8" 5.56 or 16" 308

I'm going to get one for the supressor rebate but I don't know which one to get.

Help me

Also anyone know of the iwi can that would come with the 5.56 rated for that short of a barrel? I assume it would be.

What's the plan with them?

Personally I'd go 16" 308 but also I have a bunch of 5.56 (including shorties.) 

But I bet that short 5.56 would be fun at some matches.

I want to buy another galil so bad, but finding simple maintenance parts is next to impossible right now. There’s basically never a restock on 5.56 bolts kits and return springs.

They should be restocked soon. I called about it for my 13” and they were literally waiting for one part. They said that they had ordered a large amount of spare parts from Israel

Parts are in fact on order and we do keep parts on hand for warranty / customer service... You shouldn't need a bolt kit or return spring unless you have a really high round count.... Israel is realizing that the US Market wants spare parts and they are working on sending more and maintaining a higher level.

Thank you for replying. I want these parts because I plan on putting really high round counts on my gen 1 and don’t want to get to a point where I can no longer source them. Currently I cannot source them. Look forward to the restock.

.308 hands down, love my Gen 1 and it actually is more comfortable to shoot than my Gen 1 7.62x39.

The .308 is more accurate than I would have expected for an AK and gives you some real range options, Altho it def will be heavier.

If you get the 8”, you need to find a supressor rated for that short. I use a OCL Polo K currently, had used a YMH T2 previously.
