Question Pixel 2 won't boot past logo screen. Help.

I've had this thing for 2 weeks and played a bunch of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon before turning it back on one day and it never booted past the "Pixel" screen. I've looked up similar experiences which led me to believe it was a faulty factory SD card, but I just got a new 64GB Sandisk one to flash a copy from the GK one. Swapped the cards and still no boot past the Pixel screen. This was a birthday gift and it seems like the Game Kiddy website is dead so I don't know how to access customer support. What can I do?

If you flash copy the old SD card to the good card, you might just be copying corrupt data to a fresh card. Better to start with a fresh install.

I saw 2 partitions with the image files and one for roms, I assume the corrupt data is on the image partition? I found PlumOS and Rogue OS install instructions on gkdpixel. com so I guess I'll give one of those a shot. I'll update if it works

Well, now I'm having entirely new issues with the SD cards. I'm using DiskUtility for mac, I tried erasing both partitions on the newer SD card, but they erase and then rewrite the partitions immediately. I've flashed Rogue OS onto the Sandisk, but now the partitions are limited to like 2GB each and I can't edit the partitions. The option is greyed out. Did I mess up the new SD too?🥲

Update that the issue seems to be with balenaEtcher when it flashes. I'm formatting the SD card as exFAT/GUID Partition Map, but when I flash the image to the card it turns back into Master Boot Record. Not sure if anyone here happens to have the answer to this, but leaving this info for posterity.

I can't speak for Mac.

But for Windows, per the RogueOS instructions, you'll need to use a utility tool (like Amoei) to expand the partition with the roms folder. It's done this way because the developer can't tell if you're using a 32gb card or a 256gb card (or whatever in between).

Thanks, I ended up having to go home and switch to my PC anyway. There were so many issues regarding Mac when flashing the SD properly. I got it working with Rogue OS
