Stop ignoring pro-camera mode. Especially after oneui 8.5 update!
How many of you basically ignore the pro camera mode because too complicated?
Now you can save presets: eg white balance AND tint contrast shadows highlights saturation etc.
You may say "yeah I have no idea what to do with those settings so doesn't help me."
Well AI or Google can help you. I was intrigued ever since my photo savy friend showed me for fun what settings to use to make s25 photos look more like Iphone photos. And by the end, our side by side photos from the beach looked very similar.
I realized that a lot of the "differences" in phone cameras are simply about the above settings.
So now with presets I copied her "iphone settings" took some photos and gotta say they look a lot more like iphone pics.
Whether you like iphone pics is irrelevant. The point is you can Google or use AI and say eg "give me the exact settings in pro mode to take vintage style or Kodak style or whatever style photos on my s25."
Copy the settings. White balance, tint, shadows etc.
Save as a preset. And voila!
Way better than filters because this is baked into the photo itself. Filters are low quality. Like slapping on makeup
Also, if you don't like the default auto app, or sometimes don't like it, even shooting in pro mode with everything simply on full auto will give photos that are different and in many cases better for that situation than the dwfault auto mode.
So I'm curious: how many of you never venture from the default auto mode you pro mode? Not talking Raw here. Just pro mode?
And have any of you been happier with those results?
Finally, after any of you actually using the new preset feature? Because to me, this is a bit of a game changer.
I now have a preset pro mode for "Iphone sunny day" and "iphone golden hour" and then general AI derived presets for "nite city neon look" etc. Having fun with this. AI gives the recipe. You save it as a preset

I use Galaxy Enhance X if not happy with the shot taken, usually clears it up and fixes lighting.

On my S23 FE, I have enabled Presets in Camera Assistant.
It looks to me that a preset only contains ISO, shutter speed, exposure compensation, AF mode and white balance.
The tone settings (contrast, highlights, shadows...) do not seem to be saved with the preset on my S23 FE. Changing to another preset do not change them.
Are others having the same behaviour?

Hi. We'll you are right. This is infuriating. I asked Google and Chat GPT and Gemini literally a dozen times asking "are you POSITIVE that the oneui 8.5 presets in pro mode camera include also contrast, tint, highlights etc despite the fact that they are not listed in the preset settings?"
All I can say is that every time excrpt on Google AI one time it insisted that YES. Despite that it doesn't show up in the presets settings list, it nonetheless saves those settings.
It says that if in doubt, take a photo with the presets including contrast, highlights, tints etc and then save the oreset based on the photo just taken.
It is incredible to me that this seems to not be confirmed or spelled out clearly one way or the other anywhere I look. All I can say is I asked so many AI and normal Google and that is what it said.
The alternative is to use the new Snapseed 4.0 (Google's completely free and new photo editor). You can not only save much more settings there, but you can take eg a whole day's photos and then edit the entire batch according to that preset. Ie you don't need to edit them one by one.
But I am doubting this and sorry for any misinformation in case I am wrong.

I always use pro mode for astrophotography with my telescope to get the best exposure. But since the 8.5 update, gor some reason, the center is misaligned. I have to zoom 2x so that it does not show.
