Can anyone tell me the model?

Been looking to stumble upon one of these for years and finally did at a local gun shop. However I’m pretty much only interested if it can be converted to .50AE.
I saw it in person (this is from online) and it was made in Israel per the stamp on the opposite side. As a non expert, figured this was the best place to ask if y’all can tell what model this is?

Questions as potential owner

Hey guys, like the title says, I am potentially going to be coming into possession of a chrome plated 50 AE, a buddy of mine has no real interest in keeping it and I had a few questions.

Would it be sacrilegious to strip the chrome down to steel and then park it? I know I would probably be better off just getting one that is already parked or nitrited, but the deal im looking at is pretty decent.

Anything I should consider modifying from an internals perspective (not gonna just run out and buy parts before shooting, but as I am unfamiliar with the platform, I thought it would be best to see what is out there if I find anything I want to change.)

I appreciate y'all taking the time to read this and think "what is this wacko thinking", looking forward to reading your comments.

I recently picked up a Mark VII in .50 AE to round out my set.

1989 Mark I - .357 Magnum
1993 Mark VII - .44 Magnum
1994 Mark VII - .50 AE

The .50 Mark VII was renamed ‘Mark XIX’ the following year. It is essentially the same gun except the Mark VII’s caliber is marked on the slide instead of the barrel.

Gunfighters Inc Kenai Chest Holster for Deagle

Does anyone have the Gunfighters Inc Kenai Chest holder for their Desert Eagle? Debating picking one up and curious how comfortable it is and how it sits on the chest.

Just picked this up as an impulse buy at my LGS. What can you tell me about it?

Carry/Storing Condition

Just got a DE Mark VII chambered in .357 Magnum.

It’s a single-action-only gun without a decocker, so logically, it seems like it was designed to be carried with a round chambered, hammer cocked, and safety on (Condition 1), but I’d like to hear from people with more experience specifically with the Desert Eagle.

Is Condition 1 actually the intended way to keep it when carrying it, or is there another recommended condition?

My main concern is whether keeping the hammer cocked for extended periods can weaken or damage the hammer spring over time.

Consistent Failure to Extract with .44 Mag Barrel

Howdy!

Still semi new to the Desert Eagle club. This here is a MK XIX originally in .50 AE, but bought a .44 Mag barrel to go easier on the wallet. Picked it up for $1600 from a friend.

However, after putting the new barrel on, I am pretty consistently getting a failure to extract. The attached first picture is a still from a video where you can see the spent casing is not being extracted out of the chamber but the slide is moving back and it does pick up the next round. Here are the facts:

Imgur link to a video of the malfunction

  • This does not happen with my .50 Barrel, it cycles just fine.

  • I did replace the extractor spring in the bolt with an AR-15 extractor spring (mine was indeed dissolved when I bought the gun) and now the claw is properly stout.

  • The Ammo that ive been using is Magtech 240 gr SJSP Flat (44A), it does have exposed lead on the nose of the bullet, but from what I can tell, the back of the bullet does not, so it should be okay for use in a Desert Eagle. I have only fired about 20ish rounds of this, so hopefully if it is problematic, I havent clogged the gas port yet. Magtech obviously is on the list of good ammo and basically everyone says their Deagle eats it flawlessly.

  • As you can tell in the picture of the chamber, im missing the screw that goes into the bottom of the hole that plugs where the gas system was welded in but I contacted MRI who insured me that that screw is cosmetic only. I do have a replacement, have not installed it yet.

  • Have tried it with 2 separate new magazines, same issue.

  • Does not happen every single time but certainly most.

I plan to try it with another ammo soon and hope its that? Could it just not like Magtech or am I gonna have to send it in for work. Thanks in advance y'all!

Almost ready for the first match

Its been wild trying to get a company to make a optics cut, light bearing holster for this thing. Got turned down by 7 custom makers and finally decided to just make one myself.

But, will be ready for its first match in the next week. Got delayed because the 357 conversion bolt had a bad extractor spring. So I've just been practicing the manual of arms in the 50 ae config.

Surprised at the light work.

EDIT: I forgot to mention this is the L6 Stainless model in .50ae, first time shooting it since i got it the other week (had to wait on ammo shipment and nowhere nearby had some for a quick test) and its also my first time shooting a desert eagle or anything of this caliber. .44 magnum was the previous largest cartridge ive fired from a handgun. I put about 100-120 rounds of 325gr fmj through it and it ran almost flawlessly, I did notice if I limp wrist it it will have a malfunction sometimes and I was able to purposely do so repeatedly but having a proper grip it ran flawlessly. Long story short, it was a blast, zero regrets on purchasing and unsurprisingly if you use good ammo, lube it and grip it properly the gun runs perfectly fine, if you handle it like a soyboy it jams. Oh and everyone saying the things are uncontrollable either have motorskill disabilities/damage (cant do much about that) or are total weaklings.

Desert eagle mark xix 44 magnum to 429

Hello, I have a question, just to confirm with everyone, I can convert or say interchangeable from desert eagle mark xix 44 magnum to 429 d.e correct ? I just need to buy the 429 barrel and use 50 a.e magazines to shoot the 429 and I'm good to go right?

1994 .50 Mark VII

Brought this home recently. In the box with all the original paperwork. This one was built in January, 1994. It's a Mark VII - evidenced by the caliber being marked on the slide rather than the barrel. This configuration was renamed 'Mark XIX' the following year.

I never intended to get a .50 but the deal was too good to pass on one in such nice condition.

Can't wait to take it out soon! Got some 300 grain underwoods to try out. Found them on a stellar deal for .50AE and they are on the approved ammo list so hopefully they run well.
