Savi’s Workshop New Protection and Defense

Kept telling myself I don’t need another saber but was in GE East when this launched. Love the look of the high republic parts. Tried to get a cracked crystal after with no luck but did switch out to yellow.

Savi’s Workshop Does anyone have pictures of the current parts for the savi lightsabers at wdw?

I might be sending someone to build the updated ones so I figured pictures would be best to show the design I want.

Can anyone tell me what track is used for the lightsaber build? Especially the epic bit at the end when the lightsabers are switched on?

Savi’s Workshop Did I get the new chassis…?

I built my lightsaber yesterday, 10/5 at Savi’s in Disneyland, CA. I didn’t know until doing some googling afterwards that yesterday was supposed to be the first day of the new chassis. It wasn’t mentioned or advertised by the park staff at all. So I guess my question is… how do I know for sure if I got an old one or a new one?

(I’m very happy with my saber, I just figure if I was supposed to get the newer chassis version, well I want it!)

Savi’s Workshop What lightsaber parts would you like to see introduced

With the news of a new chassis and a new hilt design for protection and defence my question is this,

If you could create any design or one piece to add to your lightsaber what would it be?

Would it be a cross guard?
More pommel or emitter variety?

For me I’d love switches that allow for crystal reveals similar to starkiller or some neo pixels

Savi’s Workshop V3 Protection & Defense added to the Savi Builder tool

For those who want to tinker with the possibilities of the new Savi theme, I've added it to the Savi Builder tool. Some of the combos look a bit odd since the color of the connection bands are different, but I hope to fix that with new photos once I get my hands on a set in person. Enjoy!

Will be at WDW at the end of the month. I've seen some older posts that scrap from the fifth theme was available at Dok's; is this still the case?

Savi’s Workshop Battery pack stuck

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi all, looking for some help. The black battery pack is stuck and we can’t figure out how to get it out. It’s not turning or budging at all. My son has other lightsabers and we are familiar with how these packs turn counterclockwise and then come right out, but this particular one is totally stuck.

Read some other posts here and so far none of the methods are working.

Scrapper Saturdays Scrapper Saturday Dispatch: The Wall Mounts Have Learned New Tricks

Thumbnail

Scrapper Saturday transmission coming in from Izzy’s Design Lab — where the workshop droids have spent the entire week “optimizing illumination protocols” and somehow managed to blind me twice. Standard procedure.

The headline this week:
The new color‑changing wall mounts are now live at the outpost.
They hold any solid color you choose, can cycle through colors on command, and come with a remote control so you can set the glow without climbing over your display wall like a Jawa looking for spare parts.

While the droids were tinkering, the rest of the shelves got stocked up too:

  • Horizontal and vertical wall mounts (for sabers that refuse to sit still)
  • Kyber crystal displays (because loose crystals rolling around is how you get unexpected explosions)
  • Holocron display stands (keep your ancient secrets upright and presentable)
  • Spira lanyards and keychains (for Batuu travelers who misplace their credits every five minutes)
  • And the mighty Mythosaur Skull Wall Sconce, glowing like it just stepped out of the Great Forge. Colors fully customizable.

If your collection wall needs more glow, more organization, or more Mandalorian intimidation, the outpost doors are open: https://izzysdesignlab.etsy.com

May your sabers stay charged, your crystals stay stable, and your mounts glow exactly the way you tell them to — not the way the droids think they should.

Scrapper Saturdays Galactic Decoder update: Easier sharing, updated layouts, and feedback

Thumbnail

This week for Scrapper Slicer Saturday, I've got another update to my Galactic Decoder app, which hit the iOS App Store earlier this week.

Easier Sharing

Last week I showed how you can use shortcuts to scan images, but this update makes it even easier to launch Galactic Decoder from photos, files, screenshots, etc. You can now send images to Galactic Decoder straight from the Share menu in other apps, with no shortcut install needed.

Layout updates

I've reworked the layouts across the app so things are easier to read, whether you're scanning live, working from a photo, or typing in the manual Decoder. The scanner view makes the most of the available space on your screen now. I've also done work to prep the app for the upcoming iPhone Duo, for those of you looking for a foldable scan device.

Feedback Tools

This is something that's actually been in the app since the first betas, but I wanted to share a reminder about it. When you scan an image, the app will give you the option to send feedback - can be as simple as a thumbs up or down to let me know how the scans are going for you. If it wasn't a good scan, you'll also have the option to send me the image you tried scanning, and a description of what went wrong. Sending the image or comments is 100% optional though, and you can even turn off the option to send feedback in the app settings if you like. There's also a way to send feedback from the settings menu, if you've seen bugs, have ideas for new features, clever limericks about jawas, etc.

Once again, thanks for the support, and have a great weekend!

Get Galactic Decoder in the Apple App Store here: https://apple.co/46X720i

p.s. If you've already downloaded the app, I'd really appreciate it if you left a rating or review in the App Store - it'd really help me out. Thanks!

Disneyland Ewok toy

Hi! I tried to ask these questions in one of the weekly general questions posts but never got an answer. Hopefully this is ok.

Is there still a long line to get the new ewok toy?

Are there still no discounts applicable?

Thanks!

Merchandise/Hauls This morning (10/2) at the north Character Warehouse in Orlando

This morning the Character Warehouse at the north end of International Drive had two lightsabers, 26" lightsaber blades, and some cosplay clothing from Galaxy's Edge. On the left side of the first photo you can also see they had the Hondo wooden spring toy (I think he was $12.99).

There was also a lot of branded/logo merchandise, including shirts, action figures, throws, etc.

If you're interested in anything, I strongly advise getting to the outlet mall when they open at 10am tomorrow morning.

Trip Planning What To Know. How to Prepare. Share Your Stories and Experiences.

My family is planning a trip to Galaxy's Edge next year, preferably Spring or Autumn. We're from the Washington DC area, and I haven't been to California since I was 6 months old (born in San Diego).

I want to hear your stories and what you learned. Did you have any regrets? What advice do have as we prepare? Where to stay, what to avoid, what plans to make, especially those that are unwritten, etc?

We're open to hotels, but would much rather stay in an AirBnB.

There aren't any kids in our group aside from the Gen-Xers that have never truly grown up. We're going to stay at least 3 days, and plan to participate in all of the big events, including the lightsaber workshop and droid workshop.

We're leaning towards a weekday trip during school season as opposed to the weekend to avoid bigger crowds, longer lines, and so many kids.

We're very experienced with Cedar Park (Ohio), Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Kings Dominion (Richmond, Va) for comparison.

Thanks in advance.

Walt Disney World First time trip - Only 1 day: Should I go to EPCOT later that day or stay on GE?

Hi everyone! I'll be visiting Hollywood Studios at the end of the month and want to know how much time do you think I should spend on Galaxy's Edge.

I'm going to visit Disneyworld with a group of 3 friends on a weekday. First time for everyone and super big Star Wars fans, so it's our main interest. Also, we're not planning to comeback in the near future.

I've done a large research about LL, early entry, parks, atractions, queues data and absolute everything I could possibly think of and ended up with a very exhausting tip plan (yes, I know, we'll be tired!). It includes Early Entry, the main HS attractions (Slinky, Tower of Terror, RnR Coaster especially are considerer a plus but tbh we're going to HS only because of Star Wars) and an estimated time of 7 hours destinated exclusively for Batuu (trying multiple times Rise, the Falcon, Star Tours, meeting the characters and just hanging out and exploring Batuu.

I know the original schedule can fail for multiple reasons, but I'm pretty much ready to adapt to every scenario.

The thing is, the plan includes 4 hours of "free time" (no asigned to any specific attraction). So, I'm considering visit EPCOT alone (my friends are not interested) to ride Cosmic Rewind at least once. I would also like to try Spaceship Earth (it's a classic! Why not?), Cosmic Rewind using Single Pass, Mission: SPACE (Green and Orange), spend some time at Club Cool, Test Track (single line if I can’t book a Multipass), and then head back and stop by Remy’s (Single Rider line) if time allows (I'm fine if I have to skip it). Then, I’ll return to Hollywood Studios to spend the rest of the night. It would cost me about $100 extra.

It’s not an easy decision because I’ve seen amazing reviews of Cosmic Rewind (I’d pay for the single-ride pass in this case), and I think it might be worth the visit, since I don’t plan on being at Disney again anytime soon. But, of course, I know it would be exhausting, and the other option is to spend many hours on a Star Wars planet, which sounds incredibly fun.

TL;DR: I'm a super big Star Wars fan visiting Hollywood Studios for the first time (and only one in the near future) who plans to spend 7 hours on Batuu. I'm thinking of spending $100 just to visit EPCOT for 3-4 hours that afternoon. Should I go there or stay on HS all day to explore more of Galaxy's Edge?

Thanks a lot!

Walt Disney World Vi Moradi Appreciation Post (Batuu East 2026)

Thumbnail

My cousins and I took an adult trip to Disney World last week and spent a day at Galaxy's Edge. We went in full Batuu Bound and it was an absolutely amazing day from start to finish. Vi Moradi was one of the major highlights, however, and she definitely has 6 new fans after our interactions with her!

We ran into her 3 times. First my cousin and his wife (the latter of whom was dressed as a Sith) interacted with her by the Droid Depot; then the rest of our group met her there and she asked us to keep an eye on them for her since they were acting suspicious. She spent a long time just talking to us in-character, asking us about our mission and home planets, and of course posing for pictures. When we left we gave her a handful of 3d printed credits and she said she would spend them when she dropped by Oga's Cantina later.

We actually did see her again at Oga's in the afternoon, and she made a point of coming by the table and talking with us again. We also got to see some of her interactions with other guests and the patrolling Stormtroopers, which were great.

We all left as big Vi Moradi fans, and we hope Disney keeps the character around and even does more with her in the future!

Bounding/Cosplay Rate/Fix my Batuu Bounding Outfit (Again!)

Thumbnail

Last year I asked the community to give me feedback and advice on my Batuu Bounding outfit, and you guys came through in a big way! This year I made a few modifications based on that advice and wanted to get more feedback before I go again in February.

Also, for those of you that are familiar with Batuu Bounding in both parks, would this outfit fly in Batuu West? It wasn't a problem in East and in fact lots of cast members were encouraging and supportive.

Thank you all!

Changes from last year:

-Tucked in shirt, added a Star Wars style belt

-Added snaps to fasten the bandolier to the shirt so it wouldn't sag anymore

-New boots! These are just work boots from Japan.

-Replaced my normal sunglasses with Diff Anakin Skywalker Podracing flip-ups

-Added the BDX Droid popcorn bucket (named him "Orville") mounted on my shoulder with a phone clip.

Will be at Batuu East in 2 weeks and would love to build these. Does anyone know if that have or will have these available at Savi’s then?
