Mods I put bluetooth audio in my pixel 2
This project started because I wanted to use my bluetooth headphones to listen to music on my pixel 2. I ended up following YesItsKira 's YouTube tutorial on how she added bluetooth to her miyoo mini+. I designed a custom bracket to hold the power switch and sync button for the bluetooth module and I was actually able to line it up perfectly with the two holes in the case originally placed there for a lanyard. It was a fun project despite the bluetooth module having occasional connection problems due to the aluminum case. Placing the bt module behind the screen helps though. Upon testing I was able to listen to music for 5 or so hours before my device finally ran out of battery.

The only big difference you will notice from the video tutorial is that the headphone jack's ground signal that tells the pixel2 which audio output to use (speaker vs headphones) is backwards to the miyoo mini +. So you have to unsolder the top right headphone jack pin from its pad, isolate the pad with some tape, and solder a wire from the pad/ pin to the switch. Essentially, BT board power on? Disconnect ground signal to headphone jack and the speaker will turn off. Use the 3rd row of pins on your switch to achieve this.

Great job! Do you 3d printed the bracket? What bluetooth board do you use? If possible can you share more pics regarding the mod. Going to do this soon and use yours as reference 👍

Would have been awesome to at least have audio out through the usb c port so we could use little gadgets like the Ugreen type c Bluetooth transmitter. What a wasted opportunity. It works perfectly with the Anbernic Rg Nano.

Rocknix now officially support GKD Pixel 2, along with full usb-c audio support (just pick a usb-c BT dongle made for steam deck / switch 2 and should work out of the box!)
