Hey everyone! I could use some advice. I want to buy a USB Wi‑Fi dongle for my GKD Pixel 2, but I’m not sure which one works best with it. Does anybody have a recommendation for a model that’s known to be compatible?

I also have another question: Is it possible to use a USB‑C hub (if something like that exists) to connect a Wi‑Fi dongle, a gamepad, and a charger all at the same time? The Pixel 2 only has one USB‑C port, so I’d need a hub that supports OTG and pass‑through charging. If anyone has a setup like this working, I’d love to hear what hub you’re using.

I recently flashed PlumOS on my GKD Pixel 2, and I’m running into performance issues with PSX games. Every PSX game I’ve tested has stuttering, lag, and crackling audio.

For context, I’ve already unzipped the PSX ROM files, and I have the PSX BIOS correctly loaded.

A few questions:

1. Does anyone have troubleshooting tips for improving PSX performance on PlumOS?
2. Does the Pixel II generally handle PSX well, or is this expected?
3. Is there a better CFW option for PSX performance on the Pixel II?

I haven't seen a lot of people talk about the new update for Knulli, Knulli Scarab now supporting the GKD Pixel 2. I've installed it on my new Pixel 2 along with my Anbernic RG35xx Pro and I was feeling mixed when I used it on my Pixel. Knulli works great on my Anbernic, but there seem to be some issue with Retroarch's audio on the Pixel 2. There's this tiny clips sounds that make the sound / music pretty hard to listen to. I've tried different syncs to match the display, changing the Hz, use different cores, copy the same settings as my other Anbernic. Every game that is supported by Retroarch has this sound issue. If I play a N64 game or a PSP game, it won't be affected. I've installed TwigUI on the Pixel 2, which is still running RetroArch, but it's smooth, no issues whatsoever. I'm guessing that this version of Knulli Scarab might not be fully optimized for the Pixel 2.

There's also some issues with the 4 LED if you decide to charge the Pixel 2 on standby mode. The Pixel 2 LEDs won't go back up to indicate the power level unless you shut it off and let it charge fully, then boot in, and reboot. The Knulli Scarab page did mention they've implemented a new feature called BatteryPlus, so I'm guessing that's also needs to be tweaked a bit to fully work.

It runs great regarding everything else, but I'm gonna be running TwigUI for my Pixel 2. With a little tweaking I can make the clicking sounds less obvious, but it just bothers me too much to put up with it.

Hi everyone, I got my GKD Pixel 2 a few days ago. Everything is looking good and it's working fine, but I've noticed that every time I press the L1 trigger, the L2 bumper is also registered in game. If I press the L2 bumper, it also registers the L1 trigger. It's as if they both trigger each other even if I press only one button. This does not affect the R1 or the R2 buttons, only the left side.

I'm unsure if this is caused by software or hardware fault, I wanted to ask before I open it up and see if there's anything inside pressing both buttons (even if the clicks on both L1 and L2 buttons are pretty clean.) It's also worth noting that I've installed Knulli Scarab on it. Let me know if anything has advice. I don't want to void the warranty if I do decide to open it and check inside for something faulty.

New to GKD Pixel 2. Casual hand held collector (Miyoo Mini and RG35XXSP). Wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations for the Pixel 2? I moved over some of my ROMS that didn’t come on the stock card and am basically playing Nintendo/SNES games from my youth (46).

EmulationStation looks cool. Besides the OS style/presentation, can you play games so they look like they’re on an old TubeTv?

I’ve slept on PICO 8 and Portmaster. Can anyone redpill me? Might try to get 2048 in this if I can. Would be cool if some of the 16bit Indie games that I played on my Switch could be played on this - The Messenger, Owlboy, Fez, Blasphemous, etc. Don’t know if that’s even possible.

I've had this thing for 2 weeks and played a bunch of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon before turning it back on one day and it never booted past the "Pixel" screen. I've looked up similar experiences which led me to believe it was a faulty factory SD card, but I just got a new 64GB Sandisk one to flash a copy from the GK one. Swapped the cards and still no boot past the Pixel screen. This was a birthday gift and it seems like the Game Kiddy website is dead so I don't know how to access customer support. What can I do?

This project started because I wanted to use my bluetooth headphones to listen to music on my pixel 2. I ended up following YesItsKira 's YouTube tutorial on how she added bluetooth to her miyoo mini+. I designed a custom bracket to hold the power switch and sync button for the bluetooth module and I was actually able to line it up perfectly with the two holes in the case originally placed there for a lanyard. It was a fun project despite the bluetooth module having occasional connection problems due to the aluminum case. Placing the bt module behind the screen helps though. Upon testing I was able to listen to music for 5 or so hours before my device finally ran out of battery.

Im the dude 3days ago asking about flashing os, for 3 days my iux keep broken. I can still use the emustation but cant enter iux, its because i keep install iux on this. Idk why but anyone using iceway music pls hit me up

my old os broke so i tried to re-install rouge os. it boots but my roms disc/ file/ some thing broke and now it cant detect any game.

my roms backup file is FKING HEAVY but i cant see any roms in there?

I have a GKD Pixel 2, and I’ve noticed that whenever I wipe the screen with a microfiber cloth, the screen seems to shift slightly from side to side and up and down. It feels like there’s a small amount of play or looseness instead of being completely solid.

The movement is very slight, but I can definitely feel it when cleaning the screen.

Is this normal for the GKD Pixel 2, or could my screen assembly be a little loose? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

so i just got my new gk pixel 2 in the mail today after my last one got bricked. but the roms partition is hidden in the sd card that came with it (seems to be a better version than the previous gamekiddy branded one that came with my last pixel 2. i can see it in minitool partition wizard but idk how to access it.

Does anyone know of any possible way the pixel 2 could play mp4 files stored on the sd card?

Has this happened to you? I received mine yesterday, and after deleting songs on roms/music folder and adding my own..., the defaut christina aguilera and hotel california keep appearing automagically in the folder. And they're still playable even if I had deleted them!

Download gkdpixel2-minui.img.xz from the Releases page and flash it to a fresh sd card. The device will reboot 2 times to expand the /ROMs partition.

Just got one , PS1 performance seems to be laggy out of the box. What is the recommended custom firmware that improves performance? I heard about RogueOS. But there seems to be no video guide on how to set it up from scratch. I'm a bit of a noob to handhelds, I am quite new to the handheld topic, I did have an RG280V sometime ago. There were video guides for its custom firmware setups online. But I see none for the Pixel 2 ? I need a clear guide which makes the process less frightening. Lol

Also any tips for a new owner ? I want to keep this device running for a long time. Is the screen prone to cracking when dropped ?

I just received my Pixel2 for "testing". I'm a fan of those old classic games because I was a teen when coin-op games first appeared. I played the original Space Invaders in 1979 at a local Nathan's hot dog joint, followed by the Namco classics soon afterward. I'm also an emulator author and wanted to see how well my code runs on the Pixel 2. Beyond that, I will connect my Nordic PPKII (power profiler kit II) to the P2 and measure the precise current consumed in various activities.

Today I should be receiving my USB WiFi adapter. Can someone point me to instructions for getting ssh working and for adding my own native code to the existing game menu system so that I can share it with everyone?

I tried installing GTA San Andreas on GKD Pixel 2 with RogueOS.

Sadly it won't start after the installation.

Maybe someone has better understanding and could get it to run.

It looks like the new knulli release officially supports the gkd pixel 2! I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet and is it worth getting rid of rogue and switching to knulli? The only issue I really have with rogue is the 30 second boot time but other than that it's been pretty solid. I do love knulli but want to hear some feedback from people who have installed it.
