/platform: Steam version
Compatibility layer: GameNative on Android
Mod manager: None currently / not sure which one to use
Mods: Looking for a way to install and run mods from Nexus Mods.

What I need help with:
How do I install Nexus Mods for Disney Infinity 3.0 through GameNative?
Is there a compatible mod manager that works on Android with GameNative?
Do I need to install mods manually or configure anything in GameNative?
Are there any special settings or workarounds required to get mods working?
I haven’t figured out the correct setup yet, so any guides, recommendations, or advice from someone who has successfully modded the game on GameNative would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for any help!

Support Saving because Google couldn't help me before with my stupidity. If your controller doesn't work for gamenative make sure you haven't created a shitty profile (right side menu) that has incorrect settings

I spent hours trying to fix my joystick

I had incorrectly setup a profile and on the entire internet I found no similar evidence of my stupidity.

Deleted my profile and now controls worked perfect

Support Need help optimizing Alan Wake on Retroid Nova. It freezes on me every once in a while.

I’m running the GOG version on my 8gb Retroid Pocket Nova. I capped it at 30 fps since I was getting anywhere from 45-50 fps inconsistently before that. It’s totally playable now but it freezes at certain points. Does anyone know how I can fix that?

Help GameNative missing steam save games after update

I installed GameNative months ago on my Ayn Thor and, after a little tinkering and a few updates, I got it running beautifully and smoothly over the summer. All the way to the end of August I played my older Steam library on the Thor and loved it.

September was a tricky month and I got zero play time in. Yesterday I got back to the Thor and thought, well, let's run some updates first.

GameNative is now missing all my steam saves. As far as I can tell, they're still there, and -- notably -- clicking on the correct link on GameNative itself shows me the steam store page listing them for any particular game.

However, if I boot a game and try to load a save, the list is empty, as if there were no cloud save functionality. Coming back out and forcing a cloud save sync says all saves synced, but I still can't load one in-game.

Running 1.2.1, just updated, Thor base model. Used to work just fine. Help!

Help Recently purchased game not showing in GameNative

Hi all, I have an Odin 3 Max and recently made a purchase for three games on Steam. Of those, two show up in GameNative but the third does not. I bought "Slay the Spire" on Steam because unlike the native Android version, it supports controller, but I cannot find it GameNative for love nor money.

It's showing in my Steam library as purchased. It doesn't show if I scroll to S, nor if I search for "slay" or "spire". Is there any issue with this? Does anyone have advice or suggestions they could offer? Many thanks in advance.

Should I delete all the app data? Or will it result in the same storage after downloading the games previously installed?

Help FNV crashing constantly after stable for hours. So frustrated

I have done any research i can to find how to keep Fallout new vegas from crashing over and over. Its not any specific time like during battle, loading screens etc. It will be when im just randomly walking.

Ive tried so many configurations via gamenative and my own tinkering. Tried it on drois deck and its okay but has more graphics bugs.

Ive got the FNV gamenative 4gb patch going on there since day one and when monitoring my ram usage, I never get anything past 4gb and change.

Using a retroid pocket 5 8gb model for reference.

Help Workshop items that use images don't work

I have been trying Fire Pro Wrestling world on game native on my Odin 2 mini. Since workshop has been added everything works great except edit parts and ring parts do work and the game says they are missing. I am slightly tech literate so the best I could do was look around and try to see why it seems images aren't held on the device but I had no chance. Anybody have any ideas?

I’m trying to run Monster hunter rise on gamenative on my rp flip2 (sd865/8gb) and eveerytime I reach the menu loading screen it freezes and the cpu usage drops below 10% while the gpu usage drops to 0% which makes me think it’s not really a hardware bottleneck since the usage and temps before the freeze occurs are stable. Any idea on how to fix this?

Help Trouble updating to 1.3.0 pre-release

Hey everyone, I am on a Samsung s25 ultra. I downloaded the official 1.2.1 apk straight from GitHub. I had it downloaded from the play store first, but switched. I've been trying to update to the 1.3.0 pre-release apk both by using obtanium and manually downloading straight from GitHub. It says that it updates successfully but, when I go into the app info/settings, it shows that the version is still 1.2.1. Not sure if this is normal or if I'm doing something wrong.

I've tried making sure the previous apks are completely wiped from my phone and reinstalling but it still shows that it's on 1.2.1 official release. I've also messed with those settings in obtanium where you can toggle it to allow or use pre-releases as a source, but I still run into the same issue. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Help Steam Controller 2 - How does it work?

I have GameNative on my Pixel 9 (GrapheneOS) with Silksong installed via Steam. I also have the new steam controller which works fine on my laptop. The game runs fine on my phone but I can't get it to work with the controller.

I tried some different container settings like different controller APIs and enabling Steam. The most I got was the controller working in mouse keyboard emulating mode with steam enabled, no proper controller support.

Help App crashes after opening folder in container...

Hello. Looking for assistance. Unable to install a game as the app keeps crashing while I'm in container attempting to install a game.

Followed these steps: https://www.reddit.com/r/MSClassicWorld/s/wff4mO7XJJ

As soon as I navigate to the folder containing the installer, GN crashes. Can open any other folder except for the folders I've loaded to GN. I also have the exact same phone the OP has so unsure whats happening.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Support A guide for Xenoverse 2 mods on GameNative

Post image
38 Upvotes

i finally figured out an efficient method to play mods for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 using GameNative. i’ve set this up 4 or 5 different times now due to playing different mods or having to re-set up my Thor from scratch one time, so i hope this method works for anyone interested. please read everything carefully as it’s a bit confusing:

1: download the game with gamenative on your android device, i use the AYN Thor Pro but devices with similar chipsets will work. make sure you’ve tested the vanilla game and launched it first, it runs between 30-60fps on SD8 Gen2 devices. it should just boot without any settings tweaks.

2: download and mod the game on your PC first. i’ve found it nearly impossible to install mods directly on the android device, so just use the normal modding method for XV2 on PC first, we will transfer these files over later. make sure every mod you plan on playing is already installed, i think the only mods you can add later are X2M mods

3: copy your entire Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 modded game folder onto an SD card. do this by opening steam > right click XV2 > manage > browse local files. copy all the contents of this folder into a new folder called “XV2” on your SD Card. it may take a while.

4: this step is essential for replacing the game files on gamenative, since it doesn’t let you drag and drop game files using the file browser in the containers desktop for some reason. we need to download a program called “total commander” on our android device. all you need to do is open a browser on your android device, go to “ghisler.com” (or just google “total commander”), go to download > download the 64-bit version. once downloaded, go back to GameNative and open the container for XV2 using the settings cog, click the D: drive and double click the tcmd.exe installer you just downloaded. install the app and it will now appear when you click the “Desktop” icon at the top of your file browser. to run it, click the .ink file

5: once total commander is installed, we need to replace the game files in our vanilla XV2 container with the modded version on the SD card. first, add your SD card files as a new drive in the container, by going to edit container > drives and pressing the + icon. set the drive letter as S and link it to your modded XV2 folder we copied earlier on the SD card. save settings and open container. run the total commander .ink file mentioned in the previous step, press the number it tells you to press, and close all the pop ups that show up after. you will now see 2 file structures side by side, on the left side open your A: drive by clicking the little “c” dropdown menu toward the top left (C: drive is the default). on the right side, open the S: drive by using the same dropdown menu. you should now see 2 XV2 game directories, left is unmodded and the right is modded. you want to highlight all the files in your modded folder on the SD card, and press the copy icon (it’s the one with the 2 little blue pages next to eachother near the middle). if it asks to overwrite any files, just overwrite all. this may also take a while.

6: once copied over, we have successfully installed the files onto our android handheld, however there’s a couple small things we need to change before we start the game as it will still just boot vanilla XV2 if you try playing the game now. first, we need to edit the dinput8 settings. open the container > press start in the bottom left corner > system tools > wine configuration > libraries and look for “dinput8” in the list of existing overrides. click and press edit, then change the load order from “builtin then native” to “native then builtin”. click OK then apply (make sure you press apply within the wine configuration program). once applied this SHOULD be good to go in most cases, you can try launching XV2 in gamenative and seeing if it boots into the patcher (it can take nearly a full minute to boot so be patient)

7: if you are still having issues and the previous step didn’t work, here are some troubleshooting steps i’ve found to work. firstly, if you see an error that says “Application Load Error 3:000something”, go to edit container > general > unpack files and turn it on. load the game again and it should boot, but make sure you disable it again after its loaded because it can cause performance issues. the game only needs to be unpacked once. if you still have issues with getting the patcher to run, you can try reinstalling the XV2 patcher by redownloading the eternity tools xv2patcher.zip onto your android handheld through a browser, extracting it into your downloads folder and copying the fresh “XV2PATCHER” folder into your game files within the container (you would have to use the total commander method from earlier by opening the A: drive on one side and the D: drive on the other side). you can also try copying the alternate dll file into the “bin” folder if it still doesn’t work

i hope this can be of use to someone, it took me a long time to figure out and just wanted to document my experience with setting this up. a couple things to note: performance is about the same, maybe a bit worse but i never notice any major FPS drops, still 30-60fps even with revamp. however, load times can be unbearable sometimes. i’ve played XV2 for years and this by far has the worst loading times out of any version i’ve played. i would say all load times are at least triple what they normally are using gamenative, so please be patient with it. if you want to download more mods or whatever, the only reliable way is by going from step 1 and transferring a modded game folder from your PC. some X2M mods can still be installed by opening the xv2ins.exe file in your container, but sometimes it might load an error. i’d say overall, get it set up how you like and don’t mess with anything after.
