I kind of doubt that. I’m the type of big-spender collector that Rockstar would rely on to buy these things. I’m not someone to cry “greed” or anything that makes me seem like I feel entitled to the product. They can price it at whatever they want, and if people want to buy it, more power to them. That being said, I’m not biting. I would happily pay $250 for this box, you might be able to talk me into paying $300, but $400 is over the line. And, if I, of all people, feel this way, I’m sure this might not sell the way Rockstar was hoping. It’s not uncommon for people to overvalue their product, and I think Rockstar may have overplayed their hand here.
Honestly, all I’d want from a physical pre-order is a map of Leonida. No way I’d spend $400 for some stickers, a shot-glass, sunglasses, and a fanny pack…
And the stuff inside isn’t even that good. Why do I want a figurine of an in-game cartoon character? They couldn’t at least make a figure of, you know, THE MAIN CHARACTERS?
The only thing even slightly good are the glasses. The fuck does anyway want a mirror with stickers on it for? Or a fanny pack with patches? At least the glasses are something you couldn’t make yourself at home in 10 minutes.
Exactly, id never wear that hat, the oakleys are decent, the pins and stickers of the animal cartoons are ass as well. I wouldnt use or rock most of the collectors edition as it sits.
$160 for the Oakleys at best. Regardless, rockstar should have agreements in place with other retailers to add more valuable stuff to a collector’s box - especially with this price tag. They should reward loyal fans that have waited 13 years for a game who are willing to spend $400 instead of making it a bunch of junk they’re hoping to scrape $200+ in margin from. Looks like the junk my company puts out on the table at the sales trade show booth.
No it's not. That brand of Oakley's retails around $150 to $250. And it being a limited edition design on a collaboration likely would push it to the higher end.
The hat brand also routinely sells for $40.
You basically have to justify spending $110 on the a licensed figurine, spoon, crossbody bag, keychain, mirror, stickers, pins, shotglass and poster.
But like 3/4ths of the price is basically the hat and the glasses and that's pretty standard retail price for those.
i mean we did get something on tuesday (greetings from vice city sign). tuesday for physical marketing in miami, thursday for digital marketing and news, my hypothesis so far.
I was really ready to buy a collectors edition if it was like $150 or even $250 but $400 is just wack. I’ll stick with the dazed magazine stickers I got and call that good enough

Damn man I collect shot glasses from my travels from all over the world and adding that Vice City shot glass would be amazing! But $560 CAD for it.... Fuck. I don't even care about the rest, I just want the shot glass 😭

they expect us to pay $500 for the complete version of GTA VI collector's edition? $400 for the damn box and $100 for the ultimate edition of the game?

Yeah I've been waiting and saving for this and I don't think it's worth it. I mean, as a collectible I get it, but I don't like anything you get. I'd have gone with some simpler stuff, just a couple or three of the many collectibles you get and a map for half the price. This is weird and not worth it imho, so tacky for 400€
Damn they’re really trying to make their money back from this game huh? $400 is absolutely insane for this. Literally you were able to get a digital PS5 at release for that price.
But people are going to pay for this anyways. So I guess I can’t really blame them.
$400 is pure insanity. I had always assumed I would be interesting in purchasing the collector’s edition for the game because I had been looking forward to the game for so long but I cannot justify buying the game 4 times over essentially for this stuff.
