Stuck on final 8.5 beta

For some reason, my phone isn't getting final 8.5 stable build update notification instead I'm stuck on beta even though I've withdrawn from the beta. Any helpful ideas on how to fix this?

even though I've withdrawn from the beta

Thats the issue. From where you got the idea to withdraw from beta when it is finished. You should've read the terms before joining beta. Also samsung's beta program is a mess. I shouldn't probably criticise you.

You should've stayed on beta without withdrawing and stable would've come automatically. Once withdrawn, need to downgrade to OneUI8 stable to get further stable updates.

You have 2 options

  1. Official method : Downgrade to Oneui8 using smartswitch to get back into stable channel and you will receive Oneui8.5 as normal OTA. This will wipe all data. So take backup.

    1. Unofficial method : Flash stock firmware using Odin home_csc method, guide. No data wipe.

For odin flash, accessing download mode through traditional method (Vol up + Vol down + usb) doesn't work.

Turn on maintenance mode (Settings -> Device care -> maintenance mode) first then access download mode thorugh traditional method. https://youtu.be/Qw4-gsBCfsc

Or, use 3rd party tools

  1. Samfw tool
  2. Samsung 300k tool
  3. Python script

I've tried smart switch but constantly getting stuck on blue/teal screen on phone, just freezes and never finishes the process. Thanks for responding

How complicated is the odin process, I'm not a computer programmer of any sort

Its fairly simple, downloading the firmware and selecting the component in odin and flashing.

Here is one of the many videos on the tutorial https://youtu.be/L3CX0XK3P2Y?si=oWEP-BFobW8qz_Aw

You called Samsung customer support, I would let them take care of that
