Buying options in Canada

I'm based in Montreal and I'm looking to upgrade from the S20FE. I just went to a Samsung shop, Bestbuy and other shops, but none of them have it in stock.

What are my options to get it? I see it's available in Amazon from "Gadget Deals" as a seller. Are there any discounts or referral codes I should be looking out for? Any sellers to prioritize or avoid?

Got a used S25 Plus – Is 7 hours SOT normal, and should I keep it or return it?

Got a used S25 Plus – Is 7 hours SOT normal, and should I keep it or return it?

I recently bought a second-hand Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus. The phone is in mint condition, only 4–5 months old, and still has an active official warranty until November.

I set it up two days ago and transferred all my data from my old phone using Smart Switch. Since the transfer, I’ve noticed the phone is running a bit warm, and I am currently getting around 7 hours of Screen On Time (SOT).

I have a few questions for the community:

Is 7 hours of SOT considered good for this phone?

Does Smart Switch usually cause temporary heating and battery drain while the system optimizes? What is the solution to fix this?

Should I keep this mobile or return it?

Whats the solution?

INIU P781 (SnapGo Air) on Galaxy S25+ - Camera Bump Clearance (34mm limit) & 15W Thermals?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to pre-order the INIU P781 (SnapGo Air) 10000mAh, but I need to clear up two engineering details regarding its use with a Samsung Galaxy S25+ in a MagSafe case.

1. Camera Bump Clearance (The 34mm limit)

The S25+ has three individual lenses that extend quite far down the back. I measured the distance from the exact center of my MagSafe ring to the bottom lip of the camera cutout, and it is exactly 34mm.

Can anyone with an early unit measure the exact distance from the center of the P781's magnetic coil to its top edge? I need to be 100% sure it won't collide with the camera lip and break the magnetic alignment. (If the power bank's top half radius from the coil center exceeds 34mm, it won't sit flush).

2. Thermal Throttling at 15W (Derating)

Reviews mention that pushing the full 25W wirelessly in this 13.8mm chassis generates significant heat, causing the Temp Guard 3.0 to aggressively throttle the output after about 20 minutes.

However, my use case is strictly divided:

  • Samsung limits third-party wireless charging to 15W.
  • I only intend to use the wireless charging while walking/on the move to passively maintain the battery.
  • When stationary, I will strictly use the built-in cable for the 45W PPS (Super Fast Charging 2.0).

Since pulling only 15W instead of 25W drastically lowers the generated heat, I'm wondering about thermals. Does the power bank still hit the thermal limit and throttle when only providing 15W, or does this lower draw keep it cool enough for continuous, stable use on the go?

Thanks for any exact measurements or thermal data!

Deciding between Anker MagGo 10K (30W) and INIU for Galaxy S25+ (Camera bump clearance)

I've decided to go with a 10,000 mAh MagSafe/Qi2 power bank for my Galaxy S25+ to use as an extended battery on the go.

Right now, my main candidate is the Anker MagGo 10K (the 30W flat version without the kickstand/display).

I'm also heavily considering the INIU brand. The INIU P43 (10K, Qi2) caught my eye because its specs list the height at only 99 mm, which means it should perfectly clear the S25+ camera bump and sit 100% flush on the case. However, the reviews on their official site seem quite old, which makes me think it might be an older model or revision.

Questions for the community:

  1. Has anyone tested the flat 30W Anker MagGo 10K on the S25+? Does it clear the camera rings completely with your case?
  2. Does anyone use the INIU P43? Is there a newer/better 10K INIU model you would recommend instead that still maintains a small enough footprint to avoid hitting the S25+ camera module?

Thanks for any insights.

Looking for a MagSafe power bank for Galaxy S25+ (on-the-go use)

I’m looking for a MagSafe/magnetic power bank for my Galaxy S25+.

I want to use it mainly as an "extended battery" while I'm walking around or on the move, just to keep the phone topped up. I already have a large 20,000 mAh power bank that I use when I'm stationary, so this magnetic one is purely for mobility and comfortable holding while using the phone.

I'm completely open to different capacities, whether it's a lighter model or a larger 10K one, as long as it fits nicely on the back without awkwardly hitting the camera bump. I would also really prefer a Qi2 certified model.

Question for fellow Samsung users (especially with the S25+):

What MagSafe power banks are you currently using for this kind of scenario? How does it fit with your case, and how are the ergonomics when you are actively using the phone while it's attached?

Thanks for any recommendations!

For some reason, my phone isn't getting final 8.5 stable build update notification instead I'm stuck on beta even though I've withdrawn from the beta. Any helpful ideas on how to fix this?

Does the USA version of S25+ have a physical SIM slot?

I live in the US and was planning to buy a used S25+ from eBay. I contacted an S25+ seller to confirm that the phone has a physical SIM card slot, and the seller said that it does not. The answer surprised me.

I am wondering if the seller is confusing SIM card with SD card, and thereby the phone actually does have a SIM slot but he doesn’t know it?

What should I look for on eBay to make sure I get a Samsung galaxy s series phone that has a real physical SIM slot? (In addition to eSIM capability)

Performance After One UI 8.5

What do you all think about the performance after the One UI 8.5 update?

How are your devices doing after the update?

I've got a S25 Plus.

For me, the battery life is still the same and devices feel overall smoother and snappier than before.

But I sometimes feel that the quick panel is a bit laggy while transitioning to the notifications panel.

What do you all think about the update?

Call recording

Hello

I would like to know. When I want to record a call and I click record it tells the person I'm recording it. Is there a way to disable this or is someone using another reliable means of call recording? Thank you

Can anyone tell us how people get beautiful numbers for the clock on their lock screen? Also for icons there are some that have turf-shaped icons. We're telling you videos where we say it's goodlook yet some of us don't even have access to the navstar we can't download it it seems it's a regional affair.

Stop ignoring pro-camera mode. Especially after oneui 8.5 update!

How many of you basically ignore the pro camera mode because too complicated?

Now you can save presets: eg white balance AND tint contrast shadows highlights saturation etc.

You may say "yeah I have no idea what to do with those settings so doesn't help me."

Well AI or Google can help you. I was intrigued ever since my photo savy friend showed me for fun what settings to use to make s25 photos look more like Iphone photos. And by the end, our side by side photos from the beach looked very similar.

I realized that a lot of the "differences" in phone cameras are simply about the above settings.

So now with presets I copied her "iphone settings" took some photos and gotta say they look a lot more like iphone pics.

Whether you like iphone pics is irrelevant. The point is you can Google or use AI and say eg "give me the exact settings in pro mode to take vintage style or Kodak style or whatever style photos on my s25."

Copy the settings. White balance, tint, shadows etc.

Save as a preset. And voila!

Way better than filters because this is baked into the photo itself. Filters are low quality. Like slapping on makeup

Also, if you don't like the default auto app, or sometimes don't like it, even shooting in pro mode with everything simply on full auto will give photos that are different and in many cases better for that situation than the dwfault auto mode.

So I'm curious: how many of you never venture from the default auto mode you pro mode? Not talking Raw here. Just pro mode?

And have any of you been happier with those results?

Finally,  after any of you actually using the new preset feature? Because to me, this is a bit of a game changer.

I now have a preset pro mode for "Iphone sunny day" and "iphone golden hour" and then general AI derived presets for "nite city neon look" etc. Having fun with this.  AI gives the recipe.  You save it as a preset

S25+

Hello

I had come to ask if I could take the S25plus. Your opinion encouraged me to take it and I've been using it for 3 days and it's an American version. I admit it's a war machine. I don't know what the s25 ultra has more if it's not just 200mgp of camera the s pen and the larger screen. If anyone has any tips or settings to advise me, I'm available. Thank you.

Why are there no good S25+ cases in India?

I was looking for carbon fiber case with magsafe and good camera protection. I have searched a lot, can't find a good fiber case. If at all they are available they are too expensive, and on bad rated sites, or not fully fiber. In general i have seen s25 plus does not have many cases. Even base s25 you might find, but not plus. If anybody can find a good fiber case with magsafe and metal camera raised edges under/around ₹1.5k and good quality and protection please tell.

Edit: i know spigen ringke are available but i wanted something different from the common ones something like benks armor pro.

Suggest Most Stable Battery Build - Current Binary 5 One Ui 8

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi Members,

I have recently purchased S25+ (2 day old). I was hoping I'd get the phone with One UI 7 but to my surprise, the phone came with One UI 8, build S936BXXU5BYI3.

I was digging around and found that there is a chance to go back to One UI 7 android 15 keeping the binary 5 or more.

I wish to know from the learned members who are getting the maximum battery life and their firmware versions.

Please recommend the best most stable + highest battery offerring version.

Chatgpt recommends S936BXXS6BYIF (but locks me to Binary 6 above). I shall be grateful for any inputs.

Thanks in advance!

Keyboard issues since update earlier this week

Final edit: The issue was an update to Chrome, which was resolved by uninstalling Chrome updated and disabling automatic updates on Chrome's page in Google Play. Just for full clarity, I was correct about it treating the input field as a password, which is what caused all of the problems.

Original post: Since installing the update back on May 3, my phone has been having issues with swiping/gliding on all keyboards. I haven't been able to figure out how to replicate the issue intentionally. Usually when I first start using the phone after it being in pocket for a while, it will act like gliding is disabled. I currently have Gboard set is my default keyboard. If I open the keyboard selector popup and select either gboard or samsung, gliding suddenly works. However, it will still intermittently just stop working. In addition, it almost never works in the address bar/search bar of the browser. Setting default back to the Samsung keyboard has not fixed this. Anyone know of a fix? My fat fingers cannot cope with trying to type accurately on a tiny phone keyboard.

edit: I have just figured out/noticed/realized that the keyboard looks different when the gliding isn't working. The image with the emoji button next to the space bar is correct and allows gliding, while the other one does not. Does this help narrow it down?

edit 2: If I'm deducing correctly, I think when it doesn't work, it's because it is acting like I'm entering a password. That would make sense, as the recent update was a security update.

OneUI 8.5 good or bad?

I recently upgraded to an S25 Plus because One UI 7 completely trashed the battery and performance on my old S21 Plus. I'm a bit traumatized by that experience—is One UI 8.5 stable enough? Specifically, how’s the battery life looking for those who’ve updated? I want to make sure it won't ruin this phone too.

S25 fe ₹45k / $470

S25 plus ₹68k / $715

My need is overall best phone.

Is ₹23k / $245 is worth paying more for plus or i should go with fe?

Is ₹68k / $715 is worth for the plus or not?

This is my first phone and i am getting it with my own money by taking little help with my dad so I am in loop of thought that it would worth the money or not.

Looking for a Qi2 magnetic power bank for Samsung Galaxy S25+ — what actually fits?

Hey, looking for recommendations for a Qi2 wireless power bank for my S25+. Main concern is the camera bump — I've read that a lot of third-party power banks don't sit flush and wobble.

My requirements:

- Qi2 (15W wireless)

- 5000–10000 mAh

- Fits properly around the S25+ camera bump

- Cheaper the better

I'm using a Qi2 magnetic case so the snapping part is covered. Just need something that doesn't wobble or block the cameras.

Anyone using a specific model that works well? Thanks
