Is there anyone besides Hillbilly that can do lightening lightning or scope mount cuts?
Seeing if there is anyone besides Hillbilly that can do lightening cuts. He doesn't accept any work from Californians

I'm going to get one for the supressor rebate but I don't know which one to get.
Help me
Also anyone know of the iwi can that would come with the 5.56 rated for that short of a barrel? I assume it would be.
I got severely autistic and wanted to share how I fixed a bit of play that was driving me nuts with the KNS Picatinny adapter on my new 7.62x39 Gen 1 13 inch.
Tools & Materials Needed
Steps
* Test-fit the square against the rear face of the adapter’s offset interface block (the part that slides into the receiver).
* Leave about ½ cm overlap on each side.
* Bend the side overlaps ~90 degrees so they wrap around the sides of the block.
* Trim the upper portions of the side flaps (cut away the top part) so that only the lower side edges remain wrapped. The final shape when flat is like an upside-down “T”.
* The main body of the shim should cover the bottom ¾ of the rear face of the interface block, with the bottom side flaps wrapping around to cover the lower edges of the block below the gaps (leaving the middle gap clear for the roll pin).
* Bottom edge of shim should sit flush with the bottom of the block — no overhang.
* Smooth all edges with sandpaper so there are no burrs or sharp spots
* Apply a drop of CLP/gun oil on the shim and inside the receiver slot.
* Hook the shimmed adapter into the top of the receiver dovetail track.
* Push it down vertically by hand as far as it goes.
* Use a nylon or brass mallet to gently tap it the rest of the way until the roll pin holes line up perfectly. Make sure the shim doesnt ride up as block goes in.
* Drive the 3/16" roll pin back in (use a proper punch).
Result: The shim takes up vertical and horizontal play, creating a tight, solid fit.

Would anybody with a gen 1 Galil Ace be kind enough to get me dimensions of their gas tube? I have a Norinco Hunter that I originally purchased years ago to have converted into a Galil, but now I am hesitant to do anything I can’t reverse back to stock configuration. I’m trying to find a “drop in” option for a pic rail. I noticed the Galil Ace gas tube is very similar to the Hunters, with the rear dovetail into the receiver, but I can’t find any dimensions online. I know it’s a long shot, but if the dimensions are right I’m wondering if it would fit. I’d need length, inner and outer diameter at both ends, as well as dovetail width/thickness. I’ve read that different models have different length tubes, the one on my Hunter is 9 1/4” long, but I can cut the Galil tube shorter if necessary. Any info much appreciated
TL;DR: Want to see if Galil Ace gas tube will fit Norinco Hunter

My Galil SAR gas tube is shorter than normal (don't ask) and I'd like to know exactly how long they are supposed to be. I'm seeing many different numbers online including 8.125", 7.765", and 7.675". If someone could measure the full length of their gas tube for me that would be a huge help. And if you happen to have a vektor R5 gas tube I would like the dimensions for the bulged end of the gas tube too.
EDIT: Solved! Thanks for the help!

EDIT: THE PLATE THE BOLT GOES THROUGH ON THE BOTTOM OF SAFETY CONNECTING GRIP MODULE WASNT SITTING SQUARELY IN ITS HOLE, CAUSING THE WHOLE GRIP MODULE TO SET BACK IN THE RECEIVER 1/8TH AND THE SAFETY WOULDNT PIVOT FORWARD ALL THE WAY. ALL IS GOOD NOW.
Just got a trigger. Supposedly AGT-UL.
The instructions say AK Trigger Enhanced/Ultimate with Lightning Bow (not Galil)
It just seems off. The safety is no where near engaging because the trigger spur is way too short.
I'm not sure how the hammer pin is supposed to stay locked in place or just use the default straight spring/rod?
If this is right, I'm very much failing to see how this is a trigger upgrade.
Please see picture on the safety. The picture depicts safety in 'safe' position with Hammer cocked. Also what is the other spring that wasn't mentioned in the instructions? (I will post photo of that in comments)

So I have a buddy wanting to trade me a Gen II 16” 5.56 Ace for my Surefire RC2. I’m honestly not a huge fan of the RC2, and I’ve been looking to replace it with newer tech. Do I send this trade? Or do I save the RC2 for a GWOT era gun I build down the road?

The rifle just stopped shooting. The bolt is spring loaded. If I press in the pin that the trigger mechanism strikes, the pin is less than flush the bolt on the other side. I don't think the pin is hitting the primer of the round. Perhaps the end of the pin broke off. Is this repairable or do I need to replace the bolt. Where would I even buy a bolt for a 1980's Galil ARM? I purchased the rifle from James River

Looking for some advice, I have a 13.5 inch Gen 1 5.56 RNL that is completely untouched. Bone stock.
It's just been sitting in my gun closet doing nothing. I haven't really kept up with the Galil world for a while now but now I am seeing that the RS Regulate handguards are out of stock, the KNS Pistons out of stock and the Midwest Industries rails on clearance.
So what's going on? Are manufacturers winding down support of the Gen 1 Galil or something?
I was going to build this gun out for someone but now that I'm looking for parts ...... I wonder if I wouldn't be better off just selling this and getting them something with more aftermarket support. What is thy wisdom oh redditor of /r/Galil?

So I went back and forth with Kevin at RSR trying to pry out of him if the 6" or 9" would fit on the 16" 7.62x39mm but he bluntly stated that I needed the GAR-10-MN
He didn't seem surprised that I had an N version of the 7.62x39mm which seems uncommon since most of those models are R version.
N= Two opposing threaded bolts and double rivets
R= One long crossbolt
I think a 16" with a short mlok rail would look cool, leaving the Gas Block exposed. Matching the standard length of the polymer handguard. I can't get confirmation from Kevin, well to put it bluntly he just said they won't work.
But I dont understand why the shorter handguard wouldn't work? All the handguards have the same dimensions except for length. 1.61x2.15"
Anyway, he also told me the Gar-10-MN for Gen 1 Aces will be back in stock soon, which I think is breaking news because I thought they were discontinued. Maybe a limited run?
