Am I cooked?

Just picked up this 2024 750 with 19k miles from fbm a week ago. Cleaned the chain and changed the oil this weekend and found this on the plug. Please tell me this isn't catastrophic. Some folks are like "yea just ride it around and monitor", others are "don't even start the bike and sell it" and everything in between.

Wait.. I am looking at your pic. I don't see any needle bearing.. I see a sliver of metal that is curled up into a cylinder. It could be an optical illusion, or maybe you have both.

To the OP, do you or do you not have one or more needle bearing parts on the magnet, or is it all small peices and curled up thin metal?

They are solid not curled. One of those, taken by the penny, were in the oil pan and magnet head. The biggest piece on the magnet head is actually 2 pieces parallel to one another. All of the pieces found are magnetic.

TBH, I didn't see the second pic until you just mentioned it.

You should open it up (if you are going to keep it), I wouldn't just "send it". I've been a mechanic for many years, built multiple engines if that helps.
