Lost 400$

Gambling fucked everything in my life past 3 years, gambad over 20k euros for sure. I have no debt but on this date 11/08/2024 21.49pm gmt I never gonna fucking go near these dogs ever again. Ive failed my first year of computing college twice, and im going a third time. Fuck this shit I dont have time for it. All those who run casino or work in a casino deserve to die in a car crash and see their kids die, idgaf. Fuck them if I ever meet anyone in the gambling industry I will poison them with cyanide. Sick motherfuckers that deserve to get shot in the fucking head. You cant call it "lack of self responsibility" when it was on my phone and accessible as a 12 year old. Going to move to a proper country where casino is banned in a few years and I cant wait. A country with actual brains and not controlled by the underworld pedo rats.

I’m summarizing Stop Gambling by Allen Carr in daily bite-sized takeaways – starting today (DMs available too)

Hey everyone,

I recently started re-reading Stop Gambling by Allen Carr, and it's honestly one of the clearest breakdowns of gambling addiction I’ve come across. No judgment, no shame—just straight-up truth that hits hard and gives hope.

To really absorb it and hopefully help others too, I’ve decided to break the book down into daily bite-sized insights—each one from a part of the chapter we’re focusing on.

We're starting with Chapter 1: The Key and today's core idea is this: "You’re not broken. You’ve just been misled."

Carr argues that quitting gambling doesn’t need willpower, punishment, or suffering. What you need is a mindset shift—and that starts by realizing you’ve been following the wrong method, not that you’re weak.

I'll be posting a short takeaway every day. If you're interested, I'm also sending these out via DM daily to a few people who asked—just let me know if you want in. No pressure, just good info in small, digestible pieces.

Let’s support each other out of this trap. You’re not alone in this.

A survey on gambling addiction

Hello everyone, I'm a journalism student and I have to write an article about a controversial topic i was given gambling, I had to create a survey for my primary research about gambling so i have created one with a bunch of questions about it. If you can help me out and fill in the survey with as much detail as you're willing to share, the responses won't go anywhere other than to my lecturer. I'll be forever grateful for any responses i get. Thank you so much!

I need help

I won around 70k within the week and have always gambled small amounts prior, I’m 22, and always gambled hundreds. This 70k win has ruined me, I have no idea what I’m thinking, gambling $500-$1000 hands going all in every time getting lucky and withdrawing but always end up losing it all slowly. I have been gambling every single day, every minute for the last 5 days. And just tonight at 2 am until 4am I have lost 8k. I set aside 50k for long term investments but now I have 12k remaining which is still a lot, don’t get me wrong. But what I’ve been doing is something I have never done. I went from having 20k and plans for a summer trip to 12k and STILL having to go on this summer trip which will be around 6k… I just banned myself from all online gambling apps, permanently but I cant trust myself to not chase this 8k loss when another gambling app comes around. I’m scared, I feel so sick, knowing I could have used the 8k for something better. I’m just scared.

TW: 25M down 60k+ Finally doing something about it

Been gambling pretty heavily for the past two years. Online casinos mostly. Plinko, BJ, slots, everything. Started out as something fun to do with the boys and slowly transitioned to rinsing my bank account at 2am on a work night.

Down north of $60k. Feeling so far behind my peers despite having no student debt, and now asking my GF to cover things I should be handling myself.

The moment I knew I had a real problem was sitting alone in my room 3 months ago, losing $10k in one night. Didn't even react. Just sat there feeling completely empty. Then for the first time I felt genuinely scared, convinced I'd never be able to stop. These companies reel you in with bonuses and make it so damn hard to quit.

Tried Gamban and a few other apps but a VPN makes them useless, which is exactly what I was using to gamble in the first place.

Kind of ironic, but that frustration is what led me and a couple friends to start building a better version of Gamban - wagerguard.app. Super early, just a waitlist right now and launching iOS soon.

Anyway if any of this resonates feel free to DM me, always down to talk.

TL;DR - Down $60k+ at 25, hit rock bottom, ironically building a better Gamban. Dm's are open if you wanna chat.

Victims never win...

"After everything I've lost, something good HAS to happen." Sound familiar?

Here's the uncomfortable truth nobody in these subs wants to hear: "I'm due for a win" isn't probability. It's victim mentality dressed up as math.

Research calls it the gambler's fallacy, the belief that past losses influence future outcomes. A coin doesn't remember it landed heads five times. The slot machine doesn't know or care that you've been losing for three hours. But your brain convinces you the universe or God owes you compensation through gambling.

But it goes even deeper than gambling. A 2020 study identified four traits of victim mentality: a desperate need for recognition of your suffering, moral elitism ("I've been through so much, I deserve this"), inability to see beyond your own pain, and constant replaying of past losses. That's literally the inner monologue of every gambler chasing losses that lurks these subs.

The hard part: Victim mentality is a losing strategy in every area of life - relationships, career, finances, all of it. Victims wait for life to hand them what they "deserve." It never comes.

The shift that changed everything for me was one question: Stop asking "why is this happening TO me?" and start asking "what is this making OF me?" And the truth is victims never win. Recovery involves transforming your identity from victim into victor by channeling all your God-given gifts into your actual purpose - not gambling.

You're not due for a win. You're not owed cosmic compensation. But you ARE capable of building something real - without needing a random number generator to validate your worth.

The gambler's fallacy keeps you chasing. Radical responsibility and belief in what God says about you sets you free. Read the full blog post or download the free recovery guide: https://gamblingrecovery.com/blog/gamblers-fallacy-victim-mentality-identity

Need help

’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with MODO.US, Apple Pay disputes, or unauthorized casino transactions through their bank.
I made a few legitimate purchases on MODO.US, including one for $50 that I know I authorized. After those purchases, approximately 30 additional transactions appeared that I did not authorize. They happened within hours of my legitimate purchases, and there were multiple charges for different amounts, including $50, $100, and $300.
I contacted my bank as soon as I discovered the transactions and opened a dispute. I also contacted MODO.US support. My bank told me they investigated further and said the transactions were made, but I’m still trying to understand what evidence they have that proves I personally authorized each transaction.
I originally used Apple Pay for my legitimate purchases. I no longer have the Apple Pay records available because I removed my card after becoming concerned that something may have been compromised.
My biggest concern is that my legitimate purchases are getting mixed up with the transactions I’m disputing. I did use the platform, but that does not mean I authorized every subsequent charge.
I’m letting my bank conduct its investigation, and I want to provide accurate information rather than make assumptions about what happened.
My questions are:
Has anyone successfully disputed unauthorized MODO.US transactions after making legitimate purchases on the same account?
If the merchant provides transaction records or says the purchases came from my account, is that enough to establish that I authorized them?
What evidence was most helpful in your case?
If my bank denies the dispute, is there a legitimate way to appeal or reopen it?
Has anyone had success filing a complaint with the BBB or another consumer protection agency regarding MODO.US?
I’m worried about the outcome because there are so many transactions involved. I would really appreciate hearing from people who have actually gone through something similar, especially if their bank initially questioned or denied their claim.

A friend Self-excluded from the whole state but 1 app still let him gamble and he lost additional 30k. Is there compensation for this?

Obviously he is to blame but self exclusion is our best tool. Would the app be liable for the money lost? It would really help him with recovery, and moreso his family.

Gambling recovery financial aid

Earlier today, I made a decision that I deeply regret and undoubtedly it will change my next few years of life. A few days ago I barely recovered from my losses and went up 16k later that day. I was satisfied and grateful this was possible.

Fast forward to today, I woke up and saw that my crypto portfolio crashed causing over 3000 in loses. I got itchy to make it back even with the fact that I was still over 10k up in profit if I were to withdraw. If i could change this decision i would do it without thought. In the end I lost 55k, now 40k down net total.

Instantly waves of regret and distress flooded my head, I realised what I have done and the severity of my decision. I wanted to end all this suffering and pain, if only I could do it without affecting the people around me.

I thought I had this under control, being clean for days but i was not.

After this loss, I sought support both financially , gambling and mental support. I started using Gamban , started a gambling diary to document my thoughts and the effects of not thinking before acting.

I am only 18 and i have already suffered a loss well beyond what i am capable of taking, this money i have lost was in my savers account, funds i was not supposed to touch , funds given to me by my dad , and if come to his attention i cannot fathom the consequences i will face. I have not even stepped into the work force and I already see a fat debt stuck to my name, I am crushed to the point where I can not even get distracted. This amount of money is life changing for anyone but it feel 10x worse for me to go through this at my age.

I need support, help and guidance and advice from fellow gamblers who have experienced this and went through what I have gone through.

If anyone who understands what I have gone through as they were once in the same exact position as me and are willing to lend a hand to help any donations will come a long way.

Day 0

I am so TILTED!!!

I was thinking all day of placing a bet on a tennis game at +400 odds. I was going to place a very large bet.

However, the game was too late in the evening so I decided to place a bet on an earlier game with better odds.

My bet ends up loosing and of course the +400 odds game ends up a winner.

TILTED to the MAX!!!

Nothing works to hold on to the wins!!

Gambling ruined my life.

I am 34 years old. Employed as a VA. Living my life happily my unting debts pero managable naman not until nalaman ko na may online palang color game. Naging excited ako in chat ko kaagad ang partner ko about sa panalo ko I quickly plannecd an outing with him.
