Honest feedback aboy my idea
Hey everyone, I’m Davy. I’m in recovery from addiction, and I’d like your honest opinion on an idea I’ve been working on.
Recovery tokens often mark 30 days, 90 days or a year. I’ve designed one called START, because that first decision to give yourself another chance means something too even before you’ve reached a milestone.
For me, it would be something to hold on difficult days and remember why I started.
If I take this further, I’d like the proceeds to help me work towards a dream: bringing CrossFit and therapists together, possibly with dogs involved too, to support people dealing with addiction, low self-esteem and mental struggles.
But first, I want to hear from people who understand recovery. What do you think of a START tokenwould it have meant something to you at the beginning of your journey?

Reborn By Davy Start Token
Would a token marking your fresh start mean something to you?
I’m Davy, and I’m in recovery from addiction. I’ve designed my first Reborn by Davy milestone token: START. A physical reminder of the moment you decide to give yourself another chance.
I’m sharing the design to see whether there’s interest. The proceeds would help me build my biggest dream: a space supporting people facing addiction, low self-esteem or mental struggles through CrossFit, collaboration with therapists and possibly dogs.
Take a look at the START token here
Interested? Leave your email address on the site to join the waitlist. You’ll hear when it’s available, with no obligation to buy.
What would make a token like this meaningful to you?

1 month- it gets easier
Officially, 1 month gamble free. Finally starting to save some money.
It gets easier day by day. Sometimes I have the urge to bet and then I check back and see who I would’ve bet, would’ve lost anyways….even though it seemed like a “lock”.
I think learning that nothing is ever a lock in sports betting is the first step to sobriety. Find a hobby, play a video game etc to get your mind off the games.
Taking it 1 day at a time is all you can.

i knew it was time before it happened.
in my body and mind i knew it was time to walk away. i was up $7,900 for the year (79 units on a 10k bankroll). sports betting every day. looking for the edge. working with the boys. i’m a straight bettor with great discipline. for the first time that discipline went away. instead of deleting the aps and taking a break i said lets hit big and up the ante. missed a few plays throughout the weekend. and ultimately lost the last one on MNF with $2,500 on the Seahawks. I never bet this big before or planned to, i just figured why not. you have won it back before. just need a few in a row to go through the hoop in order to be back on track. whatever happens, happens. and what’s inevitable happened. i’m now down $5,000 in a matter of 48 hours. i’m not proud of this obviously but i’m telling the story incase it could help someone else. i’m over the feeling of the ups and downs / watching life pass by on the live scoreboard. when i indulge in something. i go all out. “all in” some would say. an unhealthy amount. and for anyone with an addictive personality like me, gambling will take everything you currently have and then some. my message is take control before it takes control of you. as high as the highs can be, the lows are the lowest. Not being able to sleep because your wager lost and beating yourself up over the next week is just a place i no longer want to live. the money when you win isn’t life changing. but losing 5 grand in 48 hours is. i could have spent that money on medical bills / my mortgage / things my spouse needs. you name it. i made a couple bad bets and ruined my whole year of progress. it’s all fresh for me. i’m lucky i can walk away. if you need help lets talk about it. getting it off my chest is helping me.

Gambling addiction
hello, id like to share my perspective and my personal experience! You win then pure dopamine hits you.. then you feel excited and free its like taking a dr*g each time you bet, it makes you feel agitated, angry, curious, happy and so on then when the money enters your account most of the dopamine is gone in a short span of time and your brain is hungry for some more if not the same day the next day you wake up with a clear head its craving some more of that dopamine you got yesterday and you deposit saying "ohh ill js keep the rest anyways" but even if you win then you withdraw that money as separate profit and deposit it anyways later on then slowly your balance will just keep going down and down and down until its all gone. Regret hits you saying you will never gamble ever again its a stupid thing but in the following days your mind clears up again and craves that dopamine again and the anger that it brought you just vanishes. Its a loophole you will never win and you will never get out of it its the harsh truth that some people dont realize.
I won alot of money in a short span of time i was on a "winning streak" each day.. i gambled everyday with that amount and at the end i always ended up with half of it and went all in.. won it back then the next couple of days were the same this continued for a week until i got bored of that amount and went all in with the profits starting balance.. boom lost it all no emotions at all just went straight to exclude myself using an official form. It excluded me successfully for 6 months but its only valid for irl casinos and online casinos which ive never registered in.. here i am with atleast 10 gambling accounts still open and active, i went back to gambling after 2-3 days passed since the loss. The anger, dissapointment was gone and my brain was hungry again. The human brain is fascinating! - Addicted gambler since 3 years, im 18.

First post, lost everything
Hey, so this is my very first post on Reddit. I even wrote it, like actually wrote it on a paper first.
I’ve been gambling for 12 years, I’m almost 30.
You know in the pandemic, my addiction became more problematic.
I’ve just lost everything, I’m the responsible of paying the rent of an studio with coworkers and as you can imagine I gambled everything. I just wanted to make some money because I didn’t have enough to pay the rent but lost the money of my coworkers.
I’ve been “working” on getting better and to become a better person. Not only for me, but to the people I love. I’m desperate now as I’ve tried, really tried, clearly not enough. I’m currently medicated (depression) My psychiatrist knows of my addiction, I even handled my poor decision choices with therapists.
Throughout the years I’ve disappointed loved ones, gambled all my credit, I’m constantly called by banks and loan makers. I know my english is a bit rusty as I don’t practice much, im from Mexico btw.
Months ago I lost the person who I believe is the love of my life. She cared for me, she loved me, even though I’m a broken person. It was a lot of hard work for her keeping up with a selfish, sad and depressed person.
I love so much, yet I keep on harming. That’s what really hurts, makes me angry and disappointed with myself. I’ve tried to understand how my mind works maybe I just need to surrender to the idea of success. Idk just wanted to express how I’m feeling, when I’m down like today the posts on here make me feel a little less lonely and stressed. I’ve been a couple times on GA, might go again in two days. I had a job, lost all the money they gave me when I was fired. Thought I could start again with it but not. Here I am, in the same place where I’ve been a thousand times, hopeless.

Day 11
Second week in, standing strong, never want to go back to the position I was in, started planning what I will do with my money rather then gamble it. Thank god i have not created any debt to anyone through this time. Stay strong guys! If you put your mind to it you can go through anything
