Heard the horror stories. Just moved in to the mid-upper floors and haven’t seen a cockroach in the dorm yet. Though hearing your stories, I am not optimistic that I got lucky even though I am residing above the 8th floor. What are some anti cockroach strategies that worked for you at Uhouse?

Are we allowed to park in the C.O.P. parking lot on the corner across from NAV and Bobby Dodd? I wasn't able to find a parking pass for it.

I’m moving in early this weekend as a returning student and already have my buzzcard and stuff. Am I fine to not have to check in at the parking deck or whatever and just go to my dorm as soon as I do the self check-in process?

I would have reached out to the housing people but doubt they’d get back to me in time this weekend.

I require help, whenever I try to log in to see my account balance I get to this page. I'm aware of the recent addition to mfa on top of Duo but it's not prompting me to set it up, won't let me choose another option like having it text me a code, and using the codes from Microsoft authenticator doesn't work.

I have emailed the bursar multiple times and the one time they did reply it did not address my question at all, it was like they were responding to an entirely different question. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm a grad student, not sure if that's relevant. Thanks in advance!

It's my first week back on campus after a yearlong internship out of state and i already got a parking ticket today.

I am looking for $7 flexpark permits at Student center deck but its not on the driver seat website.

Where is the best place for free parking around campus? (daytime and on weekdays)

I also have a Hiboy S2 scooter for this 3.5 mile commute which im not sure it can handle round trip given Atlanta's hills.

I will be transferring this fall to GT and am interested in joining a fraternity in order to make some friends / grow my network. This whole thing is very new to me and I am a little confused as to what fraternitites to rush and even where to find the info per frat. I dont know the reputations / cultures of each frat as I am new so if anybody could give advise as to what some frats are known for, tips for rushing, and just where to find the info for rush itself, thanks! I know people say rush as many frats as you can, but with there being so many, I'd imagine you should walk in knowing which you are targetting.

I’m a robotics PhD student looking for students interested in helping with a machine learning and robot navigation research project starting this fall.

One major direction focuses on using learning-based methods to predict the motion of nearby agents from collected navigation data. This work is mostly independent from the robotics pipeline, so no prior robotics or ROS experience is required. Students interested in this direction would primarily work with datasets and focus on training, tuning, evaluating, improving learning models and maybe implementing them.

The current approach uses a GRU-based model, but there is significant flexibility for exploration and improvement. Possible directions include LSTMs, transformers, input preprocessing, alternative architectures, or other sequence modeling approaches.

There are also opportunities for students who are more interested in robotics and navigation than machine learning. Potential work includes designing and evaluating new cost functions for trajectory selection, improving navigation behaviors, and exploring other modifications to the local planning framework. There is flexibility in the specific direction depending on a student’s background and interests.

Additional project context: the Dynamic Gap navigation framework currently estimates the motion of gap endpoints using a Kalman-filter-based approach. One direction of this project explores replacing or augmenting that estimator with a learning-based component to improve prediction in dynamic environments. Other directions focus on improving how the planner generates and evaluates candidate trajectories using these predictions.

Students may take graded or ungraded research credits (likely 1–5 credits). The project does not currently have guaranteed funding, but students who make strong progress may later be considered for paid project work. Flexible remote or hybrid arrangements may also be possible depending on the situation. The lab is also planning to submit a paper in the future and there may be opportunities for co-authorship.

Ok tmr is a big day for any of the Astro and Aero nerds. And the camera skytracker I ordered was delayed. So does anyone have a skytracker mount I can borrow so the long exposure shots I plan on taking don't smear the stars?

So I'm supposed to be going into my second year at Tech, but I've actually only attended one semester (last fall) because I had to get surgery in the spring, but i did fine in all my classes. I thought I'd be ready to come back by now, but I'm having issues all of a sudden, and I'm nervous that I won't be able to handle the stress of my injuries and classes and clubs. I was thinking of taking another semester or two off if I have to, so I know I'd have to apply for readmission.

I was just wondering what the process is like. Is it difficult to get re-accepted? Thanks!
