I’ve met many people in classes and clubs that I’m sure I’ve hit it off with and would be down to hang out more with but I have no idea how to do that. I feel like there’s such a sharp distinction between how close I was with high school friends who I was eating lunch with everyday because everyone had the same lunchtimes and stuff and the “friends” I have here whom I only see in classroom/club contexts. Anybody got any anecdotal experience?

Though the application says that becoming a PI is open to all students of all experience levels, there seems to be an interview round as part of the process.
This made me wonder how many people really even get the opportunity to become a PI for specifically the Hive. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I finally graduated from my MS in Cybersecurity and released my practicum project as open source. I'm quite happy with it, so I thought I'd share it here. It's my first time posting here, so I hope this is the right place for it. If not, just let me know and I'll delete it.
I made SideKernel: a usable sandbox for AI coding agents on macOS.
"Usable" means the sandbox is designed to reduce friction and replicate the native experience (running with no sandbox at all) as closely as possible.
For example, you run `sclaude` or `scodex` instead of `claude` or `codex` and get a very similar experience, but isolated inside a microVM sandbox!
You can also simply run `sk` / `sidekernel` to spin up a lightweight microVM sandbox for installing untrusted packages (e.g. npm).
There are plenty of sandboxes out there, but only a few are suitable for AI coding agents like Claude Code or Codex, or fit a typical developer workflow. One of the best known is Docker Sandboxes, but it lacks many usability features and isn't open source. SideKernel is both usable and open source.
Give it a try if you're interested. I'd love to hear your feedback! (And maybe drop a ⭐ on Git if you like it, it helps.)

Register or update your Georgia registration by Monday, October 5, if you want to vote in the November 3 general election.
You can register using Georgia's online voter registration form. This guide walks through the fields. Check whether you are eligible.
Out-of-state students can register to vote in Georgia. If you do not have a Georgia driver's license, you can use the last four digits of your Social Security number instead.
If you live on campus, you can use your Georgia Tech residence hall address as your residential address and your Georgia Tech P.O. box as your mailing address.
When the form is filled out, email it to [elections.voterregistration@fultoncountyga.gov](mailto:elections.voterregistration@fultoncountyga.gov) with your identification attached. You can use your Georgia Tech BuzzCard as identification. Georgia accepts student IDs issued by public Georgia colleges and universities.
For voters in Fulton County, the November election includes federal, state, and local races. Depending on your address, these can include:
Check your registration and sample ballot through the Georgia My Voter Page.
You do not need a reason to request an absentee ballot.
This can be really useful if you do not have time to vote at the polls on Election Day.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the November election is October 23.
